What would happen if we still had Freddy Garcia?
QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:15 AM) yeah, people complained about the trade but gio is establishing himself as one of baseballs top pitching prospects, and anything we get from floyd is just bonus probably LOL, i like how you quoted Heads22's response with the Supervolcano, and then gave a serious response. What difference would it make if Freddy was on the team. He isnt bullpen help, the starters arent the problem. In truth, his ERA would probably be a little higher than Danks or roughly the same.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:31 AM) Not at all.PS: I'm sure there are plenty of people the same way, with negativity taken to the extreme but fairly normal in real life. COUGHtitoCOUGH There is a difference in b****ing about how poorly your team is doing, and cheering on your team losing. A really big difference.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) OMGZ!!! CENA IS DA BEST IN THE WORLD!!!! DANIELSON CAN'T KICK OUT OF THAT MOVE!!1! Seriously though, news on the ROH PPV? I'm still interested in getting it. If you think Orton's chinlocks look weak, you aren't watching wrestling. Whether you think rest hold are boring or not, Orton actually makes those holds look legit. Talk to anyone who has been trained. Who do you know that has been "trained"? Did SIU come up with a wrestling promotion in the 2 years since I left Carbondale? Love the yellow pants that Cena is sporting. I miss Ernest The Cat Miller. That guy was hilarious in the ring and on the mic, I loved when he was on television. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) LoL, I don't remember Lance Storm or Dean Malenko getting anyone to pop. I will give you Lance Storm, he was pretty bland even though a great technical wrestler, but you are dead wrong on Malenko.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:20 AM) Jon Garland + Greg Maddux should never be in the same sentence. what if the Sox are playing the Padres? Can we print "Jon Garland vs Greg Maddux"? Or should we just print "Jon Garland vs an ex Cub, Brave, and Dodger who is really good, much better than Jon Garland"?

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) Dye will still draw some interest for his power and not being overly expensive. But odds are, if he continues to hit this way, we won't get anything in return for him. If he heats up hopefully against NL pitching for the next 2 weeks, I could see the Dodgers making a run for him, and we could probably get a good MLB ready prospect if thats the case. Buehrle is our top trade chip right now, and we could probably get 2-3 really good young players from a contender from him right now. Braves are a possible suiter for him, IMO (Jarrod Salty!). Jose Contreras should have some good trade value as well. He is a veteran with good stuff still and signed for another couple of years, and is putting up good numbers so far this season. He has a no trade clause (limited?) I think, but I could see him waiving it for the Mets because of El Duque. The only problem with that is the Mets rotation has been lights out, but I don't think Hernandez will be dealing like this all season. The Braves are an option as well. Iguchi, we'd be better off keeping, and then deciding in the offseason if he is worth keeping. Mac and Aardsma both could bring something in. Of the two, I'd rather keep Mac because he does have better stuff and I think he is the better overall pitcher. Dye will still draw some interest for his power and not being overly expensive. Paris Hilton out of jail?
QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 12:05 PM) I don't think it's ever really a good idea to antagonize the judge when in court. Stuff like yelling out "May I have your autograph?" at the judge or attempting to merely phone into court will probably just get you in more trouble. I was asking what the judge did wrong to overstep his boundaries though, I know what Paris did wrong

Paris Hilton out of jail?
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 11:41 AM) It seemed like the judge over-stepped his boundaries a lot in this case, could make for an appeal. I think the judge needs to get the stick out of his ass personally. And im not a Paris fan at allll. I dont really understand what his boundaries would be, seeing as Im no Lawyer. Could you explain what he may have done wrong?

Why doesn't Bobby Jenks ever pitch in close games?
Because Ozzie has this bullpen problem thingy. If he brings Bobby in for a hold, and his offense doesnt score and it goes into extra innings, then he doesnt have anyone to actually close the game should the Sox take a lead(haha, funny). Basically, Ozzie is pretty much in a corner with his inneffective bullpen. I suppose Ozzie could bring him in a little more in games like last night where it was 4-3, but were the Sox going to score on Riviera? Doubtful

Paris Hilton out of jail?
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:02 PM) I think they should have given her a cellmate, it probably will make it easier for her. They can give her some young 20 year old non-violent offender. Martha Stewart wasn't in isolation I swear I read somewhere that she had a handpicked cellmate, some girl who committed a nonviolent crime.

Ron Mexico is at it again
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 01:06 PM) Oh well, besides Tank Johnson its good to know the Bears overall seem to take good character guys so we wont have to worry about impact players missing games and making the franchise look bad. Even Tank Johnson of the guys who been suspended seems to have learned the most of the experience and willing to change his life. Also the only one who seemed more than willing to serve his suspension. I second this. I think Tank has been the most contrite out of all of the recent troublemakers in the NFL. Apparently Odell Thurman beat someone down at some party in the last month. That guy is never going to get in the NFL again

Ron Mexico is at it again
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) Well i think the major difference is there is so many ????'s regarding the whole dog fighting thing and Vicks involvement in it all. But with Pacman you know he was at the strip club, you know he punched a stripper in the face, and you know he told a bouncer that he would die or some crap and next thing you know the guy is shot and paralyzed. And like you said when you have such a low opinion on someone in the first place them adding on to it isnt going to help their case. For sure, there are plenty of questions about Vicks involvement. however, his Ron Mexico sexcapades, bringing a bong on the plane, and a few other things recently have brought a little more suspicion to Vick recently. Im really interested to see whats gonna happen with this dogfighting thing. This is a big deal if its true. Its pretty interesting to me that Vicks house was "robbed" recently as well. They took some personal items

Ron Mexico is at it again
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 10:08 AM) Well I just think its a totally different situation with Vick than it was with Pacman. I think Vick is going to have to face some sort of suspension regardless of what happens in the courts just dont know the length. Also Vick is different from all the other players suspended in the fact he is the face of the franchise and one of the biggest stars in the NFL. We are splitting hairs here, but i dont mind a friendly argument. To me, the situations are similar because they both have been involved in numerous legal issues in the past two years, with the only difference being that Pacman was known to be trouble coming out of college. Vick didnt really have that troublemaker stigma following him around when he was drafted, but Pacman had a black cloud around his head. Neither have been charged with anything (yet), but both are being implicated in some serious situations. Pacman may not be "the" face of the Titans, but he is definitely of the the faces of that franchise. Vick is getting some preferential treatment here, no doubt. He seems to have slipped through the cracks with some of his previous problems, while Pacman was nailed to the wall. It will be interesting to see the final result of Vicks dogfighting.

Paris Hilton out of jail?
This is the oddest court case/media phenomenon/jail sentence since OJ. Who would have thought that a DUI could bring so much attention, I bet Paris didnt. Could we set up a poll on this thread? Is that possible, to set up a poll in a thread that is already created? Does Paris Deserve to serve her entire 45 day sentence? And why do you think she does or doesnt? Do you even really care(this should get some good responses, lol)
