  1. I have gotten stitches twice in my life, both times in my face, both times due to a kid I used to hang out with when i was 10-15 years old being an idiot and reckless.
  2. QUOTE(T R U @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) I cant believe how any of you like TNA, I have tried to watch it and its just lame. I guess I have a hard time getting into the recycled WWE guys.. and then the original guys they have just dont impress me at all (I do like AJ Styles though, wish WWE could get him.) The thing that bugs me the most is the six sided ring. At least in the WWE the guys can give the appearance that they are bouncing off the ropes and into moves, but the six sided ring forces those guys to visibly manufacture momentum, and it just all comes off looking bad and completely scripted. I dont mind the recycled WWe guys, because some of them needed a fresh start and a shot to be the man(Christian Cage expecially). But it just looks like it is headed straight to WCW he** to me. Kevin Nash really doesnt offer anything, Sting is playing the same role he always has(although I like the return of the surf-punk makeup, the Crow makeup and "depression" was ridiculously outdated). And everytime I watch it, it just looks so....confined. The promos look like everyone is on top of each other, the stage is like 10 feet from the entrance. Maybe if they took their show to a slightly bigger venue and started a regular tour, it would develop into something a little better, who knows. They do have some really good wrestlers in their stable though, I cannot deny them that
  3. QUOTE(juddling @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 09:32 AM) Shelton is yet again proof that WWE writers don't know what to do with good wrestlers. I thought they were going somewhere when he beat HHH 3 or four times in a row....maybe something happened offstage or something. Next thing you know he's a mama's boy whining he's not winning. i haven't watched WWE much the last few months but i know Shelton is back with Haas. Not sure if they are doing any good or not though. He sucks with the mic, its pretty much his whole problem. He cannot create a gimmick to draw the fans, and the fans always want someone who can talk to them. I have yet to see a promo from him that he didnt fumble and sound lost.

    The Office

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) And the bit with Creed, when the bat first flew around and he just sat at his desk, that was great! I thought the entire scene was hilarious. Dwight took off when he realized it was a bat, Angela was on the ground hiding, Kevin was trying to run, that was a great chaotic scene. And when the bat flew out and Kelly started yelling "Kill it! Kill it!", that was classic
  5. Umaga squashing Dusty Rhodes and Roddy Piper last night was lame, Umaga needs to fued with someone like Taker IMO, and stop running in and squashing inferior/past their prime wrestlers. I do like the "Loser shaves his head" match between Vince and Trump though, although I see no way in H*** that Trump ends up shaving his head. The 8 man tag match was a missed spot fest at the end. Just ugly.

