QUOTE(longshot7 @ Feb 20, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) Yeah, that's what I've heard, in his Cactus Jack persona. that will allow Mick to play off the "firing" he received in 2006. Latest lineup for Mania: HBK/Cena (WWE Title) Taker/Batista (WH Title) McMahon (Umaga) v Trump (Foley?) (IC Title on the line?) MITB Ladder Match: Edge v ??? rumors: Melina/Ashley (Women's Title) MNM/Hardys feud blowoff not bad so far. I bet its Orton

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 20, 2007 -> 10:37 AM) Wow, you're honestly one of the first person I've seen/heard who didn't like Sin City. I loved that movie... I absolutely love both Hellboy and Sin city. I think Ron Perlman was born to play Hellboy, his snide sense of humor is perfect. Im really looking forward to the sequel, I love Guillermo Del Toro movies

Yikes, Missouri St completely dropped out. Not looking good for the valley getting 3+ bids. Bradley is making a nice late season push, but it looks like Creighton has to win out and reach the semi's to get a second bid, and Bradley/Wichita St/Missouri St are going to have to win Arch Madness for a 3rd bid. UNI and WSU have been incredibly dissapointing this season, especially after both of the starts these two teams had. Missouri St has been dissapointing lately as well -
A little off topic, but are the hats they are wearing just Spring Training issue hats? That solid white line carrying into the side of the hat is kind of neat

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Feb 19, 2007 -> 11:17 AM) I'm not the one you're talking about, but as a Stern fan, as long as I can use the Sirius unit I already have, I could care less what umbrella he's under. I'm sure Howard will claim this as a victory, that he took the struggling Sirius, with about 600k users and forced this merger. No, Im referring to TonyHo. He used to love to take every opportunity to blast XM and extol the virtues of Sirius. Now they are one and the same. Its kind of funny

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Feb 19, 2007 -> 11:08 AM) Congrats to all the SIU fans.... you got quite the team there. Easily the best game I watched all weekend. I'm pulling for you guys to get that 3 seed Im hoping they get a protected seed so they can play in Chicago again. When they went to the Sweet 16 they started in Chicago and it was practically a home game for them, it would be nice to get that again. -
A certain Howard Stern fan on this site is probably none too happy about this....

HBO has been running "Stay" with Ryan Gosling, Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts recently, and I sat down and watched it the other day. I was pretty impressed, it is quite a confusing storyline and it really doesnt make any sense until the end, and it holds a really dark aura about it throughout the movie. Ryan Gosling has the "screwed up in the head college kid" act down perfectly now, I have seen him play the same character in a few different roles, but he does it quite well. I recommend checking this one out

QUOTE(T R U @ Feb 18, 2007 -> 11:03 PM) Apparently you haven't been paying attention to the new ECW, but they aren't the same no rules matches they once were.. So yes, Lashley remains the ECW Heavyweight Champion. Further proving the disappointment that is WWECW On purpose, absolutely ignoring it.

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 18, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) Sounds like Batista goes heel on Undertaker from what I read. Yeah, he batista-bombed taker and left him in the ring to get beat on. Im wondering if Lashley retained the ECW strap since he was disqualified for using a chair. And that brings me to another question, why would an ECW match end in disqualification for using a chair? Isnt using a chair considered "extreme"?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 18, 2007 -> 04:44 AM) Kjust checking. Does it make you nervous to go against teams in the big ten who have 7 footers who can basically dominate the paint. I mean, it seemed to me like the thing missing in that game was a post player game, as good as SIU appears to be in that conference, I would really wonder what they would do against a Wisco, or an OSU with the height they will have in the tourney. Throughout the past 5 years the Salukis have been able to hold their own against teams with big men in the post because they deny, deny, deny. Its when other teams have large guards that can match our guards quickness and toughness, those are the teams that give the Salukis problems. Also, what the Salukis lose in height, they make up in depth. Lowery has a pretty deep rotation and he isnt afraid to go to his bench when necessary. And they do have some height on the bench as well, they have Jamaal Foster at 6'10", Tony Boyle at 6'8", even little used Jordan Armstrong 6'6" and Kobby Acquah 7'1". Foster and Boyle get the large majority of the sub minutes, but they are effective subs for Falker and Shaw. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 17, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) Did you get a chance to watch our game today, my friend? Nope, I work saturdays. But I "watched" it over gamecast, and read valleytalk updates. Did anyone see the end of the Louisville-Marquette game? Jerry Smith. Wow -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 17, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) now i havent seen much of SIU or Butler, but are both teams small or was it just the angle? They are starting to get some of the bigger kids nowadays though. The Salukis 5 year run into the tournament has really given SIU better recruits. When they went to the sweet 16 in 2002 they were a much smaller team. Rolen Roberts was the center at 6' 6" -
I think Mariotti is going to leave for greener (read: New York) pastures within the next few years. He has been subtle(sp?) about it, but he has been politicking for it for a while on ATH.

