QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:33 PM) At some point, you have to accept circumstances and stop whining. And by 'you', I mean every Bulls fan everywhere. Yeah, Derrick tore his ACl. Yeah, it limited our options. Yeah, it sucks. Lets move on now and can we try to be a little optimistic about changing our bench around for the better now? f*** that. Im not going to be optimistic about this. If other contenders were signing these players I would be laughing at them. Im not even factoring in Derrick here. This offseason is dogs*** and you know it, you just wont admit it. There is such a thing as trying to get better without Derrick around.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) I don't know what people expect out of bench players. We're signing bench players and people act like we should be signing super stars. Bellinelli and Foye are an answer, they're an answer to bench depth, that's all. People were clamoring that we need more offense, and now that we're trading a bit of our defense for offense off the bench, people are still unhappy. wth? Some of us have higher standards than 2nd rounders and NBDL standouts. Basically, we are unhappy that this team went ultraconservative, made no effort whatsoever in the offseason to do ANYTHING. You, however, seem to be reveling in it. Yays for Malcolm Thomas!

I bet Curley, Spanier, and Schultz have a perpetual state of dry mouth after Sandusky was found guilty and now this. They are hung out to dry before their trials even started

No time like the present to drive Liriano's value down in the trade market and then snatch him up from the Twins tomorrow GO SOX!!!

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 09:25 PM) I hadn't noticed, but I imagine playing starters minutes will get him into shape fast. Nothing builds stamina like repetition. I guess we will see.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) If "Not being able to be in shape" hurt him this season, it might well hurt him next year too if he's backing off on workouts to avoid getting hurt before his contract is finalized. You could see it early in the season. He was huffing and puffing, hands on his knees just a few minutes after entering the game.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) I don't think he regressed defensively. His rebound increased from his rookie year and his fouls per game remained more or less the same. Defense is one thing Asik is really good at. It's justified to criticize him for regressing offensively, but to say he regressed defensively too? Nah, I don't agree with that. He finally found his wind at the end of the year and was contributing solid minutes, but for the first half of the season he was horrific. Thibs had him on an extremely short leash, he was good for an instant foul as soon as he entered the game. I was really disappointed in Asik this past season, I expected better.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 11:59 AM) Whats that make it now, 9 Lions players arrested? s*** man, the whole team is gonna be suspended. This'll make it easier on us. Berry was arrested TWICE, as were LeShoure and Fairley

It bothers me that the lockout is listed as a reason why Asik didnt do so well this season. Asik came into camp clearly out of shape, and while he ended the previous season breaking his leg, it really looked like he did minimal work in the offseason. His need was to improve his offensive game, and that got worse, his time on the floor got reduced because he regressed defensively, he was slap fouling consistently and was out of position a lot. I liked the potential of Asik, but for the paper Houston is handing him, they can have him.

QUOTE (Caesar @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) Is it my fault that we have no farm system? Is it my fault our GM trades away prospects and mortgages the future? What's the point of playing and paying someone who only has negligible trade value? This org. needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. I've been saying this for years. This going for it every year isn't working. No, it is your fault that you show up to this site and bring nothing but negative comments. Good or bad games, your comments are the same. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 12:30 PM) I wonder if he'll use the elbow excuse again to explain his suckiness this season? He's literally been one of the worst pitchers in baseball over the last year. But but but perfect game -

QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) Dont get me wrong, im all for Marvel to keep pumping out movies because I love those kind of movies. I am just not all that interested in Ant-Man or Black Panther. Ide rather them come out with a Deadpool movie or get things rolling out faster for the movies im really anticipating. X Men Origins: Wolverine derailed Deadpool so bad it isnt even funny. I think they are waiting for everyone to forget what they did to his character

Time to stop hitting like ninnies and get a little offensive flow going. -
QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 10:42 AM) I know, I was pretty much just agreeing with him and throwing in my own little note. I just dont think these obscure Marvel characters are going to have anywhere near the success that we have seen with whats already come out. I dont think they expect some of the lesser characters to have the success of cap/iron man/spiderman etc, but I think Marvel finds it important to at least give some of them movies to see how they test with audiences. Im sure some of them will bomb and will not be touched again, but I think there will also be some surprise hits. Ant-Man and Black Panther arent as obscure as you think they are. Guardians of the Galaxy, that is pretty obscure. But, just like the comics themselves, these characters are there and there are writers/directors who want to tell their story.

20/7 (or 7/20): White Sox @ Detroit... IT'S ON!!!!

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) Nobody ever really said Peavy was an ace anymore. He's been great, he's Top 5 in the AL in quality starts and he's had horrible run support. That said, he's been more and more hittable as the season has progressed. He'll have those innings where he struggles to put away hitters and his offspeed pitches aren't sharp and they hang out over the plate and get tatooed. It happened again tonight. He'll never be the same pitcher who threw 93-96 consistently, and he'll never be the ace of a staff, but he's a super solid 2 guy now and a great 3 guy in a rotation. He's a bulldog, he eats innings and you have to drag him out of the game at your own peril, but he's not a Cy Young caliber pitcher after that surgery...but he's doing the best he possibly can under the circumstances, he has pushed himself as far as he can humanly go without another injury. And even then, he held down a pretty potent offense today. It was just a mistake(beaning Berry) and another woeful lack of run support, albeit against the reigning MVP/CY Young. Tough to fault Peavy tonite. The Sox werent gonna win with 2 runs -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 09:18 PM) You pick out my post to use as an example of negativity when Caesar and that other guy were proclaiming the game over for the second night in a row before the fifth inning? I'm the optimist of all time compared to them. Didnt you just ask why someone isnt putting up a "Peavy is not an Ace" thread like the Buehrle threads from like 2004? And you accuse me of picking out negative posts? At least im picking out one that just happened, not one from 8 years ago -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) Sox got the 2 runs and then suddenly Detroit woke up and dominated. Bad game. I'm surprised nobody has started a thread, "Peavy is not an ace." like all the Buehlre is not an ace threads of the past. 3-5 road trip; worst trip in a while. Man, you would think we just faced the best pitcher in the AL. Oh, wait