    The Office

Dwight: We need to form an alliance.. Creed: sure Dwight: and use violence... Creed: Ok Dwight: Do you have the tools to turn a mop-handle into a stake? Creed: (opens desk drawer) what size?
  8. I was searching for the thread about the Greys Anatomy star who has been villified for speaking his mind about a co-worker to see if there were any parallels in the conversation, but I cannot seem to find it. I think it is worth bringing into the discussion though. Although Isiah Washington has decided to seek help for his bigotry, which should be noted.
  9. QUOTE(Tmar @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) I gotta go with Lovitz as the best character Was your favorite episode of "Happy Days" when Fonzi jumped the shark? Its a shame that Mencia has to rip off other material, but he should be better prepared when someone outs him like that if he steals so much material. He reverted to little kid excuses "I dont even know him", "I was doing that joke way before he was", and kept calling Rogan a b****. The end scene when Rogan was talking with all of the other comedians and Mencia and all of them were saying that they have seen him rip off material was pretty classic. And Rogan busts him out on being half German and Mencia pulls out a Green Card? What the heck was that, a prop for his show? Who has their green card ready to show like that? And George Lopez said he doesnt want other hispanic comedians to be successful? Whatever. I tried to ignore this upwelling of hate for Mencia, frankly because I never watched his show and didnt really care about him, but this is pretty eye opening. Rogan gets props for calling him out.
  10. Junkyard Dawg is still in the league? Who knew? translated: Man, the NBA doesnt want to pay me for appearances anymore so I better get this over with Hardaway should have known better, it isnt rocket science anymore that what you say to a camera is going to be dissected, criticized and repeated within minutes of it being said.
  11. Why does lunardi have SIU at ? They have won 8 in a row, they should be ascending. Thats all.
  12. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 09:09 AM) The SIU machine is moving...all aboard. TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOTTT LOL, I honestly never saw you jumping on that train
  13. Was RAW rescheduled this week? I forgot to ask Monday, but it wasnt on TV.
  14. SIU is officially on fire. 8 in a row, swept the season series against Wichita State, Creighton, and now Missouri State. This season is starting to feel pretty damn good for all Salukis.
  15. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 03:32 PM) No its makes perfect sense for this jayhawk team. They never get outplayed, just coach Giggles does not change anything during the game and gets outcoacehd. Like I said, Every team says the same thing. Its cliche' The man thing to do is to admit when another team is better than you were on that night, and give them their props instead of saying things like "We beat ourselves." QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) But Kansas is one of a handful of teams in the country that has the talent to back up such claim. UNC, Florida, UCLA, OSU are the 4 other teams that do. Wisconsin goes down to any of those teams when they play at there absolute best (even if Wiscy does). However, Wiscy does a nice job trying to prevent other teams from having that sort of game and they can grind teams out of there element (and they find a way to win and have some very good wins) which is why they are no doubt a title contender. The game isnt played on paper. Good/great teams get beat when they "arent supposed to" every year. Sometimes a scheme will catch another team off guard, it just ahpppens
  16. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) We seemed to stop Florida with their gigantic big men pretty well. Like I said before, no one beats kansas but themseleves. every team uses the same rhetoric. cliche'
  17. Is he saying if he doesnt sign, he needs to get dealt? Or is he saying that he is walking after this year, Cubs had their chance and blew it? Either way, this is hilarious. If Hendry does manage to sign Zambrano to the deal he is looking for, he is going to end up committing over 400 million dollars in one offseason. And if the Cubs dont win the World Series(which I am fairly sure they won't), this will be a colossal failure on Hendry's part.
  18. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 07:15 PM) SIU beats Creighton at SIU arena! Huge Win! All alone in first place! I H8 Cr8on! Two words: Matt Shaw
  19. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 12:18 PM) Interesting how so many people here have their own stories. Here's a recent news story worthy of this thread -- UFO sighted at O'Hare airport. http://www.chicagotribune.com/classified/a...,5874175.column I have a feeling that this thread just might hang around a little while. Another interesting site.
  20. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 06:31 PM) I feel similar sentiments when confronted with the technological advancements required for space travel. For any alien species to successfully venture across the solar system , they'll need to possess a blueprint of how our universe functions. More than merely identifying dark matter and its supposed awesomeness. What is contradictory in my mind is how unknown creatures can solve the perils of space travel, yet can't hide their spacecrafts from view? Why don't they present themselves in public for everyone to see? However, even with this, I fully believe intelligent lifeforms exist outside our planet. I'm a little less willing, although certaintly open minded, to the idea of UFO's flying around Earth. It was an History Channel special I viewed recently which lowered my skepticism a little bit. Yeah, I know; don't laugh. It wasn't a feature on UFO's, but USO's -- Unidentified Submerged Objects. There were numerous accounts of sightings aboard the U.S.S. Franklin Roosevelt by a sizable amount of respected naval officers. Other individuals reported sighting which couldn't be explained as scientific instruments. Eye witness accounts often describe detail colorful, orbital objects diving into and out of the water. I don't know what it is, honestly. Because when you think about it -- the sheer depths of our planet's oceans would be a convenient place for shapeships. /X Files theme I saw that too, I believe that was where I saw the story about Christopher Columbus seeing a UFO/USO. It must have been a weeklong UFO theme, because they had those shows on for a whole week. the Peter jennings special was great
  21. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 05:04 PM) ^^^ What he said. The common idea is to think of them as super intelligent, super advanced and what not. I wonder why. Why can't they be dumber than us? Honestly though, wouldnt they have to be super intelligent and advanced to travel the large distances to get to us?
  22. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 05:04 PM) ^^^ What he said. I do believe there is other life out there, however. The universe is far too big, and far too unknown for me not to believe this. Do I think they've visited this planet? Not really, no. The common idea is to think of them as super intelligent, super advanced and what not. I wonder why. Why can't they be dumber than us? Why doesn't anyone write a sci-fi book about us humans going to another planet where the beings are utterly and totally stupid? You must not read alot of Sci-Fi and watch any Star Trek.
  23. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) Sort of a good example, given people's quick reaction to take a side and be outraged. Although there, that was a public servant hyping an unfounded criminal case for politcal gain, which is much worse. My point was more that the Public was seeing through the BS and it became less than newsworthy until Nifong was disgraced recently. We were completely inundated with the story until the cracks started showing through. The hype on this will probably last a little longer because it is a nationally recognized celebrity, but it will probably die down just the same. I dont think elton john is going to be rescripting "Candle in the Wind" anytime soon, either
  24. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) I just don't agree. I see this similarly to personal responsibility. No one EVER makes you buy ANYTHING. If you buy it, fine. Just don't complain that its out there, and that stores are going ga-ga over it. I buy Sox tickets, but you don't see me moaning about how popular the team is. That would be hypocritical. They create hype, because thats marketing. The question is, do we buy into it? If not, guaranteed, that hype will die out mighty quick. *Cough*DukeLacrosse*Cough*
