QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) The best is during the end of the season last year when it was clear that the sox were out of it, I was still going to games, but just for lunch. Walk in, get something to eat, take off. Section 112 I believe. I cant blame you. The food is great, and the lines were probably smaller. Im wanting some italian beef right now. Actually Im craving it

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 02:44 PM) im starving now you are dangerously close to being ignored, my friend.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 02:44 PM) Ya, but it's a good way to go. I cannot disagree. If I were to die, it would be a happy death after eating that

Altman Leaves Arkansas for Creighton
Kyyle23 replied to Palehosefan's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
How can you blame the guy? They made him do a pig call at his press conference and everything. It was enough to make Bob Knight want to return to Indiana. -
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) This is one of those times in a GMs life when you have to look like a patsy or stick to your guns. Angelo just showed the league and the other players around the league that he will listen to offers, but won't take it if he doesn't feel it's worthy. After all the bad press, this is a HUGE win for the Bears. If Briggs gets pissed and lashes out again, the Bears can say, "We think you, as a player, are worth more than a #6 pick. We want you to play next year for our team. If someone comes in with what WE feel is a good offer, we'll take it, but we won't take just anything. Now, why don't you take your 7.2 mil guaranteed for 2007 and you can make your money next year?" I can already imagine the Zach Zaidman interview on the way home from work today, Briggs is going to call up and talk about how disrespected he is and he is going to hem and haw and toe the line and say he wants to stay and he wants to get traded in the same breath. This offseason has been long and brutal

Altman Leaves Arkansas for Creighton

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) Arkansas thought they could pull a Self,Calipari, Pitino figure...they found themselves a coach who Kstate fired. Yeah, and that same guy had about 14 pretty damn good years at Creighton. Altman was given a raw deal at K-state, and more than proved his worth at Creighton. Im sure he will be just fine at Arkansas -
QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 09:57 AM) Wrestling is always better off with a top heel as champion. They haven't that for a few years. Edge is a decent wrestler and he could of had a great run if the Cena love backstage didn't screw it up after he cashed in. Edge was so over as a heel after that and they just took all the stream out of it by giving Cena the belt back after 3 weeks. If Orton, Kennedy, or anyone else would get pushed to it now, I would be grateful. Cena will sell merchandise to the little kids and I don't believe he needs the belt to do that. A face champion=good for merchandise sales A heel champion=good for business I think Edge sucked as champion. He is a good wrestler and a decent heel, but I cant stand him on the mic. Its the same schtick every time with him. "Im rated R. im the best. I beat So and So. I beat him. Im the best. lets have sex on stage. " I thought his whole heel persona was brought on because he was nailing Lita while she was with Matt Hardy. When fans knew that was over, Edge was pretty much done as champ. Maybe if Edge and Orton had a good manager with mic skills I would like them better as a whole, and maybe thats what they need to succeed at this point in their careers. At one point Edge had Christian pulling mic duty, and he never hurt for it. Orton had Triple H and Flair with Evolution. Once both of them had the mic in thier own hands, I became disinterested in them. Mr Kennedy is my favorite heel. He is hilarious, he has the look.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 11:57 PM) So -- is this week's new episode of The Office about to vault it into the category of being another one of those waaaaay too overdramatic shows, or...? What are you talking about? Are you confusing Greys Anatomy with the Office?

Edge looked pretty damn messed up after that high risk move from Jeff Hardy. He might have smashed his pelvis, if I saw that right. Kane v Khali was pretty lame. Taker vs Batista was a good match, you got the feeling that Taker was gonna lose. ECW match was lame, barely registered a blip with the fans.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 12:05 PM) haha, Iowa wanted to get him, now they've moved on to Majerus. Majerus already said no. The buffet probably wasnt big enough Iowa and Michigan are probably focusing on Beilien, Lichtliter, and probably a few other mid-major coaches or BCS assistants.

QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) See what I am sayin'? Soxtalk is any GMs best trade tool.

Sonik, I love your sig. Next year its gonna be Mullins/Falker/Fay. I just read somewhere that Weber makes 700K a year(not positive, salukitalk chat), how strange is it that SIU is paying their coach 50K more than UofI is paying their coach? I dont think that has ever happened before

The funnies thing about this entire thread is that WS07C is being ripped for being pessimistic, and Go05Sox is being ripped for being optimistic.

QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) They don't dare. P.S. See below for the next wrestler suspended for violating the wellness program multiple times. Fixed that for you

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 08:29 AM) Just out of curiosity... if they keep him, he sits 10 and shows up for game 11, what happens if the Bears don't put him in uniform? Or if they just release him? He doesn't get paid in that case then, correct? I think it would become an NFLPA disaster/fiasco of epic proportions. It would probably get them to rewrite the CBA in a hurry to prevent it from happening again. Rosenhaus seems determined to become the Boras of Football. I see him as a cross between Boras and Mark Cuban, for some reason.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:21 AM) I dont think if we lost Briggs we could afford to go after a DT in the top 10. Thats a lot of money t tie up at DT especially when there are so many other positions that need to be addressed more urgently. I would be pissed if we drafted a DT. I think the only way the Bears are drafting a DT is if they get the 6 and trade down for more picks, which is what Clayton and DBAHO are referring to. I dont think there is any way the Bears grab a DT with the 6 pick, that would piss EVERYONE off.

if I were a caricature artist, i would draw a picture of the back of lance briggs head as a microphone with drew rosenhaus speaking into it. Im sick of the quotes, the reasoning, the bullying, and im angry that in the end, Briggs is gonna get his way because of how Rosenhaus works.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 07:23 AM) There was the scene early on with the egoish science teacher where he has the female in the jar, and when Nikki goes to open it up, he tells here not to because she will emit something that will attract all of the males in the area. This is why I love Soxtalk TV show threads. If you miss something, someone is bound to explain it to you.

This is clearly the democrats fault, Republicans never turn 34. Happy Birthday kap

That thieving conniving b***h deserved her fate if she ended up suffocating. I kind of felt bad for Paulo, although he was just as bad. I didnt get why the spiders attacked all of the sudden, it seemed random that every Medusa spider in the area converged and started biting. Maybe I missed an earlier episode or something.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Mar 27, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) I know I am biased here, but I can't believe nobody's responded to this ^ I didnt want to say "Yeah, I figured you would like that" I know your man-crush on Hennig. Its well deserved. Although I was hoping for an intro by Bret Hart, they were best friends after all
