QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 10:52 PM) Is crate training exactly what it sounds like? I had a dog when I was a kid but would probably get one as soon as I get my own place. Curious what it is. A crate is just another word for cage. The basic idea is that most dogs refuse to urinate where they sleep, so you make them sleep in the cage/crate, and when they wake up you take them out immediately to go to the bathroom. Because they have to go so bad, they begin to socialize going to the bathroom with outside because thats where you take them everytime they have to go. If you dont crate train, you really have to know your dogs habits(which is hard because puppies will go wherever and whenever) when he/she is ready to use the bathroom, because you have to take him/her out when you see them starting to sniff around or demonstrate that they have to go to the bathroom. My parents had their Malamute trained before she turned 12 weeks old, it was amazing. Eventually she would paw the door. And the crate became where she preferred to sleep as well. It was tough for the first few weeks though, she did NOT like being locked up all night, and she made noises that sounded like we were murdering her. One thing you have to remember when crate training a puppy is to only give them enough room to sleep comfortably. If you give them extra room to walk around(ie. buying an oversized crate for your puppy) they will go to the bathroom in the crate because they have the room to do it, and set you back on the training. Certain types of crates have an optional divider. Queen Prawn has a little different situation though because she is retraining a dog rather than training. It might last a little longer, or it might click immediately. You never know.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) Mencia is the equivalent of a shock jock anyway. He's like Dice Clay, only less funny. Just likes to spew shocking things. Any moron can do that. I don't think with world will be heartbroken if he fades out of the spotlight. The problem is that HBO is giving him One Night Stand specials and Comedy Central gave him his own show, so we have to hope that his newfound fame due to plagiarism gets him booted. Im just bothered by this because this newfound fame due to plagiarism is drawing viewership.
-
Im surprised Comedy Central hasnt taken action yet. This cannot put them in a good light to be promoting obvious act thievery. Then again, maybe they should have done some research before throwing him on the Chappelle show format and saying "Ready-set-go!"

32 steals???!!?? KU just wasnt in sync. They had two great defenses thrown at them in 3 nights, I dont blame them for being out of sorts. However, those missed free throws vs SIU were scary, but vs UCLA they were fatal. -
A little background, Joe Rogan confronts Mencia onstage.... Shameful. This guy is railroading himself right out of showbusiness. Nowadays you just cant do that, the media will catch it and someone will remember seeing that joke somewhere.

I was just going to suggest a crate before reading the thread. Before you leave, let him out and then straight into the crate. When you come home, straight outside. It reinforces proper behavior, especially if the dog doesnt like to lay where he pees, which most dogs (MOST) refuse to do. Having a boy, you might want to look into a solid crate instead of a wire crate, boys can lift their legs and shoot for outside of the wire crates

All the Philly GM had to do was search the internet for "Freddy Garcia + arm trouble" or "Freddy Garcia + velocity" and I am sure he could have come across hundreds of Soxtalk posts from 2006 complaining about his drop in velocity since joining the white sox. I just dont see how it wasnt noticeable outside of Chicago, the guy used to regularly run it up to 94 MPH or better.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 07:36 AM) ^^^ I also just really like the way Gene Honda says his name. Gene Honda could say any name, in any language or dialect, and it would sound cool. "And Now, Number 79.......Kim Jong Il!" (crowd goes wild)

I think our introduction to Juan Uribe was pretty sweet, when he went into June sporting a .400 average. Other than that, His dive into the stands in Game 4 is pretty much unbeatable to me, with the final out of the World Series being 1A.

If you would have told me yesterday that SIU was going to hold Rush to 12 points and Wright to 7 points, and lose the game, I would have said you were nuts. Im still amazed at the effort by the Salukis, they came out swinging. -
She obviously gets her looks from her mother Congrats SSI, do all you can to prevent her from learning about this site. It will benefit you in the long run. Seriously though, she is beautiful, Im sure you are a proud papa right now.

