  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 09:59 AM) What kind of prediction is that? a noncommittal prediction
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 10:35 AM) No they are 32-16 since then if I recall, and that's awfully good. But my point is that our stretch of bad play really started on either July 1st (we're 14-14 since then) or the off day July 7th (10-12 since then), and Minnesota has only gained 3 and 2 games since those days. So it's not like they caught us because they played incredible, it's more that we are playing bad. See, thats where Im looking at. We handed them their butts and sat back and they jumped right back into the race. 32-16 is pretty incredible IMO, especially coming off a sweep at the hands of your main rival
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 10:32 AM) That's a myth. We're 14-14 since July 1st and they have gained 3 games, going 17-11. That's pretty good play, but nowhere near incredible. Is 17-11 their record since we swept them at the Cell?
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 09:34 AM) I believe it's been stated on here a few times, but the second half of 2005 wasn't as "horrid" as one would think. It was worse than the 1st half, but it had more to do with Cleveland's incredible play down the stretch. I want to say we were even pretty well above .500 for the second half. Similar to Minnesotas incredible play at the moment
  5. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) Jude Law and a Semester Abroad is one of my all times faves also. They are playing a post lollapalooza show either this friday or next at the Metro. Fly your aussie assie to Chicago and I will make time to go

    Montauk Monster

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 08:08 AM) Did you see on the Gawker website that other "montauk monsters" had been found? I wonder if raccoons wash ashore often or if something drove a bunch of them into the water. Im sure there are alot of monsters found on the beach. Everyone has a story when the first picture comes out. I would like to see some more pictures if there are any. At work I cant access gawker.com

QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 06:07 AM) What does a guy have to do to drink a couple of your homebrews? Can they be shipped? You have to be able to tolerate large doses of radiation

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 11:29 PM) oh hey good call kyle the sun shines on a dogs ass every once in a while QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 12:10 AM) So what the hell are raccoons doing in the ocean? He could have been scrounging through garbage cans on a pier and fallen into the ocean and drowned. Raccoons get themselves into trouble alot because of how inquisitive they are and how determined they are to get food.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 11:09 PM) I believe in using the term "Keystone Ice" you meant to say "Black Death." That's how it's been referenced to me before. You can also go with Icehouse if you are frisky or Steel Reserve if suicidal, but I'd rather not puke off of 2 beers because of how bad they are and rather just drink 15 or so s***ty cheap beers that I can atleast tolerate. When in college, toleration of beer quality wasnt really something I had to think about. The choices were 1. Will it get you drunk? and 2. Can you afford it? Does it taste good never really fit in there
  11. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:00 PM) I think Contreras will come back and help actually. However, im very un-sure about Linebrink and Crede. I think the Crede absence is the least of our worries, esspecially with the way Uribe has been handling 3B. However, this team isn't the same w/o Linebrink or Contreras. I mean even if Contreras was giving up 4-5 runs in 6 innings, thats much better than we we've been giving up. And Linebrink being out of his 8th inning role has forced Thorton to go in and be the 7th inning stopper and he just isn't capable of that. He is simply a 1-2 out pitcher. Logan-sucks! Wasserman- eh he can be our mop up guy, Carrasco i guess is a decent long reliever, and thats what we have now. Whats the word on the minors... any successful relievers down there? Is it possible Poreda can prematurly pitch this year in the bigs? With the way Logan is pitching, the Sox may have no choice but to turn to Poreda

    They Live

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) What kind of sick individual creates a thread entitled "They Live" and doesn't talk about the movie? Well, I'm just going to hijack this thread and make sure we do. Did anyone else know the fight in South Park between Timmy and Jimmy was based upon the infamous fight in the film? "You, you're ok. This one, real f***in' ugly. You... you look like your face fell in the cheese dip back in 1957. "
  14. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 03:43 PM) I know its so disappointing he hasnt shown that he can do anything in the majors ... I think the disappointing thing is that he has shown flashes of what he can do, but he just cant put together the consistency. At least thats how I look at it

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) Yuck. Come on, if SIU taught me anything it was how to properly assess cheap beer.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 03:06 PM) Too bad we didn't make that Buehrle for Wily Mo trade like he suggested. LMAO. Thats on an Anthrax level right there
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) yes LOL, well at least he didnt completely hide his favoritism. He just tried to mask it a little bit
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 03:01 PM) There's only one guy who I ever thought was a troll, and he "came out" a long time ago and left this site. Did his name start with red?
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) Wait, what? Dont question it, the season is over once you are a 1/2 game out.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 02:58 PM) Guys....thanks for being here right now for this. I know it's a b**** fest right now, so let's all remember we're Sox fans. Some posts make it extremely hard to tell.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 02:43 PM) yes I usually pick up on post sarcasm, but that needed to be in green if anything ever did. jeebus that wasnt funny, today couldnt get much worse
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) f***...Griffey Jr. tore his hamstring coming out of the dugout What? You are kidding right?
  23. So there was a brawl? Can anyone tell me what happened?
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 02:25 PM) I'm a pessimist, so sue me. However, I see the Sox getting their ass kicked by the Tigers and Red Sox this inning. I assume you mean this week
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 02:22 PM) So in a 6 run game, the Royals have tried to steal 3rd base and now a bunt? Maybe Ozzie will show some balls and drill a KC hitter. Like Mike Aviles in the hand. Aviles would probably get a single out of it anyways
