Buehrle Fest
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) Nice Red X. Do you work for the organization? Your posts are suddenly make me wonder. No it doesn't, but if you refuse to talk to the biggest agent in the game and give no trade clauses, you can't win. It was a picture of chicken little until a second ago. Woe is me, woe is you, the sky is falling! The "corporate guy" jab was humorous, Joe Public

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 08:44 PM) Can you read or see, Hellen Keller? I've admitted I wanted us to trade Mark UNTIL I saw 4/56 and a NTC is all he wanted. To not give somebody that good 4/56 a NTC, AND THEN when he gives in still say no means you don't want him. And we will NEVER win if we refuse to give any players a NTC or talk to Boras clients. It's not that hard to understand. Right. New owner. New GM. That all equals a world series /waits for sky to fall some more

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) The Sox obviously don't want Mark Buehrle back, AND they won't give NTC's or talk to Boras. Enjoy 2005 everybody, it won't happen again until we have a new GM and Owner. did you break your jaw with that kneejerk, Mariotti?

White Sox vs. Twins, 7/07/07 (W)
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) And how many times do people say...don't worry, he'll regain it as the season goes on. I just want to know how you lose 5 to 6 mph in a year and a half? Isnt it common for pitchers with Tommy John surgery to have a "jacked-up" am when they return from the surgery, only to have the velocity slowly drop to where they were before the surgery? Im not saying this is definitely what happened with Bobby, but it is a possibility considering he had screws put into his arms. Just a thought

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 11:42 AM) I don't recall the original show making masturbation jokes, or having Spike act like Richard Prior scared out of his mind. Why would you shoot metal bullets at a robot if it's the first time you ever saw it? I just wished people wouldn't have reacted like nothing was going on when a police car turns into a giant robot. Compare how the characters reacted in Jurassic park even though they knew they were going to be seeing dinosaurs. Sorry, this movie sucked hardcore. The 1986 cartoon was way better. Sorry, I refuse to look for realism in a movie about Giant Chameleon robots from outer space based on a 1980's cartoon. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 11:42 AM) or having Spike act like Richard Prior scared out of his mind. ?

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 12:55 AM) Holy crap, Transformers was bad. The first 1:15:00 was nothing but campy jokes that were on a level lower than "Not another Teen Movie." Am I the only one who thinks it completely f***ing crazy to see people's natural reaction to a living cyborg be shooting the bejesus out of it with bullets? By the end of the movie it started to look like a GM commercial as I was just waiting for the "Magic Carpet Ride" music to kick in. The Camaro looks better than a C6 Corvette, but not a C5. B) Yeah, I was totally looking for more realism there Campy jokes huh? Have you ever seen the original show? I(and my 8-12 year old alter ego) thought it was awesome.

Come on Ozzie....
QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 09:47 PM) I think you contradicted yourself with this very post, my friend. Ozzie probably figured that Danks will have a little extra rest so let's let him throw over 100 pitches tonight -- an added benefit will be a little extra rest for the pen. which is sorely needed with a doubleheader tomorrow
-
Come on Ozzie....
Why couldnt Ozzie tell Parrish to throw Gooch a strike? What awful managing
-
Come on Ozzie....
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) I was utterly bewildered he left Danks in. If this were Mark or Jon or Javy even ok, but Danks is a rookie and had been struggling for a while until his last outing. We were up 8, he had thrown 6 strong and 100 pitches and there we no need at all to leave him out there for the 7th. Our pen can hold an 8 run lead. I don't see how this point is unreasonable. The point is unreasonable because you want Danks to progressively go deeper into games and learn how to manage the game. Pulling him before the 7th started when he is winning by 8, after only giving up 2 would look crazy and premature.

Come on Ozzie....
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) That is just horrible. You've got a kid who was struggling, had given you his 2nd strong outing in a row at 6 innings and 2 runs, you had made all the other "this game is over" subs with Mack at 1st and putting Owens in....so you leave Danks in for the 7th with 100 pitches in what was a perfect chance to give the kid who has never thrown more than 150 innings a shot to get a little rest since we were up 8. What happens? His good outing turns into a piss poor one and who knows what it did to his confidence. Those who say Ozzie hates young players might be wrong, but those who say he can't handle them are 100 percent right. Horrible. WS101, you are the worst second guesser in the history of Soxtalk. You crack me up, but you need to step back and see how inverted your logic is in these instances sometimes. Everyone has been complaining about Ozzie not letting Danks go longer in outings and pulling him too early, Ozzie gave the kid a chance to cruise through the 7th. Danks had retired what, 9 or 10 in a row before all of that started?

Red Sox/White Sox Trade Proposal
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 02:21 PM) I've never tried to get rises out of anyone, so given my track record that obviously what I was trying to do here. I saw a rumor in an article stating how the White Sox are thinking of trading Buehrle straight up for Matt Kemp and thought to myself, well hey, Wily Mo Pena is a better player, maybe that would work instead. So you disagree with my statement that Pena is better than anyone in the White Sox outfield at this point in time? If you don't mind me asking, whose better? I suppose you could make the argument for Jermaine Dye, but given his age and the fact that in two months he'll be gone, Wily Mo Pena is better than anybody the White Sox can throw out there. riiiiiiiiiiiiiight, never QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 11:28 AM) Long time no see, you s*** stains (You know who I'm referring to). QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 11:56 AM) Well if it's a moot point and he'll resign, I understand what you're saying. If not, you're completely insane. My anus could really use a tongue cleaning, what's your rate?

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 4, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) Good grief, you do know this was Farmer who was saying it's interesting that he gave him the watch now? I guess I'll stop posting what people are actually saying, and I'll sit back and read the daily pissing contests that are going on now about who's a better fan, etc. Did Farmer then say that it seems like he may be leaving soon?

I saw Pans Labrynth for the first time last night, and I thought it was amazing. I was a little taken aback by the scene where the Captain kills the father and son who were rabbit hunting though, it was disturbing.

Braves meet with Rainbow/PUSH officials
The NAACP has decided that baseball doesnt do enough for African Americans, and points out that "...funding for baseball programs has found its way to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and other countries." I hate how he uses the hispanic countries to further his goals, as if they get everything that the African Americans dont.

Flight of the Concords
QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 10:15 AM) Murray - "What if he died?" Arj Barkers character - "What if he did what?" Murray - "No, I'm saying what if he died?" Arj Barkers character - "I know, what is it that he did?" Hilarious. Their One Night Stand (on HBO Demand for those that have it) is the best. The version of the songs are a lot better on stage I think. "Business Time" has to be my favorite. Arj Barker is "Dave" I agree, I think their live songs are better than their videos. However, I like the produced versions of the songs too.

Episode 3 was f***ing hilarious. HipHopopotomous vs Rhymenocerous was well done, as was the Issue song. i loved how they became friends with the muggers, that was great.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) Zambrano says he would like to play for the Sox if the Cubs dont re-sign him because he's a Sox fan and grew up watching Ozzie Guillen. It was in the Cubune during the last Cubs-Sox series. really? when did he say that?

KW Speaks about Buehrle's NTC
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 01:12 PM) Let's not act like the 2005 team was due to solely KW's genius. Wasn't it his Plan C or D after several other moves he wanted to make fell through? Any way you say it, Plan A, B, C, or D are all KWs plans. 2005 wasnt solely because of his genius, this much is true, the other part was players execution and coaches preparedness.
