  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) Brian Anderson is the only guy in the line up without a hit, and we are just now going into the sixth inning. He should be DFAed. He is bad
  2. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) Crosstown series means as much as this game does. There is a shot a winning this game not sure what is going to happen over the weekend. Also who has pitched more than one inning in the last four days? That was a sad little inning there. the overall meaning may hold the same, but you can play your sunday lineup vs the Pirates and win. You cant go into a series vs the Cubs with a bullpen on short rest and hope to scrape by. That team can really hit, you need to have all of your bullets
  3. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 02:17 PM) Get the bullpen up. No use in having 12 pitchers if you are not going to use them. You want to go into the crosstown series with your bullpen on short rest? It isnt as if the Pirates are pitching better. The Sox need to hope Gavin can hold it together for a little while
  4. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 01:48 PM) more sad... Sad at the same time. it definitely illustrates the volatile nature and dual personality of our little corner of the internet
  5. You knwo whats funny is reading all of the posters who gave up on this game 4 pages ago.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 01:29 PM) Oh can it, I root for Gavin and think he's actually a good pitcher. However, I don't care if an error was made or not, you can't give up 6 runs to the Pirates (especially the bottom of the order). Werent all of the runs driven in by the top of the order aside from the run scored on the error?
  7. Mclaren is now out as well
  8. I saw the commercials and decided to avoid it. I didnt like what I saw at all, especially if those were supposed to be some of the funny parts
  9. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 09:51 AM) Where would Ichiro play? Clearly he would be the supersub
  10. news from mlbtraderumors.com I know this may seem farfetched, but does anyone think that KW can fleece Ichiro from the Mariners, would JR be willing to take on that contract?
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 08:38 AM) Yeah I know,Iam just saying its going to be the same old story as far as how the Cubs handle the situation.Ala Wood and Prior. So what you are saying is that we are going to start seeing Zambrano Updates in the Tribune? Hopefully they use the same template as the Prior Updates, it was so visually appealing.
  12. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) Maybe deferred money, otherwise it could just be a Mike Hampton situation where they have to trade him and pay at least half probably 2/3'rds of his remaining contract. Who would want him the way he is pitching ATM though? I have seen a few different trade rumor sites indicating that SF is trying to work out a deferred contract deal with Zito so they can trade him ASAP
  13. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 02:42 PM) day dreaming at work I can tell, lol
  14. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 02:34 PM) INSTANT FIX FOR OFFENSE - > get rollins and or victorino from phillies.. they needs starting pitching so package arround Fields, Cabrera, and SP LMAO, Im sure the Phillies will be all about that
  15. The first Bavasi domino to fall? Richie Sexson to be released within the week
  16. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 01:58 PM) I think Armageddon taught us everything we would need to know about this... I dont understand what Ben Affleck's lack of acting ability has anything to do with the subject
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 11:43 AM) Furcal is also seemingly out until the All-Star Break. Oh yes, me and my fantasy team are well aware of this fact.
  18. Furcal has had a lot of injury problems the last few years, that is a cause for concern
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 09:19 AM) More than I think Johnson would call it on his own and not be benched for the next two months. it just seems like a dumb call.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 08:56 AM) No way he made either of those plays on his own. Those are both called in the dugout, I would almost guarentee you. You really think the bench would call for a bunt base hit in a 3-2 ballgame with 2 outs?
  21. Bavasi has some comments about Erik Bedard while walking out the door:

    Films Thread

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) Yeah, that's a fair assessment. It was an uneven film, and the hell CGI was bad, even by 1997 standards. I think my soft spot for it comes from being a big fan of the source material and vintage McFarlane in general combined with the fact that the comic book film adaptations coming out then were mostly really bad. By comparison, even a mediocre film like Spawn seemed pretty good. This was definitely true. Comic Book movies are a whole different breed now, there would be a lot of things expected from a Spawn movie should it be made today.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 06:24 PM) No love whatsoever for the Spawn movie?? I thought they did a decent job with it, and I liked Leguezamo (sp?) as Violator. Not a fan. I agree, Leguizamo is great as Violator, but the guy who played Spawn was really bad. Plus, the body makeup was way too stiff. Spawn is a tall imposing figure in the comics, especially with his mask and chains, a tall actor should play the part. I think the parts taking place in Hell were just bad CGI, all of the creatures are the same guy just cloned and put all over the screen. I heard rumors of a remake. Hopefully it gets a decent budget and they can do something with it.
