  1. More of a "Rod Blagojevich" than a "John Cusack" Blago had to brag about the Sox in 2005 and you could tell he didnt want to
  2. I thought so too, I looked back in the 5 available pages and it wasnt there. Ah well, my bad.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 01:30 AM) He's going to win an Oscar for this role. Since the first time I saw Patrick Bateman in action Christian has been my favorite actor. No doubt. He is one of those quietly intense actors that just becomes the role he is playing. I still get shivers when I see what he did to himself for The Machinist. and its even harder to believe that he put all of that weight back on to play Batman.
  6. Paxson has a lot on his plate this offseason. He still has a few restricted free agents (Nocioni, gordon, deng), and has to find a replacement for, or resign PJ Brown. I would hope for a younger replacement. Of that list: I guess I would prefer Ely out of the bunch.
  7. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 12:47 AM) I was ready to send Danks to Charlotte, but he really made me rethink that opinion. Great game by the rookie. Buerhle needs to stay with the Sox and I ain't ready to give up anything yet. Why would you want to do that?!?! Danks has been a rock in all but a few starts. He keeps the team in the game
  8. QUOTE(NUKE @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 08:44 AM) The world is a really nasty place and the islamo-fascist movement is the driving force behind most of it. This is just further proof that the "religion of peace" is a misnomer for what is really a violent and oppressive religion. Its all in the interpretation of the religion.

This was the team that routinely got handled by the Twins.
  10. Remember when we used to talk about the game in the post-game threads? Yeah, those were the good times..... Danks was awesome tonite, I think his stuff was really jumping all over the place and he was hitting his spots quite well. Gooch looks pretty good in the last week, as does Konerko. Thome just looks....off. I will have to say, the bullpen has been decent on this roadtrip, especially Thornton. Its nice to see the Sox stick around in a tie game and win it late.

Sunshine Looks interesting, something I would definitely go see.
  12. anyone want to chat during the last few innings?
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) Stephen A has really grown. He can be obnoxious but he also flat out knows his s***. I disagree. He knows his opinions, and he plays his opinions as facts. This is where he gets called out repeatedly, because he states his opinions and insists that he is 100 percent right, and never admits when he is wrong.
  14. I wonder if there has been any other times in Baseballs history where two players have gotten to specific milestones(Frank Thomas 500 HR, Biggio with 3000 hits) in the same day? StatmanDu, you are on the clock!
  15. I was listening to the score on the way to work today (Buster Olney and Eric Cassilias at ESPN1000 make Offman and Rogers sound like hall of famers) and Steve Olkin was doing the updates, and I noticed his pronounciation of Javy Vazquez name was a little off, and I got to thinking about it. Olkin was saying "Vass- KWez", whereas I say it "Vass-Kez" How do you say it to yourself, and is there a right or wrong way to say it?
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:48 AM) The idea is good in theory, but the Bulls would never, ever, ever take JamesOn Curry. I don't think prospects who spent their senior year of high school selling drugs to any kid in North Carolina he could find fits the Skiles/Paxson system. Really? Have you checked out what Scott Skiles did in college? JamesOn Curry could be a Bull, and I think they would take him if available, the guy is good.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 02:40 PM) Amare Stoudemire is an offensive force....Tyrus Thomas is an athletic player right now. I'm not saying Thomas won't become a good player, but he doesn't have the tools to really be a low post scorer in the NBA. With what the Bulls need right now and their window wide open in the Eastern conference, this deal would make a ton of sense. I think Skiles has been wanting to get rid of Gordon since the day he came in. I think we also have to factor in the Steve Nash effect on Stoudamire. Im not discounting anything that Stoudamire does, but the guy stands a few feet from the basket, and the second he is open, Nash gets him the ball. The Bulls dont have anyone right now that can drive and dish like Nash can, and if they did who knows what this conversation would entail. But I also agree with Rowand44, I dont see this one happening
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) Stoudemire at least has a nice touch around the rim and gets to the FT line. Tyrus Thomas is a threat to break the backboard with every shot he takes. I've followed Tyrus since his 2nd week of games at LSU, and he's shown very little improvement in terms of offensive ability. Fathom, thats a little under 2 years that you have followed him. The guy isnt even 20 years old yet, and he definitely has shown signs of improvement offensively. He put a few moves on the pistons in the playoffs that were not dunks, he consistently went hard to the basket, he hit some free throws. Thomas has plenty of talent and will make strides. Im not saying he is in the same category as Stoudamire, because he isnt(yet), but you act as if he isnt anything, and that isnt the case.

QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 01:28 PM) If they trade Javy, Kenny better get back atleast the value of Chris Young, El Duque and Vizcaino. You are dreaming
  20. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 10:45 PM) Counting coins on the counter of the 7-11, from a quarter past six ‘til a quarter to seven. The manager Bevan starts to abuse me. "Hey man, I just want some Muesli!" What's not to like?? the strange thing is, when Bret is singing it sounds like it is serious and I dont like it, when Jemaine starts singing I find it funny. Maybe its the looks on their faces(Jemaine makes me laugh just by looking at him)

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 07:09 AM) Cowley wrote Buerhle was, as Hawk would say, a gone goose last week. Does he really know anything? I dont know that anyone anywhere thought anything different at the time, including Kenny and Mark. Last week this entire board had the team stocked with AAA stars from other systems, and the core was traded.
  22. I cant decide if I like "Inner City pressure".
  23. was Oakland the last series they won?
  24. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 08:19 PM) That's EXACTLY how it happened when talking to my wife about it... I've got the first 2 episodes DVR'd. It's funny how i'll watch 90210 reruns with her, but she won't try "Flight of the Concords" lol. You know, if she started watching FOTC with you, she would probably like it. But you will probably never like 90210 reruns, so she would be the only one benefitting from that arangement. Bummer
  25. QUOTE(Chopper2Hopper @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) Again, no backwards K code? thats for the yuppy soxtalk.com
