  1. Were you wearing a black white sox jersey? If so, then I saw you with your "He gone" sign a few times.
  2. QUOTE(ZeroHour @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) if that were true he would have written about Chavez and Eddie. Just wait, in the weeks leading up to the deadline his ideas are going to start looking familiar.
  3. I just read the article. I love how he tries to vindicate himself of lying last week by saying "I wont lie to you guys about the cubs and sox, im here to tell you guys the truth". (not verbatim) What a moron, seriously. I wonder if he even buys the crap that he is writing. You can tell he scans messageboards for ideas and stories.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) Of course if Kotex boy had actually paid attention to the man who controlls the purse strings he would have heard JR say that there is more money to be added to payroll. Then again that would have involved things such as research, and fact, which don't belong there at all... Why would Mariotti let facts get in the way of a good column? If he let that sort of thing happen, then his agenda would be difficult to carry on.
  5. QUOTE(ZeroHour @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) to prove a point, you have to be high if you think Preston Wilson is a solution for Corey Patterson. Mariotti would never make a bad trade suggestion. Replace a strikeout prone power hitting center fielder with a strikeout prone power hitting centerfielder? Sounds like a great plan!
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 07:17 AM) He mentioned he was on vacation. If he was on vacation why was he on Around the Horn? I think his vacation wasn't voluntary. its funny that his vacation started the day after Reinsdorf slammed him on Comcast, and the day that his retraction printed.
  7. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) Cause Ozzie's the f***ing manager. it has happened before. The world will not end.
  8. that pesky McCracken, he always hits the Sox well.
  9. very close, I live on the other side of the highway
  10. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) In Rolling Ghettos...er...Meadows as well. hey I resemble that remark Im right off algonquin rd, if anyone wants to stop by and watch the game

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) Court TV says Jackson portrayed no significant emotion. Just stood there, as if to wonder how the hell he's a free man. I suppose now we'll find out there was a OJSimpson glove moment where the prosecutors screwed themselves and moronic jurors used it as reasonable doubt. Im telling you, the glove moment was when the mother testified. Try and find some of the CNN archived stories about her testimony, I knew as soon as I read them that he was going free.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) Pigeons symbolizing? Wow, woman on Fox NEWS is going nuts saying it is blatant Jackson was guilty and she can't believe thsi happend. And they need to give the jurors IQ tests. Is that the witness' Mom?
  13. Kyyle23 replied to Steff's topic in SLaM
I feel this is on the prosecution. They chose poor witnesses with no credibility whatsoever. That kids mom broke the case all by herself, you cannot have a money-grubber as your key witness. If you are going up against the big boys, you better make sure all your bases are covered.
  14. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) Chris Singleton you mean marlon wayans.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) Ken Hill. Ooooooh Milkman, good one. Along those lines Dave Stieb and Doug Drabek
  16. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) My personal favorite (and still dont understand how he didnt make it in the bigs): Lyle Mouton Hows about Ben Davis?
  17. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) Jorge Fabregas, cuz he looked like Peter North. LMFAO!

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) I fully believe that its the more consistant throwing of a decent slider that has helped him this year. He is going after the batters and throwing all of his pitches for strikes, textbook He also has incorporated a wicked changeup. From what I remember last year, right before he went on the DL with his appendectomy he was on a roll similar to this. He certainly brings the intensity, thats for sure
  19. Chris Snopek 1A Greg Norton 2A Tim Belcher
  20. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) you think he would help the fantasy stats, if so hes on my team If your fantasy league includes minor league stats, then sure.
  21. QUOTE(valponick @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) I didn't say you didn't understand baseball. This is alot of what we say last week with the Erstad collission though, you have one side seeing it as a hard-nosed play and the other side seeing it as a cheapshot. I don't really feel like getting into an argument about that though. The thing is that I see it as hard-nosed, I dont see it as cheating. But I think coming down the line, Hunter said to himself "Im gonna make this one count, and the Sox are going to know who is in charge after I am done." And he did it. And the Sox knew who was in charge. he got into the Sox heads, that is how I see it.
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:39 AM) If all it takes is to run over our backup's backup catcher to make us quit than that is a team that deserves to lose, Also I think what you meant was the past 3 years. And you really think Ozzie would of let our team quit because of a play he applauded Hunter on. Here is the real reason we lost last year... No 5th starter and not having Maggz and Thomas for over half the season. What are you people reading? I didnt say "the reason the Sox lost is because Burke got hit..." I said that Hunter popped Burke and the Sox quit afterwards. You cant argue that. I know why the Sox lost last year, they had their deficiencies, injuries and a one dimensional offense. The season turned on one play. After that play, the team went on a s***ty run and ended up in second.
  23. QUOTE(valponick @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) The reason you saw it differently is because you probably don't understand that baseball can be a contact sport and it should be played hard. Listen, dont take a quote of mine and tell me that i dont understand baseball. Everyone has a different perspective on how things go. You dont agree with mine, thats fine, but you dont hear me telling you that you dont understand the sport. I understand baseball just fine, and I see it differently than you do. thats all.
  24. QUOTE(valponick @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) Second of all he doesn't have to respect us, his team has beaten up on us consistently for the last 3 years, 2nd place doesn't command respect. BTW, I was talking about Hunter saying for the past 4 years "Nobody respects us", I wasnt saying that Hunter has to respect the Sox. They(the Twins) like to play the "us against the world" mentality.
  25. QUOTE(valponick @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) First of all his bowling over Burke wasn't a mind game, if anything the Sox did a mind-job on themselves, that was just a tough play, it happens. Second of all he doesn't have to respect us, his team has beaten up on us consistently for the last 3 years, 2nd place doesn't command respect. First of all I disagree with you. Second of all i dont care if you disagree with me. I saw it differently. Sorry.
