White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 7/2807 (W)
QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 07:04 PM) Well, one thing that people aren't mentioning....Scottie sees a bouncing ball up the middle and is running hard because he wants to score on a base hit. Razor Shines doesn't exactly put up the stop sign early, and McDonald just alertly throws it over to third immediately. It was just an outstanding play by McDonald, even Glaus was shocked to have the ball thrown over. It wasn't Scottie's fault. If anyone, I blame Shines, although it was more a very heads up play by McDonald than anyone's fault. I agree, Shines must have fallen asleep to let him go that far from the base. But the rundown part is what pisses me off. Pods is fast, he can steal some bases, he should be able to at least give a little chase there. He just stopped

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 7/2807 (W)
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 06:59 PM) Anyone mind explaining what happened? Pods on second, Uribe on first. Richar hit it up the middle, the SS John MacDonald dove and stopped it, and threw it to third because Pods took a wide turn, they had Pods in a rundown and he just stopped and let Glaus tag him without one rundown throw. edit: damn i type slow.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 06:58 PM) Wasn't paying attention. Glanced at TV and thought that was Owens batting. Similar stances. except not even close. Owens has a way more wide open stance than Richar

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 7/2807 (W)
Richar didnt look totally lost, and he swings with a mean purpose And Pods is the worst at a rundown situation i have ever seen. With two outs, at least make them chase you around a little bit

Sox scouting Houston relievers?
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 28, 2007 -> 04:43 PM) Dude, that's just it... he's already made moves for BP... he's moved the pieces you move for bullpen, and got a bunch of castoff bulls***. You just don't trade for middle relief, plain and simple. You want prospects? Get a starter... worst case scenario he works out in the bullpen. I know its funny to think back to a philosophy that Kenny has been burned on before, but you "just don't trade for relievers" despite what level they are on. Do you draft a reliever? Royce Ring anyone? Do you trade for a reliever? Billy Koch anyone? I'm just incredibly against making moves for relievers, or wasting scout time looking at them. So you are saying that relievers should come strictly from your own farm system and that they should only be starters that flopped? And Royce Ring and Billy Koch are the great examples of why this is true? Wow

I think its gonna be interesting. Supposedly the entire film was shot on handheld videocameras, and its supposed to be Godzilla meets War of the Worlds. Im a sucker for that type of stuff, so I will probably like it

MLB is pretty good about keeping their video off of sites like Youtube and such. I dont know where you would find it without buying a MLB blooper video

Possible 3-way deal?
If the BoSox were going to play Dye 5 days a week, they were going to have to get rid of someone in the outfield. Wily Mo was probably going somewhere, but probably not the Sox, probably to the unnamed 3rd team. I wouldnt mind seeing Coco Crisp on the Southside, but thats probably doubtful

White Sox Winner!
Thomas hit that ball a mile straight up, and the wind swirls a lot in US Cellular. Pods looked like a complete doofus jumping for a ball that landed underneath him, but it wasnt really an error.

AAP: Danny Richar
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 04:49 PM) Given that Iguchi was traded today, Richar is probably on his way to Chicago right now. Therefore, here are what I think are Danny's final numbers for Charlotte: 133 AB's, 46 hits, 5 doubles, 4 triples, 5 home runs, 10 BB's, 4/4 SB's, 24 k's, 15 RBI, .346/.400/.556/.956 Where did he bat in the order?

ozzie told reporters(so says Kerry Sayers) that Konerko got the night off because he is a little banged up and that he will be back in the lineup tomorrow. He is just getting a night off, nothing serious

Michael Vick Accepts Plea Deal Per ESPN
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 08:41 AM) Just read that Vick apologized to his teammates yesterday for not being there with them for "spring training." Priceless. Was that what Vick said? Or what his Jackie Chiles-esque lawyer read from his statement? Watching his lawyer in a press conference yesterday was like watching a comedy in the making, I kept waiting for the fake Pootie Tang to walk out from the background.

Briggs agrees to one year deal
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 09:42 PM) Despite all that they re-opened talks for a long term contract b4 the deadline, obviously they didnt get it done but they still re-opened talks. And he has taken the tag this early so he wont be out of game shape or anything and we will have him the whole season. Im sure they will atleast talk about an extension i just dont know the likelyhood that it gets done.... especially with the need to sign Tommie Harris longterm soon. When he hits the open market like he will next year, the Bears arent going to match what Dan Snyders rich and dumb a## is going to throw at him. And Harris is much more valuable in the scheme than Briggs is. Dont get me wrong, I like Briggs a lot, but Lovie always preaches "it starts with the front four", and we all saw how the defense sagged without Harris.

Contreras's Contract Extension
QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) Well, there was Rowand (all-star baby!). And McCarthy. And Young (although not with the Sox...). Jenks came up from the minors although he spent more time in the LAA system. And some Sox relievers have gone on th big league careers elsewhere (Rauch, Guerrier,...). Crede, Buehrle

Classic video game memories
Me and a buddy used to play a baseball game for NES that was robots. Mecha-baseball or something, it was a blast. Players exploded when they were thrown out, pitchers and batters had special power-up swings and pitches. It was a really fun game for 12 year old Kyle
