QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 02:14 PM) Sandman/Carlito in a Singapore Cane Match added to the GAB. To me, Sandman looks like a thug you would see in a movie like "Snatch" or "Lock, stock and Two Smoking Barrels" One of those mean looking cusses, Jason Statham/Vinnie Jones type

NBA Ref Fixes Games for the Mob
Joey has been pulling that stuff for years, he is known for being a hothead. Its strange to me that this would come to light, after one of the more senior refs in the league is absent from the playoff crew. Im probably connecting dots that arent there, but its a thought

NBA Ref Fixes Games for the Mob
Wasnt Joey Crawford mysteriously taken off the playoffs ref crew this year?

NBA Ref Fixes Games for the Mob
In particular I always thought the Sacto-Lakers game was fixed that went into overtime where Mike Bibby was basically punched in the face by Kobe to get the ball back, and no foul was called. It was pretty hard to watch the rest of the game(which was over shortly thereafter).

Michael Vick Accepts Plea Deal Per ESPN
QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 01:56 AM) I hope he does go to jail.. I despise pitbulls, however I think its horrible to do what it says they did to animals.. I love my dog so much, if someone had a gun to my dogs head and a gun to any of your heads and told me I had to choose one to live I would pick my dog everytime.. Thats like the thing that really bothers me, cruelty to animals. I don't see how anyone could do any of that stuff.. strangling and electrocuting them, thats just disgusting. to a guy wanting to make money by watching his dog murder another dog slowly(or the other way around), strangling and electrocuting is probably no big deal. It blows my mind that people can think that way about any animal, wanting to watch it attack another animal and kill it.

Timo's Back
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 04:51 PM) MINNEAPOLIS -- Detroit Tigers left fielder Marcus Thames was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, a day after he pulled his left hamstring on a diving catch in a 3-2 win over Minnesota. Outfielder Timo Perez's contract was purchased from Triple-A Toledo, and he was in the lineup batting seventh and playing left field in place of Thames against the Twins on Thursday afternoon. The 32-year-old Perez was MVP of the Triple-A All-Star game last week. He signed a minor-league deal with Detroit this winter after appearing in 23 games last year for St. Louis. He played in parts of four seasons for the New York Mets and spent the next two years with the Chicago White Sox. Thames, who is hitting .252 with 11 home runs and 32 RBIs in 155 at-bats, ended the eighth inning Wednesday night with a running shoestring catch of Joe Mauer's line drive. He rolled around in the turf in pain and limped off the field. WTF???

Flight of the Concords
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 02:50 AM) "The world is very different ever since the robotic uprising of the mid 90's." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbqnY0XAzdQ...ted&search= Due to this thread's presence on Soxtalk I decided to watch the first episode on OnDemand and was pleasantly surprised. Especially with the "Humans Are Dead" video. I'll have to catch up with the remaining episodes. I love the videos that they are making for thier songs, but IMO the live versions of all of their songs are 10X funnier. Check out "Hiphopopotomous vs Rhymenocerous", "Jenny", "Business Time", and "The Humans are dead" in the live versions of the songs. www.hbo.com/conchords has a few of the episodes available, and all of their music videos.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!
QUOTE(shoota @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 01:04 AM) IMO, Frank lost the chance to become a Sox great when he refused to participate in the spring training shuttle run. LOL, what the heck would that have to do with him being a Sox great?

White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/19/07 (W)
If Bukvich could learn a split-finger fastball, I bet his stuff would look pretty nasty. But Hawk is right, he is a two pitch pitcher with his slider and fastball. he is lucky that Manny didnt slice that ball a little bit more, or else it would be 5-3 Bosox right now

The fan yelling AJs name during his swing is a douche. If some guy was sitting next to me at a White Sox game doing that to opposing players I wouldnt appreciate it

Fred Hubner said this morning that Iguchi is 31 for 85 (.364) lifetime against Dice-K. Hopefully that trend continues in the MLB

Michael Vick Accepts Plea Deal Per ESPN
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) There's even a comment in the docs about a fellow "kennel" owner getting yelled at for calling out Vick's name during a fight. I just really hope that going after Vick doesn't consume this and that the rest of the assholes get theirs as well. Seems to be a lot of folks involved over 8 states. I never would have guessed this was so big. From what I read about that, the man who was "admonished"(read: got his ass beat) is the anonymous participating witness. I bet its the same guy who was blurred out in the ESPN Outside the Lines story a few months ago

Albert Belle interested in owning White Sox
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) I believe that statement was said as a joke. He said he wished he would have stayed here longer, and then said he's been "trying to get jerry to sell him the white sox." I don't really think it was true. However, all Albert did for the Sox was produce, can't say I didn't like him! 30/116 49/152 f***ing monster... too bad we had zero pitching for that club. He had a 9-year tear in there that was as good as anyone... damn knees. I'll never forget the ad campaign the White Sox ran with him breaknig a bat and it said something like 100% amber or whatever type of wood they stated. They have stupendous marketing. IIRC it was a degenerative hip. Which is what Konerko supposedly has as well

Video Game Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) I agree, it won't die out because it has mass appeal. The problem is that many gamers can become instinctively prejudiced against a system that prides itself on its non and party games. It seems like Nintendo, the company that beat Sega and won our hearts, is giving up. Like they are selling out to the lowest common denominator: party games and can't-miss sequels to proven franchises. I want to like Nintendo as much as I used to, but it's hard when it seems like they are focusing harder on broadening their base than pleasing the core gamers that made them the company they are today. I think Nintendo is looking at it like there is a whole new wave of gamers every year now, and its time to stop selling ONLY to the hardcore gamers and time to start drawing in different demographics. And I think the hardcore Nintendo gamers are looking for the games like Zelda:twilight Princess, Metroid 3 Corruption, and Super Mario Galaxy and those types of games, so nintendo looks like they are on the way to pleasing both newcomers and hardcore gamers.
