  1. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 05:51 PM) Possibly Damon? Nothing official. But Cleve's might release the Caveman. Good friends with AJ This is the EXACT SAME ISSUE. The sox need to replace Olmedo. Not Danks.
  2. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) Hudson is sitting around doing nothing right now. Could be used as a pinch hitter for Beckham. When you do things like this, carrying around a no-defense OF/DH/Pinch hitter that cannot run anymore, you get screwed over late in games. Thanks but no thanks, maybe 4 years ago
  3. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 05:39 PM) Can the Red Sox - Tigers game be seen on TV in the Chicago land area? ESPN game of the week
  4. QUOTE (GO CHI SOX! @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) The Red Sox placed Nick Punto on waivers today. He would be a better option than Hudson at this point... 2009 .228 /.337 /.284/.621 2010 .238 /.313/.302/.615 2011 .278 /.388/.421/.809 2012 .210/.315/.286/ .600 When you replace crap with crap, you still have crap
  5. Looks like Amendola is like "I wouldnt really read that letter if I were you"
  6. please, nobody tell KW that Abreu is available
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 07:36 AM) The Boston field used to be notoriously bad for draining. Did they ever Sodfather it? Im pretty sure he redid the field. But i think it is like Wrigley in that he can only do so much because of how old the plumbing is. IIRC Wrigley had extremely narrow drain pipes under the field that could not be ripped out, so he had to install multiple drain tanks throughout the field in order to hold excess water and drain it in a timely fashion. But once those tanks get full in a large storm, it still backfills onto the field.
  8. i will be happy when Reed starts nailing down saves without making them interesting. Loved Liriano tonite, he looked really good. AJ was nails tonite
  9. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) Couldn't we have matched this offer? Hope Hempster does bad with the Ringers. what part of "HE DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR THE WHITE SOX" doesnt make sense to you? Let me put it in SOG format Ryansterski doesnt want to play for fly snazzysox
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) Rosenthal said no from the yankees QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 01:34 PM) source says dempster changed his mind 1 minute later, told #cubs he was blindsided by finding out about trade by #agent, will now veto #yankees trade LMAO i was kidding
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) Sounds like Rip Hamilton would be a nice fit for Rose Maybe in 2004. When he didnt take 70 percent of the season off due to strained lady parts
  12. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) Ty Lawson is an absolute beast, you're crazy if you don't want him. He shoots 40% from 3, his efficiency is elite, he can handle the ball and take over games, he's athletic and young He likes the ball in his hand? so what, he'll learn to play off it. No big deal. The upsides totally outweigh the negatives elite, athletic, and young. Need youtube
  13. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 01:34 PM) So it's okay for a poster to go off on some conspiracy laden tangent as if the Sox are so inept that they're not trying to protect their most valuable asset, but it's not okay to tell a crybaby to quit crying? No, it isnt. So stop insulting people.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS source says dempster told the #cubs he will agree to a #yankees trade source says dempster changed his mind 1 minute later, told #cubs he was blindsided by finding out about trade by #agent, will now veto #yankees trade
  15. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) Oh my, really? We weren't a very athletic team on offense in 2010-2011, we had no guards that could run the floor with Derrick. Zero, none, nada. That's probably why we rely on our center to run the floor a lot of the times. I remember thats how he rolled his ankle. He's a C running the floor and trying to play PG at the same time. Im sure with this ATHLETIC bench that we have acquired, Noah will no longer have to run the floor and he will never be subjected to rolling his ankle ever again.
  16. QUOTE (balfanman @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 10:58 AM) I don't really want to come off as being down on our pitching staff. I think that we have a good starting staff, maybe the best as a group in the A. L., but right now it just looks like a train wreck waiting to happen. I hope that Quintana & Sale get over their respective "dead arms", Peavy never has his "dead arm". Humber & Floyd pitch as well as they are capable of pitching, Lariano pitches like a man on a mission (for a new contract), and Danks has a miraculous healing happen and pitches like an "ACE". Wouldn't it be great to be arguing 2 months from from now on which ones of the 7 deserve to be in the playoff rotation more than the others. see, I dont think the wheels are falling off on everyone else like you do, but I keep seeing Danks getting mentioned. He is not coming back, the Sox arent saying it outright, but they have already thrown the words "surgery possible" out there, and every time he takes one step forward he takes three back. They have already taken steps to cover his spot in the rotation starting with Liriano
  17. QUOTE (balfanman @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 09:07 AM) Better than those guys when? When those guys are "on", or close to it? Or better than those guys right now? It may not take much more than a corpse to pitch better than some of the performances lately. I don't know who as I really don't follow other teams that closely. There are what, about 12 - 13 teams that would consider themselves out of it by now. There must be at least one of them with a #3 - 4 starter that could be gotten. These guys would be far from "ACE" quality, but maybe good enough to keep their team in the game for a few weeks. I know you are all about doubting the pitchers, but Floyd has been pretty good his last six starts. his WHIP has been high because of a lot of walks, but I think his ERA is something like 1.60
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 08:12 AM) Or he spells his name wrong... or likes the mary jane
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 04:44 PM) Didn't Jackson's yearly ERA drop from >5 to I believe he flirted with a few no-no's in his first couple starts too
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 06:19 AM) Are people actually excited about Nate Robinson? Sometimes it's hard to reads tone on the boards. And great atheletes don't mean they are great basketball players. Eddie Robinson was a great athlete but a crap bball player. There is a laundry list of guys like that. Pretty much all basketball players are great athletes. There are a few(eddy curry, cough cough) that manage to stay in the league with below average athleticism(for an NBA playe), but even those guys could run just about any guy on this board off a court.
  21. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 10:27 PM) There is a reason I follow this guy on Twitter, I just can't remember why. I feel like he MAY have scooped the Danks extension before anyone else. Let me dig deep in to his tweets. It was because of the Rios thing last season. I dont think he scooped Danks
  22. that guy swore up and down that the Brewers wanted Rios last season
  23. Both players caught saying good bye to teammates
