I dont know about you guys, but I am excited every time I see Sweeney in the lineup. I really think he is going to be something special, and it is gonna be a damn shame when(if?) Pods comes back to see his bat leave the lineup.

QUOTE(Brian @ May 8, 2007 -> 10:41 AM) In the past month or so, it has been getting better, but now that their WHC is gonna be out for awhile and their biggest up and comer, things are being halted. The summer months are when I was always excited to be a wrestling fan as a kid. I hope they can keep the turn around going. And by going, I mean job Khali and release him. What, you arent intimidated when he raises his arms and goes "Raaaawr!"?

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ May 8, 2007 -> 12:27 AM) Is it me or is Carlos Boozer turning into a superstar? He didn't shoot the ball well tonight. But he dominated the glass and came up a clutch offensive rebound that led to the game-winning score. Boozer was turning into a superstar in his last year in Cleveland. He has been injured a good portion of the time with Utah, now he is finally healthy again and showing what he can do. -
So the fans were whining about this in the offseason?

Is Freddy healthy? I saw the highlights of his golfcart mishap. The knot on his shin was UGLY. -
My money says Orton dominates Cena, Khali interferes and match is called on DQ edit: What a p*ss poor half a*sed ending

Kennedys injury is serious, his MITB shot is over.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 7, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) Looked like his "old" (April/May 2006) swing to me....what's the difference? When I see BA going good with his swing (which really hasnt been very often), he drastically reduces the hitch in his swing. He holds his hands really low(at or below the numbers) when he is going bad, and when the ball leaves the pitchers hand he brings them up in a cocking action and unloads on the ball. Because of this unnecassary action in his swing, he is very susceptable to breaking balls of any kind, and moreso down and away breaking balls. Crede used to have this problem early in his ML career, and now he holds his hands up high, which gives him more time to wait on breaking balls if he is expecting a fastball. Right now BA has to be predicting the pitch almost 100 percent correct to have any success hitting it. Im no batting coach, but this is what I see as the problem in BA's swing. Feel free to tear it up or agree with it.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/05/07/spiderboy.ap/index.html Where is the vomit smiley when you need it? Just disgusting. Strange though, I cant imagine what would make not one, but two spiders want to live in your ear canal. Spiders usually like to set up camp near areas with lots of bug traffic(ie. near lights, in trees, underhangs, etc.) and it isnt as if there are tons of bugs passing by in your ear.

It is tough to keep "interesting" situations out of the media nowadays. I would be somewhat surprised if something happened that p*ssed Ozzie off that badly, and it didnt hit the papers or airwaves in some form or another. Somebody always sees something. I think BA's arrogance/confidence would grate on anyone if the performance isnt there to back it up. We all know that BA needs constant ABs right now, and he is in the best place for that. Sweeney very well may take an open OF spot if he continues to show the moxie and signs of improvement, and I actually think that Ozzie would be open to letting Sweeney take the job from Pods because he likes Sweeney so much, provided Erstad continues to be a decent leadoff hitter. If Erstad starts to tail off, Pods will be back in the lineup as soon as he gets back, even if Sweeney is smoking the ball.

I thought that the entire episode revolving around Yom Kippur was hilarious. Ari and Rubenstein were great as the "kids outside smoking" with their cell phones trying to get the deal done.

QUOTE(shipps @ May 6, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) Iam glad hes coming back.It really gets me emotional to see him pitch for a team one last time.In the same rotation as his good friend Andy. And oh the sacrifice his family has made by letting daddy pitch on the road again. And for him to go a team that is in last place,he obviously must really love the game to come back. fixed that for you

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 6, 2007 -> 06:22 PM) The last time the Sox played against a Yankee Clemens was fun. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NY...200308260.shtml daaayum, The Big Hurt had a grand slam, Maggs and Konerko both had 2 homeruns. Must have been a fun game.

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ May 6, 2007 -> 01:29 PM) Oh and it turns out that Orton trashed the hotel room, AFTER he found out he was being sent home...this guy's a real pro. You beat me to it, here is the full story: Hmm, "unfit to perform". Orton likes to drink, or Orton likes the drugs, or both.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 5, 2007 -> 11:50 PM) Because Liriano and Felix are injured by what makes them amazing. The greatest pitchers, IMO, the greatest sustainable pitchers will always be guys with filthy changeups and damn good fastballs with a few other plus pitches as well. Think Pedro, or Maddux. I would think Maddux more than Pedro in the sustainable department. Pedro has had some injury issues for the past couple of years

QUOTE(fathom @ May 5, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) Erstad! Way to pick up Sweeney. You can't double switch with the DH. Once DH goes into the field, the DH is deactivated. I guess I missed that Uribe is out, meanign he is hurt. I thought he just had a day off -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 5, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) With Uribe out, this is why you don't DH Ozuna. We have no back-up SS now. You can double switch though. it isnt imperative to have an SS available on the bench, although DHing Mackowiak does make more sense -

Crede must be feeling the power of the Borasdarkside, and it is destroying all of the good swings he has. -
Why does Thailand get to pay a lesser amount though?

Sure, I would love to see what a normal person would be sentenced if they pulled the same crap while driving. I think her sentence is light because of who she is, not inappropriate and ludicrous because of who she is. Not only was her license suspended, she was driving the wrong way on a highway and had no lights on. She should have extra time added for being a moron.

I was just discussing this with a co-worker: When did the draft lottery stop televising the actual drawing of the lottery balls? It is kind of shady to come from some back room and say who gets what, it seemed to be pretty legit when they had the actual ball machine so you could view who was getting what pick. Thoughts? -
QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 3, 2007 -> 11:44 PM) http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6764122 Must he hate on every team I like? Apparently he doesn't like good pitching. Dayne Perry = Glorified Blogger He is also obsessed with power in the leadoff role.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 4, 2007 -> 07:34 AM) Are you going to make some smart ass comment everytime he plays a good game? That'll get old quick. Im sure someone will have something to say next week when Stephen Jackson inevitably goes partying and pulls out a gun/gets in a fight. -
