Nah I’m just posting my thoughts on the trade here I’m not really interested in finding ridiculous posts and calling them out and I never said the rebuild didn’t fail nor did I say I don’t feel they should rebuild. This front office shouldn’t be anywhere near this and I am absolutely within my rights to question their ability to scout when acquiring assets

I don’t think either of these guys compare to Monty or Schultz and the more I read on Quero the more I’m thinking closer to Mark Johnson than Narvaez. And honestly it’s hard for me to trust the Sox farm system to get them where they need to be, so it actually isn’t meaningless to me that their farm system sucks because they have similar issues developing players and now the Sox have to carry that load. I was looking for players on the cusp of being in the majors and they got players they need to develop

Do you honestly believe this tiger is changing its stripes. Like deep down you honestly believe the owner of this team is about to go for it like, say it out loud “Jerry is about to spend money and go for it” and see if you can finish the sentence with a straight face

They have to rebuild to a contending team. They are back to 2019 square one. They had Abreu as their little torch carrier through that and probably are dumb enough to think Luis would be happy to do the same thing

The point is Lucas should be signed by now, it should not have gotten to this point, and now they Sox are going to be replacing a starter regardless. They got no player that they can confidently say will be in the majors next season, and even if they do we are looking at a period of struggle like we already went through with Giolito. You wanna be happy about the prospects, fine, golf clap. I’m pissed about everything leading up to it, the fact that they got this out of the way first so they could concentrate on dealing lynn(good old Bruce said that on the score 20 minutes ago), and they traded with a team with almost as bad as a farm as our own

This is simply not true. It was reported that Giolito wanted long term and everything fell apart when they had to go to arbitration over a difference of 50k

I feel a little bit of “well we got something” in this thread and honestly that sucks even worse. The guy who fucked this up is trying to fix this and we are so whiplashed and becoming accepting. This is just awful on every level

This isn’t Harper and Machado because we are the sellers. Giolito was going to be dealt, it was happening. Machado and Harper were not happening

Are you seriously sitting here defending this front office. I’m not going to argue scenarios that might or might not happen. The deadline is in four days and the Sox just dealt one of the top available arms like they just wanted to get it done, traded with a farm system marginally better than our own, and you wanna be like no this is fine and great look we got maybe savages. f*** this and f*** them, this front office sucks at their jobs

Yea no I’m gonna keep my criticism the same. This is way early and they just want to be done with it, this sucks and f*** them

Love to make the first move in a sellers market for starters without waiting closer to the deadline until teams are in full need mode and ready to part with better prospects

I mean, working Joes like me and you are hard pressed to compare our lives with a professional athlete. I can’t think of many athletes that have had back/spinal/neck fusion surgery and came back fine. In fact I can’t think of any really

While this is true, his first choice (hinch) was denied him before they hired TLR, and we all wanted Hinch. Doesn’t make the Grifol hire better but at least he wanted a coach that we all agreed was the best for that group

And then they did nothing to address any of the problems and removed players from the team that was mediocre and replaced them with lesser players. This isn’t hard, TLR would be just as fucking bad with this roster and would have pissed us all off with bad head scratching moves by now while repeating after games how smart he is about things yea let’s keep playing the TLR revisionary game, it’s fun
