  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 09:42 AM) 2011-2012 Salaries per team. Bulls "Going for it" - $66,746,162 ZOMG LUXURY TAX - $70,000,000 Lakers - $93,945,748 Heat - $77,133,080 Celtics - $80,768,561 Mavericks - $70,077,245 Spurs - $73,699,420 Magic - $77,506,707 Some people live in reality where they see a team like the Lakers spending $25 million more than the Bulls without fear of the luxury tax so they can compete. Or a f***ing s*** city like Miami outspending the Bulls who have the longest sellout streak in the NBA. All of you fall in line and think the Bulls are great and doing what they can, while in reality they continually spit in the face of the League's best fan-base (proven) while teams like the Philadelphia 76er's out-spend them ($68,932,083). Sure, there's something to be said for smart spending, but there's also something to be said for willing to take on stars with big contracts that JUST MIGHT push you over the dreaded luxury tax threshold. It's a joke, but the fans continue to tow the team line and act like JR truly wants a championship. like
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 09:17 AM) I find this funny because the mavs just had an offseason very similar to the bulls '10 offseason, but you are acting like they are the bees knees right now. Well the Mavs are 2 years removed from a title, and the Bulls are 14. Forgive me for being pissed that Mayo was axquired for the same price as Hinrich
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) I dont understand this, are you saying that they only pretended to want to bring in Wade and LeBron to tease the fans into thinking they want to contend? No, i am saying nothing ever happens. The Bulls continually tell us to wait another year, another two years, everything is according to plan. You are looking at one small part of the past 14 seasons. Lebron and Wade left everyone high and dry, sure, but this management never takes any risks, never tries to make significant moves. They fall in love with their core, sell it to us as great, and hope everythign works out perfectly.
  4. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 07:46 AM) Jason Marquis has won 3 straight for the Padres. ERA is 3.48. That's gotta appeal to someone looking for a cheap veteran. That someone better not be the Sox
  5. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 07:04 AM) the franchise is that current? At the end of the show it had Hanley being traded. It is really unbelievable, they are editing the show within days of the situation
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 06:47 AM) Guillen, Beinfest and most of his teammates wanted Ramirez out. And Eovaldi will become a member of their starting rotation. Joey Cora, is that you?
  7. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) I'm pretty sure we did attempt to "go for it". Lebron and Wade and Dwight didn't want to come here, how is that Jerrys fault? Just wait until 2014 and they extend the carrot again
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:58 PM) Exactly. Financially they are run the same way. They spend as much as their revenues and the league will allow them to. And part of Dwyers grand point over the two articles is that Jerry spends enough to keep us sucked in, but not enough to put the foot on the throat and go for it. He pointed out 6 different seasons where basically the exact same thing happened with 3 different regimes(Krause, Pax, Gar), and that was "Just wait until XXXX year, we will go for it then". The comparison with the Sox was poor, but he was right to point out the quote "Baseball is American, Basketball is just a game" because from the outside looking in, it really looks like Reinsdorf treats it that was, with simultaneously pisses me off and makes me happy as hell.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 06:32 PM) I can see why a team would want him for the rest of the season but to give up a lot for a rental? Idiotic. Greinke is a nutcase as well. I'd trade for him, but it will be sad if the Sox have to give up Tank or somebody who actually might make it big in the bigs. Would they take Beckham and Danks' brother for him? You have no idea what the going rate is on him, so dont freak out until the deal is done.
  10. Remember back when the thought of the Twins coming to town meant that they would probably eviscerate the Sox in every way imaginable, and pretty much end any hope of contending? That is why beating on this bad team is fun
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:59 PM) They are one of the winningest franchises and were rebuilt into a title contender each of the past 2 years. This is the NBA, the vast majority of the league would be extremely envious of the Bulls. You also have to be careful you don't go crazy and turn into the Knicks. Knicks always pushed and so far it has done nothing but hinder them (vs. help them). I really think the Bulls would have beaten the heat. Not sure how they do against OKC, but this would all be a moot point if Rose doesn't go down. Rose now is down, you can't just magically rebuilt and make things better overnight. The reality is the management you are bashing built a legit title contender this past year (and the vast majority of NBA analyst would agree, based upon their commentary all of last year). How would the Lakers look if Kobe went down for the year. Same with the Heat and Lebron. Nothing they could do would make them contenders again. Im not saying I expect them to contend this season. I know they will not contend, you take Rose off this team and of course they will not be able to compete. As I continue to state, this offseason should be about assembling a good roster so that when Rose comes back, they can take off(in 2014) Instead, they are tying themselves down with absolute crap and expecting me to buy into it. I do not believe they could have beaten the heat this past season. It doesnt matter because we will never know, but staying status quo because you THINK they could have beaten the heat is a horrible way to construct your team. I totally agree they should throw the kitchen sink at Dwight and make every effort to sign him, despite his insistence that he does not want to come to Chicago.
  12. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:28 PM) You're like opposite me, reverse RZZZA from Bizarro world Where I see the silver lining, you see the dark cloud I do not like what I am seeing. Ask any regular member of this thread if I have ever acted this way at any point and they will tell you no I will say it again, we as Bulls fans deserve better.
  13. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) lol what? I have a hard time bashing our owner when the team he owns is better than 85% of the rest of the league, and is the 3rd most successful franchise in NBA history. I know, they are perfect and faultless in your eyes. You don't have to keep reiterating it, I look forward to the next glowing report about this offseason
  14. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:02 PM) Reinsdorf brought 7 championships to Chicago... Lol. Ok
  15. More Kelly Dwyer. This time, how Reinsdorf treats the Bulls as opposed to how he treats the Sox "Baseball is American. Basketball is just a game"
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) Who is saying that? nobody specifically, but the next time Dempster pitches in Wrigley as a Cub, do you think he gets booed or a standing ovation? Should he stay, of course
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 11:58 AM) Dempster isn't making any fans with all of this. And his Harry Caray sucks, too. In the front office maybe. But fans eat this stuff up. "OMG He wants to stay a cub for life!"
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 11:04 AM) I wonder when MLB takes over the Marlins. When Loria gets bored
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 10:59 AM) So was Sebastian Stan (Bucky), but for Hulk it probably means solo movie. Well yeah, but Bucky returns as the Winter Soldier, so he is also basically getting his own movie too It comes down to this, Hulk is getting his own movie(s) AND will make some guest appearances with Ruffalo as Bruce Banner.
  20. So when is the Guillen family mouthpiece going to write a scathing article about Mean Mr Loria and Evil Larry Beinfest?
  21. @notkennywilliams has been pretty funny this morning
  22. So what are they paying their rotation now? 400 mil?
  23. Again, KW never did anything like this to Ozzie. I am very interested to see how he reacts to his team being stripped down around him due to poor performance, because it has never happened before. If KW handed Ozzie a team like that, KW would be(against all common sense) trying to add right now.
  24. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 12:06 AM) If crowds hadn't adored Mark Ruffalo, I could see that. But Mark Ruffalo has them reconsidering a Hulk solo film and is one of Marvel's big guns. I see Hawkeye being phased out before Hulk. It isnt reconsidered, it is in the works. I believe Ruffalo signed a 5-6 movie deal with Marvel. Edit: It is 6
