  1. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 11:32 AM) I'm amazed that on this board, and many other pages where the Bears are the topic of discussion, there is this huge battle with the Lions that I find quite silly. Articles about is this the new rivalry, articles about how Johnson is so afraid of Peppers now. It's almost as if the Bears and their fans have to get so much joy beating up there little brother who found some success recently, because they know they can't beat up the real team which is the Packers....... It's almost like by starting 5-0 they stole the Bears candy of being the 2nd best in the division, and it really pissed the Bears off........shouldn't they be more pissed and start trying to be more competitive with Green Bay? Maybe stop with all this we respect them they respect us and get angry and pissed with the Pack?I'm a 49ers fan, and they have had a great year so far which has been a blast watching after so many years of pure crap. But as good as they've been, reality is there slim to none chance they can compete with Green Bay right now. How would it help the Bears if I got pissed at the Packers? I dont like that meathead mentality. I respect Rodgers a lot, the guy is playing at an uber-elite level. The entire offense is in a crazy rhythm, it is hard to deny that. I want the Packers to lose, but getting pissed at them isnt going to make the Bears any better and it wont make the Packers any worse. And the Bears know that they have a date with the Packers at the end of the season, they know it is important even though it probably wont be for first In regards to the Lions, they play dirty and talk a bunch of s***. They got their shots in a month ago and all the sudden want to act like b****es when it comes back their way. Too f***ing bad, time to grow up and act like a professional team and stop trying to act like schoolyard bullies. They didnt take any candy, they gave some bulletin board material, and here the bears are 5 weeks later, tied with them in second place.
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 16, 2011 -> 08:39 AM) Aren't the Bears 6-3? You guys should be more happy about the Bears right now. Sure they aren't as good as the Packers, but 6-3 is nice. like i said earlier, the bears could win the superbowl and people like jenks will call it a fluke no matter what happens. its just the way it is
  3. he made exactly the argument i expected from people who claim its all fluke/luck. The Bears arent good only lucky/they never play anyone/benefit from hall of famers/take away urlacher and they suck/ turnovers are luck/superbowl run was luck/ditka is awesome. the end I like Lovie, i recognize he isnt perfect, but nobody could be that lucky for that long
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 12:23 PM) This Lovie "love" is freaking hilarious. The guy is incredibly average at best. His in-game decisions are right up there with Andy Reid. Remove Devin Hester and a top 5 defense for the majority of his tenure and this team misses the playoffs every freaking year. Lovie is the luckiest coach in the league, no one else is even close. Look at some of the impressive wins this year against Atl and now Det. Defensive TO's into points and special teams. Fluke, fluke, fluke. That's the story of the Bears' success during his tenure. That's true for the SB run (mostly fluke) and last years NFC Champ run (all fluke). thank you for proving my Fluke point. You are exhibit A
  5. http://dlvr.it/wB7vB that sound you hear? it is Sanduskys lawyer screaming "stfu jerry!"
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) He's waaaay better than Iron Mike yet Ditka is a legend in Chicago, Lovie needs a SB win to cement his place in Bears football lore. Bears fans would still call it a fluke.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 09:00 AM) The biggest quibble I have here is that you state Manning's age makes him impossible to trade. His contract would make it challenging, but look, this is Peyton Manning we're talking about. Hypothetically, you're the GM of the Vikings. Or the Redskins. Or the Dolphins. Or the Seahawks. Or any other team that has gone through years of sub-par QB play (other than the Raiders who have already traded away their draft). Arranging the cap space would be a challenge, but are you honestly going to tell me that you'd look at an offer for Peyton Manning for 4 years and say "Naw, he's too old"? The only reason you'd say no is if the neck problems were so severe that his career was likely over.Joe Montana was tradeable. Peyton Manning is tradeable. and I believe that is the gray area that the Colts are stuck in. Do you cut bait and possibly risk trading one of the greatest QBs of all time when he possibly has another couple years in him? People call Luck a once in a generation QB, but he wouldnt be the first QB to bust out after being drafted #1 with that label. It happens
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 15, 2011 -> 09:08 AM) earlier in this thread someone posted the list of names on the board of directors of that foundation, and there were some very heavy hitters on that list. I def. recall Andy Reid being on it. Yep. And I can see all of them taking great steps to completely disassociate themselves from it after this
  9. something tells me that the Second Mile foundation will not survive this
  10. I cannot help but think that Sandusky isnt doing himself any favors with that interview. Showered and touched and played around.....40 accounts of sexual attacks...8 victims named, more have come forward....yet you say you arent guilty. Sometimes shutting up is the better course of action
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 04:57 PM) We can't all be doctors. But you can. im very disappointed in you right now bmags. very.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) Matt Schaub has a hand injury too? what do you mean? lisfranc injury is in the foot
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 02:55 PM) I'm pretty sure Fairley did get flagged for excessive roughness. excessive roughness, lol. that sounds funny
  14. Kessler has been known to be the one causing the most trouble in the negotiations
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 01:10 PM) The players are just getting terrible advice. They are not going to get a better deal than the one they've been offered. The Agents are dictating the shots here
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) Depends on how bad it actually was...it was described as arthroscopic surgery, if it was just cleaning up a little bit, then maybe the recovery could be short. I kind of doubt his recovery time will be a week when his initial recovery time from a dislocated kneecap was 2-4 weeks, and here we are 7 weeks later and he still hasnt made it back. The bears arent going to rush him back
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 12:33 PM) This is hopefully where we'll find out that Carimi is ready to play on Sunday. i dont think so, he had knee surgery last week.
  18. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 08:52 PM) Cutler attempted 6 passes in the second half. Maybe I should clarify what I meant, the Bears didnt go to him at all in the second half when i thought they should have. I dont think any of those 6 passes were towards Bennett
  19. The offense was looking good until midway through the 2nd quarter. Then Martz started getting cute and fancy and the offense lost all of its rythm. Also, Bennett disappeared in the second half.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 07:49 PM) That looks like an excellent movie and Christian Bale is one hell of an actor, but I bet that guy is a first class douche in person. He has admitted as such in interviews. He doesnt like the popularity in public so he acts like an asshole so people leave him alone
  21. Chris Williams had emergency wrist surgery after the game, they said he suffered the same injury that cost Urlacher his 2009 season. I didnt hear one thing about it during the game, but apparently Edwin Williams filled in for a majority of the game
  22. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 07:03 PM) The Lions really are a classless team and it all starts with Schwartz. The guy cant control his players and these cheap shots are hurting them in games finally. Even with the terrible officiating they still managed to shoot themselves in the foot with the lack of control. i dont think Schwartz fails to control it, i think he encourages it. Wasnt he the DC back when Haynesworth stomped on Andre Gurodes face? anyhow, great win for the Bears. They have really hit another gear since they lost to Detroit, and all of their deficiencies have been addressed since that game. Im not saying they are perfect, but they are a completely different team than the team we saw before the Tampa game. It is unfortunate that DJ got that personal foul and ejection. He didnt throw the first punch, but he threw the punch that everyone saw. You have to be more disciplined than that, going after the QB like that is probably going to cost him this week.