Gotcha I still dont get the implication of terrorist threats. I want the guy to get put away for something(even though it probably wont be much because pets are considered property), but terrorist threats seems a stretch. Somebody far smarter than me will probably explain it though,

Speaking of Edge, his jaw looks wrong now after breaking it. I dont think that thing is healing right, last night he was talking and doing his trademark grin/jawdrop and it looked......off. Cockeyed is the best description.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 09:20 AM) Good luck, let the best team win. Jimbo is taking a stoic approach to the tourney. Who are you and what have you done with Jimbo? BTW, salukitalk.net welcomes opposing team fans, as long as you keep the talk sensible. Come on down if you are curious. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 06:47 PM) It honestly amazes me how some of these anaylsts have jobs. Digger says SIU is going to play a lot of zone againt KU, and I lol'd because he just embarrasses himself more and more every time he speaks. He doesnt care, but you would think whoever is feeding him his script would note that SIU hasnt played a zone against anyone since Bruce Weber was hired as a coach. Where is Jimbo through all of this? I figured this one would leave him laughing since he jumped on the SIU bandwagon this year, he was bound to say something about it. Salukitalk has a bunch of phog.net quotes posted already, their fans already have this one in the bag. The geography of it doesnt really matter, there are a lot of SIU grads in the Chicagoland area. I think we were all surprised because A: they let us watch the first round game in its entirety, and B: They didnt cut away to a thrilling finish, they cut away to the beginning of the Memphis-Nevada game abruptly, in the middle of a play, and never came back to the game. Then they went to the end of the Wisconsin-UNLV game, which I wasnt surprised at because Wisconsin is very close to Chicago and it was an exciting ending/upset. There was plenty of time there unnecassarily spent on Memphis-Nevada first 3 minutes which could have gone to the end of the SIU game. Great game by the Salukis in a rematch. They made the Hokies look average and slow. -
source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter - Incase you are wondering why Edge has not worked a match in the past several weeks, it is because he is injured. The former WWE Champion suffered a broken jaw while working a match with Rob Van Dam a few weeks ago. The plan is to hold Edge out until WrestleMania 23 where he will compete in the Money In The Bank ladder match. -The Rock's surprise appearance this past Monday on RAW was put together by writer Brian Gerwitz. Gerwitz and The Rock keep in contact on a regular basis. Gerwitz asked The Rock if he would make a cameo appearance on RAW to help promote WrestleMania, and he agreed. Also, The Rock's dialogue in his cameo was completely unscripted. -Chris Jericho is definitely itching to return to the ring, but he would prefer a Mick Foley-type part-time schedule. He would go to TNA if the money was right, and the schedule would be ideal, but he has been pretty consistent in telling people that WWE is his first preference. -Big Show won't be signing with TNA anytime soon. He is involved in some sort of new project in which Show is both excited and motivated about. No details on the project have been given yet. Show will probably make his new commitment public by the start of the summer. -Jim Ross has posted up a new blog on his official website. In regards to a WWE-TNA rivalry, Ross said, "In all due respect to all involved, the good folks at TNA have a few miles to travel before they arrive on the same level as the WWE. The huge misconception here is this; the decision makers at TNA simply need to focus on improving their product and not worry about an imagined war with the WWE. That is largely what the WWE did during the Monday night wars which cannot be compared to an updated Monday night war with TNA, in my opinion. This is not a personal attack on TNA or anyone else but the simple fact is most businesses get better when they focus on what they are doing and not what the alleged competitors are up to."

They had a couple of no-calls at the end there on Pruitt and Carter, but the last 10 minutes of that game were crap offensively for the Illini. They couldnt penetrate to save their lives. -

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 11:41 AM) lol. it's apparently a pile-on year. Bruce was behind the 8 ball when he left SIU, he was never in a win situation with Selfs shadow looming. If Gordon would have stayed true to his word, WS101 would still b*tch about who he missed on and how bad of a coach he is. And he isnt the only one -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 07:46 AM) Donate some damn money. Seriously though, we gotta keep Chris around, unfortunately, if he goes we're losing a lot more than just him. If we can keep him around, this program is going to continue to get better as the prospects he's landing us are just outstanding. If he goes, well there's a possibility we lose Fay, Roundtree and Booker, and all of the sudden we're in a s*** load of trouble. I pretty much think we're going to lose him, I better be wrong. I think Moccia has something up his sleeve, and hopefully Lowery chooses his Alumni over alot more money.
