QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 03:10 PM) He is an atrocious owner but he never had a team until now that was a legitimate championship contender. Sarver had a legitimate title contender when he became the owner of the Suns and ran it into the ground by being cheap. Sterling simply ran it into the ground from the start. Plus, he is racist.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) Damn you Kyle, you posted that while I was going back to get my quote about Mel Tucker being a name the Bears should look into. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mel_Tucker Tucker has a pretty good pedigree. Played for Alvarez, GA for Saban, DB coach for Tressel and Co-DC. DB Coach/DC at Cleveland and DC at Jaguars. He probably will run a slightly more aggressive cover 2, less MLB deep drops. quick on the draw. FROM MY PHONE TOO!!!

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 02:34 PM) Really what owners are clearly worse than Sarver? He traded the #7 pick in 2004 to the Bulls (Luol Deng) for cash because he didn't want to pay the luxury tax. He came into a situation where he had a team set up to win be a perennial championship contender and ran it into the ground because he was so cheap. His first year there they had Nash, Joe Johnson, Marion, and Stoudemire plus a bunch of good 3 pt shooters so basically a perfect fit for D'Antoni's style of play. They made the Western Conference finals but int he offseason Sarver pissed off Joe Johnson during contract negotiations because he was so cheap so they traded Johnson. They then trade their 2006 first round pick (Rajon Rondo) for a 2007 first round pick that they later sold (Rudy Fernandez). They also traded Kurt Thomas along with their 2008 and 2010 first round picks for a second round pick in order to save money. Robert Sarver being cheap single handedly cost the Suns a shot at multiple championships when his team was set up to be a perennial title contender. How many owners can you say that about? Donald Sterling

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 12:39 PM) BTW, The Raiders had a ridiculous O-Line when Trestman was there. Better hope they finally make some improvements in that area. Barrett Robbins was ridiculous for sure. Too soon?

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:28 AM) Well between Kromer and Cavanaugh, they are both guys Trestman actually coached with previously. Kromer and Trestman coached at the same time with the Raiders. Cavanaugh and Trestman coached at the same time with the 49ers. So it seems that Trestman really values actually having worked with the people. Well yea, that is how most if not all coaches roll. A lot of Lovies staff worked with him with the Rams and Tampa

I always enjoyed when i was blowing out the computer on my franchise mode and all the sudden it decided it had enough. Pick 6, Pick 6, sack, sack, and all the sudden a 35 point blowout is a score and onside kick from becoming a game. And they have the ball.

QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 09:34 AM) Mike Morse. Former White Sox prospect, who was busy here developing at the same time the organization was taking Brian Anderson and, as some here would insist, were ruining him. Because they're so bad at developing people. Would you rather have kept him and not acquired Sweaty Freddy?

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 09:18 PM) I think the Bears fans were lied to, Mgmt said that money wouldn't be a issue with the new hire. The Bears hired a guy that the Browns didn't even want. I think the Bears got the worst hire out of all the new HC. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 5, 2013 -> 03:18 PM) Trestman will be a nice addition to the Bears.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 04:20 PM) Kyle, I have actual experience with this stuff. Ive worked with IL Attorney General, FBI because our firm has had a few clients that have been ripped off by online scams. You would be shocked at how much money these "women" are able to get out of men before they realize that they are just being ripped off. Badger You are assuming money was scammed here. As far as anyone knows right now, there has been no money motive at all. At that point, you have to say WTF is this and why? You are scrambling to try and make sense of it like any of us are, and in trying to make sense of it you are making up these possible outlandish scenarios that just dont make sense when nobody is profiting from it. I understand the lengths people go to scam money just as much as you do Badger, I work in credit card fraud. I see it EVERY DAY just like you. Remember my comment about lexis nexis? I use it just like you do.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) Im now starting to think it was a scam on Te'o. Not sure how Thamel missed it. It makes sense with what the Cardinals guy said. They were using this girl's troubles to try and get money from people. At first killing off the gf doesnt make sense, but think of it this way. She wasnt real. Te'o starts pushing her to come to his games. That wont work. So you kill her off, and you start telling Te'o about these letters she wrote him etc, hoping that he will take care of you because of his love for her. Pretty twisted. I think when you have to add so many different parts to the story to make it somewhat believeable(and even then, not very believeable at all), then you have to go back to not believing any of it. There are so many people involved in this, his parents and brother, the university people. I just cannot help but think that the type of scam they are claiming this to be is not that complex.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) I'd rather miss a show than watch SD. And if it's a Bears game, I'd rather hit the closest bar for the HD than stay at home and watch SD. F*ck SD. Disclaimer: I did watch like 10 minutes of Jackass in SD last night, but Jackass is so great it doesn't apply to rules. Of course SD isnt preferable, but when it is storming I usually dont want to go out to a bar to watch a game. Or, at night before bed. But the DVR always helps mitigate it as well

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 03:15 PM) No, but their stronger bench will help them win the division. That's what matters. Im not arguing with you that the Sox will beat Detroit, im arguing with you that the Sox will only win 72 games.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) I'd rather have Flowers on the bench over whoever our backup C is. Compare our bench to what the Tigers have So the tigers bench is worth -13 wins to the Sox?

does 200 Ks add up to -13 wins? Hahn should be elevated to god status for unloading Levigne, Nickelback and Linkin Park

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 02:26 PM) There was always cap room for those moves, it's just whether the Bears wanted to spend for those guys. Remember what happened with Briggs...he expected a bigger deal than he got offered, he went out, took his time, and came crawling back to the Bears to take the deal they originally offered because no one else wanted to pay him. There can be room for some things and not for others. The Bears could have gone after several O-Linemen last year, but didn't...instead they got Forte and Marshall as the things they spent money on, in addition to some secondary depth. I dont remember that happening at all. I remember him showing up to the GM meetings with Rosenhaus and the 49ers getting very interested until the Bears threatened tampering charges. Then the Bears got serious with him and a deal got done.

How many of us sat here saying the Briggs extensions would never happen because of Cap room, or the Forte extension would never get done, Urlacher, etc. The Bears find ways to get what they want.
