  1. QUOTE(AirScott @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 08:13 AM) He sucked in Minny after Moss left, before he was injured. I'm saying he really, really benefited from being able to throw Moss seven or eight jumpballs in the end zone every season. You can't blame the knee for throwing 12 picks and six TDs in seven games in 2005. What Balta is saying is that Culpepper wasnt healed last year, and it wouldnt have mattered if Culpepper was in Miami or Oakland last year because his knee was still screwed up. Culpepper wouldnt have been throwing to Moss much of last year for the same reasons he wasnt able to hit Chambers and Booker, he didnt have the line to protect him and he didnt have the mobility to escape pressure. BTW, Culpepper to Oakland is a done deal now http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2956542
  2. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) No way. Forking that much out for Garnett was kind of ridiculous. If the Bulls were to do that yes we might win a Chamionship but it would ruin our depth alot for future years. A trade like that would really nullify what Paxson has done since he becamse the GM. I dont see it either but how can you not like having a guy like Allen to drain threes on the arch, a go to the basket player in Pierce and post player in Garnett. Beyond Pierce, Allen and Garnett they are extremely young. Who do they got, Rondo, Perkins, Allan Ray, Glen 'Big Baby' Davis and Pruitt. If their big 3 play most of the game yeah Id put them at the top of the Eastern Conference but their depth and youth will kill them. They also could really use a solid defender. I think they will contend, dont get me wrong. Something about it reminds me of the Knicks situation the last couple years with shooters and ballhogs (Pierce and Allen, Marbury and Francis) coexisting on the same floor and never gelling because they are all used to being "The Man", but I think they will be able to overcome that and make the playoffs. i dont think they vault up to the top 3 of the East, either. I think the Bulls, Pistons, Heat, and possibly the Cavs will be able to handle this team, provided they could stay healthy of course. Health is always a concern for these players as well, Allen(ankles) and Garnett(knee) have had some painful nagging injuries the last few years.
  3. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) Rex won us some games last year. St. Louis comes to mind, when the D couldn't stop them. You are preaching to the choir, I really like Grossman, always have. Like I said, if he could take those horrible games he has and turn them into merely mediocre games, he will be a fantastic QB
  4. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:55 AM) WOW. John Clayton was talking on Mike and Mike. They asked him what was the most exciting thing he has seen in all the camps so far. First thing he mentioned, the bears OFFENSE. Yes the offense people. He said Hester was putting on a show in camp and compared him to Steve Smith but only faster. Also talked great about olsen. To see an unbiased point of view mention this gets me a little excited. Honestly, I never expected much from hester except for trick plays. We may have something good here. It's time to get excited about the O. I know all of us are a little worried because of Rex. A quarterback is like a starting pitcher , 1 game you can be DOMINANT, the next completely horrible. Starting pitchers and quarterbacks also can have career years. Don't count Rex out guys. Rex had a decent year in his first full year, and by Bears QB standards he still is way at the top of the list(which isnt saying too much, but still). Rex will have more weapons to his disposal, another year with the same OC and the same playbook, and hopefully a little confidence more than cockiness after having a Superbowl year last year. The premise of the season will still be the same, the defense will do what they do and Rex really only has to manage the game, but the prospects of the offense are really exciting this year. If Rex can turn some of those total stinker games into merely mediocre games, his numbers will be through the roof.
  5. Screamin A Smith just said that Boston is now easily in the top 3 of the EAST, maybe top two. Calling Eastern Conference finals and maybe NBA finals. I really dont see it, besides those guys, who does Boston have? Those three are pretty good, dont get me wrong, but Boston is getting rid of most of thier team to get Garnett, who else is going to be around?

    30 Days of Night trailer. Click on "Watch restricted content for 18 years or older" Looks like a good horror flick/graphic novel adaptation
  7. QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 09:48 PM) Orton does plenty, I see the legend killer "crap" as a side deal.. but seriously, how can you forget about him beating Cactus Jack in that Hardcore match? That match was awesome. Because Mick Foley has been boring for the better part of the last 5 years. It was an easily forgettable match.
