QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) I enjoyed The Jacket, also. It was one of those movies I had never heard of and watched it because nothing was on one night. Its pretty messed up. Talk about getting no publicity. That must have been out before 2007 though. I think I saw it on TV in 06. You are right, it came out in 2005. I dont know where I got 07 from

KW to be on the Score at 10:30
QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 09:52 AM) Did he say anything of substance? He said the most difficult part of being a GM nowadays is that there arent many sellers anymore, and to get a good player you have to give up a good player. Crede and Linebrink are on the DL not because they needed to be, but because the Sox want them both healthy for the stretch run. given his choice of players who have exceeded expectations(he was given Quentin, Danks, Floyd and Ramirez) he said it has to be Ramirez because of where he came from and how quickly he adjusted to the game.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2008 -> 09:19 AM) Is he filling in as host? Jesse rogers kicked George Offman off the show and invited KW to be the permanent fill in. KW quit his job immediately

Fields and Floyd for a SP?
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 10:49 PM) Somebody said they'd gladly deal Alexei. I say, 'Why?' The guy is exciting. Why can't we have some exciting players around for say, five to 10 years? Why trade a find like Lexi?? Who said that, and when did they say it?

Fields and Floyd for a SP?
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 04:55 PM) Bingo. I honestly couldn't say it any better. It'd show we'd be going for it THIS year. I'd even include Vazquez and Richard in the deal as long as they sent us an A or AA ball non-highly-touted 3B. Ok let me get this straight, you think trading Fields, Vazquez, Richard AND Floyd for Halladay shows that we are going for it this year? Trading 2/5ths of the rotation and two promising prospects for 1 pitcher and some A or AA non highly touted 3B is a good idea to you? Completely ridiculous

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
I have watched very little of umpire Rob Drake, but everything I have seen from him I dont like. the guy loves to cause controversy on the field. He has thrown out chicago managers and coaches 4 times this year. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 01:56 PM) Rob Drake is horrible. As I was writing the same thing

Fields and Floyd for a SP?
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 08:50 AM) We'd all have traded for another '05 Contreras during '05. Meanwhile, Duchscherer's career points to being a lot better overall pitcher than, say jose, even in all those non sensational years before. i disagree. Duch has had the injury bug far more than Contreras ever had, and that really worries me about him. He has had a great first half, but not as great as Contreras did in 06 IMO

Fields and Floyd for a SP?
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 08:13 AM) Halladay wants out of Toronto. I could easily see him being moved. If all it takes is Floyd and Fields to get 2.5 years of Halladay, I'll drive them both to the airport. And I will be riding shotgun. I just dont think thats all its gonna take

Marte, Nady to the Yankees
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) How many teams though have made a killing based on guys that the Yankees sold off? Good question, I cant think of many.

Fields and Floyd for a SP?
I think Floyd is as close to untouchable as the Sox have right now, and it is going to have to be a premier ace coming back to the Sox for him to be sent packing. I just dont see Halladay being moved, and aside from him I dont see many other aces being available and SF101 is right, Duchscherer isnt worth moving Floyd, despite his league leading ERA at this point.
