  1. We are operating on “well, because another guy turned it around that means Getz is going to”. I can’t argue when you say “pedigree AND record doesn’t matter” because we all know it does. the Sox are likely to trade Robert, and the word is that is to free his salary up for whatever free agents they are gonna sign. So we are looking at filling gaps with around 20 million dollars. We could literally be staring at 4 straight years of 100 losses next season, and then a labor impasse in 27 which our fearless leader loves to participate in so he doesn’t have to pay bills. But it doesn’t matter good times a comin!
  2. Ah I see. Nothing matters. Carry on
  3. Luhnow had an incredible run in the Cardinals organization running their minors and was brought in to fix the Astros scouting and development. quite the opposite of Getz run in our minors. They couldn’t have more different resumes leading up to their GM jobs. And, you know; Luhnow actually interviewed for his job as opposed to having the league grant some weird ass exception to Reinsdorf if you want to compare them, then start at the beginning.
  4. I prefer the GWB rendering of this song, for the accurate comparison to the Sox
  5. I don’t know why he felt that way. None of his predecessors walked that path. It actually seems like a dead end as opposed to an opportunity.
  6. The problem is that “better than a year ago” is “better than the worst team in history” which is just the bar laying on the ground for you to trip over. there is a long long way to go for this team to get competitive. Hell, there is a long long way to go for this team to be merely mediocre
  7. Put a good squad in there and you get those seats filled immediately
  8. Yea, the hawks don’t have the Cubs fandom, there is a drop off when the team is bad
  9. 3 rain checks, actually
  10. Hundo baby. Can’t waste a season
  11. Man what. I’m not defensive at all, it’s just a ridiculous assertion
  12. lol wat? He has been a highlight machine all season
  13. Cannon looked like he believed that he gave up another bomb to Judge lol
  14. I mean, let him finish the inning at this point. He got those two outs might as well let him try and finish it instead of cannon coming in and possibly blowing it
  15. Ellard just havin a time out there
  16. And when Benetti did it, it was to work elsewhere, not to go home and chill
  17. Skubal falling apart yesterday was an ominous sign
  18. Nah, this is exciting. One of the most disappointing things I had ever seen was when the 1993 Giants and Braves ended with 103 and 104 wins and the Giants went home. Having so many different teams with actual stakes with a week left is fun
  19. The way Hawk says it, it was just “bye, enjoy retirement”
  20. Unfortunately this does fall within the purview of his job description. So, to answer your question, Jerry made him all of those things
  21. I am a GREAT googler tyvm tell me tray, are Sox fans supposed to have a seat at the table for this negotiation? Are we to be privy to the deal? Is this common with other organizations? Seems like you believe that this “behind closed doors negotiation” is nefarious and because you weren’t called to approve it, it’s now to be doubted. Jerry made this deal, no? maybe you should be mad at him
  22. Lions are taking it to Baltimore so far
