QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 05:13 PM) Guillen went cleats up on Cabreras shin. Cabrera released the ball before he was touched
-
You know, Cabrera needs to just eat it if he is going to throw it like that That wasnt Guillens slide, that was Cabreras throw

QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 05:25 PM) In high school every blonde (surprisingly not as many blondes on the Poms which were hotter than the actual cheerleaders) I knew had issues galore, whether it be the classic binge and purge, or b****iness (like you wouldn't believe). Most were so emotional that I'd feel safer at the mouth of an active volcano. I'd base my love of the brown haired on this, but even back then I gravitated towards them. Sorry that your high school blondes ruined you for life, but I really dont see hair color as a basis to attach so many different fears. OK, no more off topic girl talk and thread hijacks, if you want to continue it, move it along to SLAM where it belongs

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 11:47 AM) True. Though, I wouldn't exactly say I'm "sold" on this being fact. We are talking here about the Enquirer, and a security guard who may or may not have even recognized Edwards. you know whats really sad though? Recently more often than not tabloid rags like the Enquirer are getting this stuff right. We arent seeing "Greg Walker abducted by Aliens" as much as we are seeing "Jamie Lynn Spears Pregnant" or "John Edwards with a mistress and Baby". people doubt and doubt these stories, and eventually the truth comes out. I think the Enquirer broke the story about governor spitzer too It makes sense though, the creepy paparazzi follow these people around night and day and just connect the dots

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) Crede rakes at Comerica. Crede does not rake lefties

I dont care what any of you say, Erin Andrews = HAWT. If you disagree, then you have different taste in women /argument

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 06:19 AM) Birds and players in the opposing on deck circle. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. That was during college though, so it wasnt really on the Cubs organization
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 07:01 AM) Lawsuit anyone? That isnt even a question, its a certainty. Ahh, the Cubs must be wishing for the good ole days when their prospects threw baseballs at endangered birds as opposed to fans

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 12:16 AM) I want Albert Pujols trimming my bushes and hitting 100 homers for the White Sox while I win the lottery, am given the keys to a new Corvette, and Adriana Lima AND Erin Andrews stand at my doorstep telling me that they had a premonition that they needed to be with me, if just for one night...but none of that is going to happen. You know, before I gave you a chance at Erin Andrews. But now you are just pushing it sir, and I will kindly ask you to stop

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 06:16 AM) I like the precedent this incident has provided us with -- players throwing balls into the stands! I hope it catches on in the majors. Im wondering how that fan is doing. Can you imagine sitting there watching a brawl unfold, and all of the sudden a pitcher comes running up and whips a ball at you full speed from about 10-15 feet closer than a mound?

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 09:58 PM) Brawl in the cubs minor league game tonight...I think Peoria vs Dayton...17 ejections, which were reversed to finish the game. Coaches were arguing, guy comes out of nowhere and fires the ball into the opposing dugout - well i should say tried to - misses, hits a fan who goes to the hospital, chaos ensues. SC had some of the 'highlights' The player was then arrested and taken to jail. That was insane, that guy really came out of nowhere

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 10:26 PM) Very good read. Anyone know what happened with Natalee Hollaway's case? No body, no witnesses, no case. The dutch kid knew what he was doing. And now he is in college studying to become a judge

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) I dunno, they really did spend their best shot in LaPorta going for CC. I thought they had a AA shortstop considered to be untouchable who they held in higher regard than LaPorta?

QUOTE (striker62704 @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 05:21 PM) What do you mean by that? The crazy trade scenarios you just suggested are straight out of an Xbox
-
QUOTE (striker62704 @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 05:17 PM) If we got Duchscherer would we assume that Contreras is out of the rotation? I'd rather we went after Lowe in a deal that would also net us LaRoche. Any takers for Logan + Cabrera for Lowe and LaRoche? then Poreda + Fields for Duchscherer then Vazquez to Mets for prospects then prospects to Orioles for Roberts This is so easy Buerhle Floyd Danks Lowe Duchshcerer wow Hopefully you dont get the red rings of death

He hasnt been the same in a while. The problem that we have is that we have seen him dominate the Sox more than a few times, so he is kind of glorified in that respect
-
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) Well, no s***. But KW never does. Some GMs sometimes do. how many different times do we have to show you that he does? And nobody has even mentioned the moves he makes in the offseason, like say, CARLOS QUENTIN
-
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 12:34 PM) I really can't trust KW to make a huge move at this time of the year. Sure, he made a couple "whatever moves" (Blum, Timo, Willie), a couple average moves (Everett, Alomar), and one good move (Freddy) over the years in general, just not at this time, but none have been huge to bring in a superstar player like a Roberts. When this is done and we actually get a player like Atkins, Roberts, etc., I'll believe it. All highlighted players were important parts of the World Series team, characterizing them as "whatever" moves does them quite a disservice. Also, a deadline deal for another player that helped win the world series was Esteban Loaiza for Jose Contreras in the last hour before the deadline.

I will be absolutely shocked if Hester ends up as the #1 WR after the end of the preseason. 3rd or 4th I would expect
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 10:56 AM) Every day that Hester misses, he diminishes his value to the Bears. There is no one on the team who needs more practice at his position than Hester. Yeah, at the WR position maybe. But he will always be the most valuable kick/punt returner in the NFL, so it doesnt matter. He still has plenty of value in that respect.

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 11:20 AM) Would players such as Mark Ellis, Aaron Hill or Orlando Hudson be a better way to go possibly, or will the Sox just target Furcal in the off-season I wonder? His price will have gone down due to the injury I would imagine. Isnt he represented by Beelzebub Boras? If he is, that price aint comin down
-
Oswalt is available, hasnt Ed Wade told you? they are competing! They got Randy Wolf!
-
While this isnt a "Must win or THIS.TEAM.IS.DEAD." series, I do believe this is a statement series. The Sox have to really pitch effectively
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 08:41 AM) Would you give up half a million dollars to get say $10,000,000, or more? That is the way he is looking at it. He is going to get that regardless, so No I wouldnt give that money up because I would be getting it anyways.
