Fields' HR
QUOTE(ExpatNYC @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 12:04 PM) Isn't anyone worried about Fields's obvious difficulties with hitting 87mph fastballs down the middle of the plate? He made Mike Mussina look like Nolan Ryan. Mike Mussina is still one of the best pitchers in the game, he has done that to alot of players

A hypthetical if...
Is Tex worth Soriano money? Heck, I dont even think Soriano is truly worth that money, but now that the bar has been raised to that level, does Tex have the same worth that Soriano does? He doesnt steal bases, but he provides GG defense at first. HRs and RBIs are pretty similar, Tex is a switch hitter. Whats the consensus on Texeira's worth?

Flight of the Concords
My favorite part of the show was the last scene, where the girl asks Bret if he "Likes to have a good time", and Jemaine pops his head in between them and says "Im Bret". And Bret taking the shower with his clothes on was pretty funny as well. Dave (Arj Barker) has some of the funniest lines, but he has so few lines. Murray buying sawdust from AJ Jones was pretty hilarious

Fields' HR
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 08:46 AM) Yes. Implying that the second month being a little better than the first month of a guy's career means he will do nothing but improve. I'm not dismissing anything on Crede. It takes time. You think the Sox have one option, non tendering Crede, because of all Fields has shown in his 2 months. I'm saying he hasn't shown all that much to be a regular 3rd baseman on a championship calibur team. Crede's already done that. His $5 million or so arb figure isn't going to blow the budget. No, but if his back doesnt come around like expected, he has a setback, etc. then the Sox are stuck with an unmoveable player who they are paying for two years in a row. Its risky to bring him back and hope that all is well, despite what his doctor is saying.

White Sox vs. Tigers, 8/04/07 (W)
QUOTE(AirScott @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) More homers and RBIs and a better slugging percentage for Hawk. He finished third in MVP voting, six spots ahead of Yaz. Yeah, the slugging percentage is a little bit higher, but Yaz had more hits, a better average, more doubles, SB, Walks, and OBP. Its a good debate, even though Hawk has the trump card with the MVP votes

Hawk just said he was obsessed with having a better year than Yastremski in 1968, and then said he did have a better year. What do you think? http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/BOS/1968.shtml

QUOTE(SoxFan77 @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 08:19 PM) Also enter random pitcher most never heard of... Owning him I actually respect the fact that Hawk hardly glorifies himself when it comes to facing pitchers. He will talk about how he had a good year and this and that, but i rarely hear him say anything to put down pitchers he faced.
