QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) And whose bright idea was it to dump Pods after having a career year? He's batting .282 right now with 18 stolen bases. Pierre is now batting .248 with 25 stolen bases and 6 CS (which leads the league), his batting average has been going up starting around mid may after a completely brutal start that had me wanting Pierre dumped for a bag of balls. Pods is batting .282 with 18 stolen bases and 6 CS, and his batting average has been going down after having a torrid start which had his average above .300 until late may when he started coming back to his normal numbers. Lets stop acting like Pods would be saving our season right now if he was leading off. Pierre is the same player with a little bit better instincts on the basepaths, better defense, and less power.

Guillen, Williams almost come to blows during shouting match

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 12:59 PM) If the favored son tweeted that he isn't going to tweet any more about the Sox, that means dad and JR laid down some kind of law. Now whether Oz and KW can meet without punching each other is anybody's guess. I still say this is all about former big leaguers' egos. Oz was a much better player than KW and think he's knows more baseball than KW and they don't get along. Period. Im sorry, but "I was a better player than you were" isnt even entering the equation here, and it never did. You honestly think that Ozzie seriously threw this in Kennys face? Maybe greg, just maybe, they were actually arguing about this seasons disaster(record, performance, draft). Just a thought -
ESPN saying that Izzo is leaning towards taking the Cavs job, Im even reading some reports stating he already informed his players

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 01:39 AM) Notice Jim Leyland's kid got picked in the eighth round like KW's did, also. Seems like Round Eight is the wink, wink nepotism round. Ozzie's kid got screwed. Can't blame Oz for being pissed. The rich take care of each other normally. It's obvious the two hate each other. Two former ballplayers; Oz was much better than KW as a player and I'm sure he lets him know that on a regular basis. Ozzies kid got screwed? Because the Sox didnt draft him in the wink wink nepotism 8th round? Thats f***ing ridiculous greg, you dont draft players in certain rounds because their parents work for the team. You draft kids in certain rounds because their talents dictate what round they are drafted in, and obviously 22 rounds into the draft the White Sox were not the only team that felt that Ozney didnt have the talent necessary to be drafted earlier. -
HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!

yeah, Kane curled around the back of the net and back towards the benches and started pumping his arms, and I thought to myself "why are the flyers standing still? what is Kane doing? He looks like he scored, but the crowd, announcers, and even the production wasnt acting like he scored? So what the hell is going on?" What a crazy moment, very unforgettable -
Who knows, maybe someone will manage to make a video game movie that actually works. I like how the story seems to be about Scorpion for the most part. Reptile was downright creepy

I think it is tough to truly rate Silva. He has had success in the AL before, and he got paid, then got fat and happy. He absolutely sucked in a Mariners uniform, but the guy was in a revolving buffet line the entire time he was there. He looks like he took the offseason seriously this year and showed up to Cubs camp in shape, and he looks like a totally different pitcher now.

Wimpy called in and wished Hawk congrats tonite, I would say that they put whatever they had between them in the past. Good for both of them

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 06:41 AM) Maybe he was talking about his falling out with Wimpy I agree with this. I dont think anything else would have made him more uncomfortable and unwilling to talk about

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 11:19 PM) Is this true? Why isn't it receiving more play nationally? It is true. Nobody is talking about it because the play is over, it wasnt a game winner, and there isnt going to be a late review. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 06:48 PM) Hartnell dove for the loose puck and ended up in the crease. He was there when the puck went in. However, he did not impair Niemi's ability to stop the shot. By rule then, it's a good goal. This is your opinion, so Im not going to say you are wrong, but the way I saw it Hartnell directly impacted Niemi's ability to move to the other side of the net to deflect that rebound. Hartnell was laying against Niemi's leg and the puck went directly over Hartnells back. It was a slick veteran move to distract and disrupt the goalie, but the first thing that popped in my head when I saw the overhead replay was that Hartnell very much impacted the play from Niemi. -
Hasnt Izzo already been offered and turned down some NBA jobs that would be considered much better than the Cavs? I swear he has been courted multiple times and just doesnt want to give up his cozy spot at Mich St

QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 07:42 AM) There isnt a day that goes by that I dont pray to baby Jesus for Lebron James to become a Chicago Bull this off season. make sure you pray to Baby Jesus, and not the older one

Super mario galaxy 2 is awesome. That is all

well, the one guy standing next to the KO-ed guy tried to jump into the ring and swing at the wrestler. I like how the guy gets punched and his arms go straight out in true Looney Tunes fashion as he goes down
-
QUOTE (longshot7 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) If that wasn't bad enough, they have two 3rd generation wrestlers in there and they've completely changed their last names! McGillicuty is Mr. Perfect's son, Joe Hennig Harris is Windham Rotunda (grandson of Blackjack Mulligan & son of Mike Rotunda) I dont think he would of had a name change if Bret Dibiase didnt get hurt. They were being packaged as another legacy-type tag team before Dibiase tore up his knee

Especially given that Boras is his agent and he isnt making any noise about Crede. Joe must have decided that it isnt worth it to feel that way anymore

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) If Teahen was a FA after this season, I would say good riddance and I don't really care that he's gone. Yet, if he was on the Cubs you would be saying he is about to turn the corner and he was quite a steal
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) What does that mean? I'll take talent over attitude anyday. His attitude isn't exactly rotten, either. Who is going to replace him next year? Allen? Oh wait, we traded him. Viciedo (sp?)? Oh wait, he has a bad attitude and isn't any good either. I get the feeling some of you would still want Konerko gone even if he somehow whacked 40 homers this year. Keep devaluing your own, some of you Sox fans. speaking of devaluing your own

No Evans/Rampage talk? I know Rampage isnt going to have a lot to talk about after losing. He certainly didnt do what he said he would do.

Yesterday Tim Donaghy was interviewed by WEEI, and he was told who was going to be the refs for last nights game. His response? "Orlando better dust off their golf clubs"
-
QUOTE (dmbjeff @ May 29, 2010 -> 09:51 AM) He is batting .318 over his last 7 days. He is certainly showing some signs of breaking out. Nearly all struggling players rise to career norms by the end of the season, just as nearly all hot players(see Konerko), fall back to career norms. Now if we can just get Q, Alexei,Teahen to also get back to career norms, we may just have a shot at turning things around. the weird thing about Konerko is earlier this year it seemed his average wasnt all that great, but his power numbers were crazy. So maybe if Konerko "regresses" to the mean, his average will go up but his power numbers will drop off a bit.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 27, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) He's a fat pig who seems jealous of the players. I CAN'T STAND umps and referees like him. Get your fat ass back in the corner and do your job. We didn't pay to see you. If you want to be a star, then so something worthy of being a star. Umps and refs have WAY too much power in sports. With technology today, I honestly believe that we can get rid of them all together, or reduce their role dramatically. I have no use for them. That is the day my interest in baseball is reduced to almost nothing. A tech Ump would suck. human error and judgement is part of the game and makes it so anythign can happen on any given day.

I could care less about those player polls. There have been plenty of managers that are complete A-holes that have won many games.
