Again, I listened to OB and Hampton after the game. OB crying about you can't win with defense, and said the last time you could was 1963. Then he is complaining you need to throw more. Then they bring up these 2 calls and he's says, who would you throw the ball to? Nobody. Well, if you have 2 chances to complete a 1 yard pass when the opposition thinks you will run and you fail, what makes anyone think that they would have started completing passes had they run for the first down?
My issue yesterday wasnt really that they didn’t throw enough per se, it’s that they put Mitch in bad spots with a predictable Run-Run-Pass offense. Far too many three and outs when the defense was doing their job against one of the best QBs in the history of the league. Coupled with the missed FG and taken away touchdown, just a very disappointing ending
