  1. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) ISO power numbers... BABIP..BABIB...PA's
  2. QUOTE(samclemens @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) you are right, the uniforms are a technical point. but its still valid. i'll stick with it. dont only address half of my argument though. what about the violations they have and continue to commit? then trying to be afforded it's protections? i got a huge problem with that kind of blatant hypocrisy, thats why i feel so staunchly about this issue. I did address it. You are telling me that the US should be hypocrites because the terrorists are hypocrites. I disagree. If you believe in something (ie. the geneva conventions) and you tell everyone you are going to follow that something, then you better not renege because the bad guys didnt play fair. Guess what? The bad guys never play fair. Its the way it goes, thats why they are criminals.
  3. QUOTE(samclemens @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) well i guess we should protect sworn enemies of our country with a doctrine that does not apply to them. we should also collectively stick our thumbs up our asses and wait for the next 9/11. also sounds like a winning strategy over in iraq. but its ok, cause we will still be "better" than them. soldiers who do not wear uniforms cannot be afforded the geneva convention's protections. it was the same in WWII (soldiers caught in battle or behind enemy lines without their uniform were allowed to be executed by their captor). the fact that they arent dressed in uniform means that they cannot hide behind the geneva convention. that and their blatant disregard of it's rules. who even knows how much else of it's been violated by different acts of terrorists. Right, we should tell everyone, "Do as I say, dont do as I do." Uniforms are a pathetic argument.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 11:19 AM) Kind of a "i was late for my deadline and wrote this at 3am" type of article. No s***, he even ended the whole thing abruptly.
  5. QUOTE(samclemens @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 11:14 AM) on top of that, even if you were to call insurgents and terrorists an "army" (which they are not), you cant ignore the fact that they consistantly break geneva convention rules every day, yet once caught attempt to hide behind the same rules they have no regard for whatsoever. unless you are going to argue that beheading non-combatants is not a violation of the geneva convention. So you are saying that we should ignore the geneva convention because the terrorists do? Doesnt that make us as bad as them? I especially like the assertion that these guys dont need to be treated fairly because they arent dressed properly, lol.
  6. these guys can all go f*** themselves. Im sick of them inventing new and clever ways to stick their fingers into my bank account. I have a collection of well over 1000 cds, Im not about to re-acquire $10,000+ worth of music just because these guys think I am not playing fair.
  7. Scott Stapp is the biggest douche of the past decade. Kid Rock gets a pass because he wasnt married at the time.
  8. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines The money quote(for me, at least): Screw you Dick Justice.
  9. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 10:33 AM) Yes, it was Urbina...had a brain cramp. Yeah, the way you read this, Urbina would kill this guy for Ozzie. It was real weird how Ozzie runs into this guy at the prison. It almost sounded like Ozzie is walking around the place, and just runs into this killer. Very strange. I dont know exactly how they run the prison there, but when i watched Urbina's interview from jail last year, it was like prisoners were in a large cell that visitors could walk up to. Ugueth was being interviewed, and there were all kinds of prisoners behind him milling around. This must be their form of a visitation cell. Ozzie was probably standing there and his buddies killer probably passed behind Urbina.
  10. www.RegretTheError.com A website that chronicles all of the errors in news media and addresses whether they have been corrected or not. It is interesting to me that there is someone out there who gets so worked up that newspapers make errors that he has to make sure that they are corrected. I browsed for a little while when I got bored, its good to waste a little time.
  11. shouldnt this be in the filibuster? Happy Birthday W&O
  12. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 09:09 AM) Yeah, it was a good read. Ozzie has really seen some f***ed up s*** in his life. I felt for him, running into the killer of his best friend. This happened during a visit to that pitcher in jail, forgetting his name. Anyway, the friend in jail asked him 'What do you want me to do?....sounded bad. Ozzie told him nothing. Ugueth Urbina asked Ozzie "what do you want me to do?" about taking care of his best friends killer? Really? That is sure going to help Ugie beat the rap that he hacked up his poolboy with a machete and doused him with gasoline, now isnt it?
  13. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 05:21 PM) Well Artest isn't like that. His teammates lime him and all, he just loses his temper and refuses to get treatment for it. Jermaine O'Neal was pretty fed up with Artest for the past year. With all of his trade demands and constant suspensions Artest did not endear himself to his teammates this year. Also, you cannot forget about this: There is more to Artest than his temper. This guy pretty much spat in the face of the club that backed him up after one of the worst incidents in the history of the NBA(Rudy Tomjonavich notwithstanding) and didnt want to be part of them anymore.
  14. SI.com and ESPN.com are saying that Davis stays through the end of the season http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...avis/index.html
  15. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) Now that I've read the whole thing, you'll want to read this article. He puts a major rip on A-Rod. Mike&Mike just mentioned that in their show. We should all be properly prepared for the media to rip Ozzie, because he is gonna be ripped for the next couple of weeks over this. Ozzie also put in a shot on Nomar Garciaparra representing Mexico.
  16. What is your problem people? The code is up up down down left right left right ABAB Select Start. Come on now, this is just ridiculous.
  17. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) You missed a few others: .... holy s***, that show is way better than just Bonnie Raitt and Tom Petty. That show is gonna be great. I would personally go to see Bela Fleck, Beck, Son Volt, Radiohead, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, Death Cab, Ben Folds, Steven Malkmus, and assorted others. But to characterize Bonaroo as equal to just Bonnie Raitt and Tom Petty is just wrong.

QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) i loved the dog Rimshot.......same type of dog they used in The Mask IIRC.....i like that type of dog Thats a Jack Russel Terrier, or a Rat Terrier. One of the two, they are both very similar looking dogs. If I were ever to get a "little dog", a jack russel terrier would be my dog.
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) "In fact, just to say I saw her, I would love to see Bonnie Raitt too." Now you sound like a Cub fan. Ha, Im not going to repeatedly pay for something I dont want to see. Just one time.
  20. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 12:13 PM) Borch does play good.. not great defense. He has a decent arm. Who else they have to play CF?? Pods?? Now there is a scary f***ing thought. Why is that so scary? he was a starting center fielder at the major league level for 2 years at Milwaukee with 276 games started. Borchard only started 25 games at CF at the major league level, I dont know how many at the minor league level but it couldnt have been too many with Anderson in AAA. I dont think it is as scary as everyone else does.
  21. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 11:28 AM) If Joe Borchard can bat 8th, (he would be an average CF and gold glove LF. problem is Pods is nowhere near a CF at least Borchard has an arm) I would be fine with this. I actually think Borchard is going to have an impact for us. Hahaha, why is that?