QUOTE(TLAK @ Feb 17, 2007 -> 06:11 AM) No reason for rosin: The same Rule 3.02 now specifically prohibits placing "soil, rosin, paraffin, licorice, sandpaper, emery paper or other foreign substance" on the ball. The rule's penalty phase dictates, "The umpire shall demand the ball and remove the offender from the game. In addition, the offender shall be suspended automatically for 10 games." this shall hencetoforth be known as "The Kenny Rogers Rule" eh?

I have gotten stitches twice in my life, both times in my face, both times due to a kid I used to hang out with when i was 10-15 years old being an idiot and reckless.

QUOTE(T R U @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) I cant believe how any of you like TNA, I have tried to watch it and its just lame. I guess I have a hard time getting into the recycled WWE guys.. and then the original guys they have just dont impress me at all (I do like AJ Styles though, wish WWE could get him.) The thing that bugs me the most is the six sided ring. At least in the WWE the guys can give the appearance that they are bouncing off the ropes and into moves, but the six sided ring forces those guys to visibly manufacture momentum, and it just all comes off looking bad and completely scripted. I dont mind the recycled WWe guys, because some of them needed a fresh start and a shot to be the man(Christian Cage expecially). But it just looks like it is headed straight to WCW he** to me. Kevin Nash really doesnt offer anything, Sting is playing the same role he always has(although I like the return of the surf-punk makeup, the Crow makeup and "depression" was ridiculously outdated). And everytime I watch it, it just looks so....confined. The promos look like everyone is on top of each other, the stage is like 10 feet from the entrance. Maybe if they took their show to a slightly bigger venue and started a regular tour, it would develop into something a little better, who knows. They do have some really good wrestlers in their stable though, I cannot deny them that

QUOTE(juddling @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 09:32 AM) Shelton is yet again proof that WWE writers don't know what to do with good wrestlers. I thought they were going somewhere when he beat HHH 3 or four times in a row....maybe something happened offstage or something. Next thing you know he's a mama's boy whining he's not winning. i haven't watched WWE much the last few months but i know Shelton is back with Haas. Not sure if they are doing any good or not though. He sucks with the mic, its pretty much his whole problem. He cannot create a gimmick to draw the fans, and the fans always want someone who can talk to them. I have yet to see a promo from him that he didnt fumble and sound lost.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) And the bit with Creed, when the bat first flew around and he just sat at his desk, that was great! I thought the entire scene was hilarious. Dwight took off when he realized it was a bat, Angela was on the ground hiding, Kevin was trying to run, that was a great chaotic scene. And when the bat flew out and Kelly started yelling "Kill it! Kill it!", that was classic

Umaga squashing Dusty Rhodes and Roddy Piper last night was lame, Umaga needs to fued with someone like Taker IMO, and stop running in and squashing inferior/past their prime wrestlers. I do like the "Loser shaves his head" match between Vince and Trump though, although I see no way in H*** that Trump ends up shaving his head. The 8 man tag match was a missed spot fest at the end. Just ugly.
