  1. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 11:15 AM) He looked really good for not being in football shape. Had great pocket presence, was good making throws after scrambling, really only had 1 bad throw all night. Methinks he will be available if the bears end up needing him again. Hopefully they do not ever need him
  2. i liked him last season. I wonder why the Bucs cut him though
  3. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 10:39 AM) Reported Bears cuts so far: McCown McCoy Golden Clutts Armando Allen (meaning Booker likely to win 3rd RB job). Reported Bears additions: Okoye Wait, what? Really? They got him back?
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:05 AM) Yes. And that is why he's gone. Doesn't necessarily mean that he's wrong on the "audible" issue, but it does mean that he was at the least failing to do his job, and that he deserved to be replaced. I think that is part of the reason he is wrong. He is forcing an offense in that isnt working, and giving his QB no escape even when the QB realizes it will end up in a massive fail.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:57 AM) My response here is: "the Bears getting totally blown up was the other big failing of Martz's system: assuming he still had a vintage 2001 Orlando Pace on his O-Line". Dont you think Martz should have recognized that? You cant use a playbook designed for top 10 players at all offensive positions if you dont have top 10 players at all offensive positions. That is my biggest criticism of Martz, KYP.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 06:16 PM) Jadeveon Clowny‏@JadeveonClowny Since its Vanderbilt's QB's birthday if this gets 500 retweets I'll tell him happy birthday after I sack him. Did he sack the QB? ESPN doesnt have defensive statistics up
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) SC looked like garbage. Defensively they are athletic but undisciplined and the play calling was suspect. I thought Lattimore looked good, but I was worried when he reached down for his knee a few times, maybe thats why they decided not to run him more? If he's 100% like they claim there was literally no reason to ever throw the ball and they probably blow Vandy out. cough*oleballcoach*cough
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 07:38 AM) Just pause and think about next year when VMart is back and they legitimately have to put one of them in the field all the time. I bet they try and ride it out and keep Cabrera at third again and DH Vmart. At least for one season
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:04 AM) I'm not sure he's wrong and that audibles aren't vastly overrated, if you have a well designed playbook. Not allowing audibles probably is a pretty decent strategy...if you have a QB that really trusts his coordinator. Defenses at this point do such a good job of disguising their packages on 90% of the plays that if you're audibling out because of something you see before the snap, that setup probably isn't what the defense is doing anyway. But...the QB has to be able to trust the coordinator and the system. If the QB thinks a run would work better than the called pass, he needs to know that he can still get the ball out and have the receiver open where he's supposed to be. If the QB doesn't trust that, then he's going to get frustrated if he can't switch the play. QBs are taught to read defenses the same way defenses are taught to read offenses. How many times did we see the last few season the bears get totally blown up at the line or Cutler get destroyed because the defense knew what they were going to do? The Giants game specifically, you could tell they knew what was coming, and Jay had no choice but to take it. The QB needs to trust the coordinator of course, but the coordinator should also trust the QB to make a change when necessary in order to save his ass
  10. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 10:59 PM) Barring bookers injury being bad he better be on the team over allen. Its going to be so nice that the bears will audible now. I still cant believe Martz's stupid idea. Warner made him believe it is the best idea ever
  11. Chicago White Sox: Making 5+ ERA No Name Pitchers look like Cy Young since forever
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 10:32 AM) A random thought popped into my head this morning: what if the replacements are being this terrible on purpose in order to bolster the refs' leverage? I dont know why they would, what would they gain?
  13. already some classic names making drop in appearances Roll out the red carpet
  14. QUOTE (balfanman @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) I didn't even realize that he was pregnant ! Lol, thats why it says Paternity, not Maternity
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 05:25 PM) Are we getting one of these a day now? I could have watched significantly more of that. That scene leads directly into the scene where he punches the bag off the chain
  16. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 07:30 AM) To me this is a pretty important game. If they win this one, then there is no way they can leave the Detroit series not in first place even if they get swept. I think it could do great damage to the psyche of the team if we went to Detroit and they swept us out of first place. Last time that happened, it actually had the reverse effect. If anything this team has shown it can bounce back from seemingly devastating losses
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 07:20 AM) Was that ever 100% confirmed? I thought some sources reported Span said no, some sources said the Reds backed off. I dont know, some reports say he did, some say he didnt. Lets be honest here, why exactly would the Reds back off? He would look really nice at the top of their lineup.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 07:02 AM) Indeed. The fact this thread is here and its not a joke just shows how successful this year has been. The Sox are going into September, the final month, in first place. I had them losing at least 90 games. Props to KW, Robin and everybody involved for making me feel proud to be a white sox fan again. Jesus. How awful was ozzie? It's his fault I became so evil. Thank god one of the worst managers the sport has ever seen is failing somewhere else. This is gonna be good
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 03:12 AM) How could they let him walk if he has a guaranteed contract at least through the end of this year? That's partly why they considered dumping Span, and they let Cuddyer, Kubel and Nathan go, not to mention Hardy and Punto. It wasnt considered, it was done. Span nixed it
  20. Zach Britton vs Jose Quintana 11:35 CST Early Game Especiale! Lets build a little momentum going towards Detroit and continue swinging those bats like we saw yesterday GO SOX!!!!
  21. So what does greg think about the Tigers losing to KC. I thought it was an impossible feat
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) Holland not fooling anyone Tell him he is facing the Sox, not the Tigers