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) Hasn't Orton already killed the Legend of Sgt. Slaughter? Isnt this legend killer crap wearing thin with you guys? It isnt proving anything, he is beating up old guys who show up for a paycheck now and again. he still hasnt "killed" the legend of the Undertaker. Whats the point anymore? IMO its just making him look bad, and not heel bad, more like incompetent bad. I see what you guys see in him too(even though i would rather not admit it), but this legend killer crap is just stunting his growth as a wrestler. He is gonna have to go toe to toe with some one like Umaga(the unstoppable type) and step up to the next level before he gets his shot at a title hold for a while, or a good program with HHH. Yes. I said Legend killer crap twice
  9. Come on, Sgt Slaughter? Candace Michelle could beat up the sarge at this point
  10. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) IIRC I dont think it was more about him trying to become an actor. But more UPN not wanting an islamic character on their programming. And once he found out that the WWE wasn't going to be using him at all, then he made it known what his plans were. From what I read it was a little of both. His promo that got him fired(pretty much) was unreal. He said some really inciteful things and generated an amazing amount of heat. If someone was guiding them correctly, it could have been done a lot better.
  11. QUOTE(Shadows @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 08:42 PM) He didn't look any bigger than he always did Maybe its just because you are use to seeing him in a suit No, his arms and chest were a lot bigger than last time he was in Smackdown, before he was sent down. On a side note, I think he is a great heel manager, he is probably going to be misused(again) and wash out of WWE soon. Too bad that islamic character tried to use WWE as a stepping stone too soon and put Daivari out of a job, I thought they had the best heel heat I have seen on the WWE in a long time.
  12. Holy crap, Daivari is on the juice. When did he go and get big like that?
  13. LOL! Gooch just hit a bomb! Rowand and Iguchi are knocking Ted Lilly around
  14. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) Over exaggeration of the decade. im here all day folks(actually only an hour more. Then briguy and Soxphan77 can pick up where I left off with overexaggerations)
  15. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:50 PM) According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Twins could be receiving catcher Drew Butera and outfielder Dustin Martin from the Mets in the Luis Castillo trade. That's it? The draft picks Castillo would have brought are far more valuable that those two. The Twins can't really be this cheap, can they? Butera, 23, has hit .231/.297/.344 between Single-A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton this year. Martin, also 23, was hitting .287/.358/.421 for St. Lucie. Neither player projects as a major leaguer. Im done doubting Terry Ryans ability to assess minor league talent.
  16. This whole voting for who is best is beneath us, if you ask me. This messageboard community knows how great it really is. I dont think I can find one site out there that is as good for such a diverse community of dedicated fans. No matter what happens in that vote, there is only one #1 in my book.
  17. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) It depends on who they put in CF next year. Someone who can cover ground and can get good jumps. Hunter comes to mind. Not that they are going to shell out the dough...but a good CF can definitely shore up the corner spots. And the Red Sox are doing just fine with Manny being Manny out there in LF. Damon was good when he was with them and Crisp can throw the leather. Fields/Hunter/WMP wouldn't be great, but it'd be better. From the small sample I have seen of WMP this year alone, WMp makes Manny look like a GG outfielder
  18. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:37 PM) KW = 1 World Series Ring Terry Ryan = 0 World Series Rings Huge Difference. LOL!

  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) With prancer, not catching flyballs, and heading balls instead of catching him, how much worse can he be. At least when he hits the ball it goes far. I hate strikeout guys as much as the next guy, but we have prospects that strikeout a lot and not hit a lot of homers. At least if you are going to swing hard for the fences, hit a dong from time to time. im not comparing him to Pods, I didnt say he would be our best OFer going into next year. His defense definitely has to factor into the equation, if he is giving up runs by being that bad I see a problem. I think KW could do better than putting WMP in the OF next year
  21. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:25 PM) Who cares if he strikes out a bit? If it means he's taking strong cuts and is hitting 20-30 homers, I could care less. And his defense?
  22. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:19 PM) Where are you getting Hansen from? From all reports it's either Delcarmen or Masterson. Masterson would rank in the top ten prospects in the Sox farm system, and Wily Mo would rank right now as the best OFer we have heading into 2008 (sad as that may seem). WMP is also one year removed from a very good season. I'd much rather have that than two draft picks, neither of which would be in the 30 (I think it's more likely that Dye signs his last big contract with a 'winning' team). Best what? Hitter? Maybe, but still doubtful as the guy strikes out a ton. And his defense is nothing short of atrocious
  23. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:12 PM) That is one hell of a coaching tree
  24. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) how many more times can this be posted? Norberto Martin says 5 more times
  25. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) Sad...but he's no longer in pain. They need to name a trophy or something for him. He absolutely changed the way football is played. RIP. Does the Coach of the Year trophy already have someones name associated with it?
