  1. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 02:56 PM) Call me a homer but I still don't buy Cespedes to Washington. You are a homer
  2. QUOTE (Coach @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:22 AM) Ricketts is right but the outside the park stuff is fun even at my 53 years. What's outside the Cell? Project housing. Hasnt this all been torn down?
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 08:36 AM) Then why spend over 300 pages discussing someone who doesn't even play for the White Sox if it's so inconsequential? It is consequential. What you are talking about, is not
  4. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 03:54 AM) What the heck, no mention of Glenn Frey? RIP QUOTE (juddling @ Jan 18, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) RIP Glenn Fry......someone is putting together a heck of a super-group
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 07:21 AM) How ridiculous. I guess if it worked the first time? i have a feeling there will be more cameras at this Bar school then there were on the Edens where he left his Lambo. If he was the one driving, his uber receipt isnt gonna save him
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) What does that have to do with anything? Some of us play catch up and can't just be posting 24/7. I'm just joking with him Steve, cool out
  7. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 07:15 AM) Put down the scotch Hawk. lol, says the guy with three consecutive posts QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 07:15 AM) How the hell does a thread about a possible Cespedes signing morph into a thread about Forbes team value evaluations? And what's this nonsense about combining the Bulls and Sox values? For the umpteenth time, the Bulls and Sox are two different entities with two different ownership groups. Their values and finances have nothing to do with each other. CF12-ed
  8. another one of Lance Briggs high end vehicles crashed and ditched http://wgntv.com/2016/01/20/porsche-belong...nto-bar-school/
  9. QUOTE (captain54 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) So basically if it doesn't interest you it's a bunch of crap and we should all shut it down.. Who appointed you all high and mighty in terms of what people should or should be interested in? What would you rather discuss? Lets go over the potential starting lineup for the 2016 opener.. for the millionth time… or lets discuss any other you deem appropriate.. God forbid someone discuss something that doesn't interest you.. I find at least it a topic of note, that a high ranking member of the Sox organization got busted (assuming this is 100% true) for expressing his rather disparaging opinion of Sox fans.. I'm curious about everything Sox and the Sox organization… is this the way the organization as a whole feels about their fans? Is Cooper basically the hothead that ends up not being able to contain the corporate restraint? There's a lot more to this story than maybe you're aware off. He really went off on some people, some season ticket holders… Bottom line.. I get it.. there's a certain faction that must desperately twist any negative attitude about the Sox as rants from a bunch of whiny babies and lunatics.. It works out great because it helps support their superior view of themselves as the more knowledgeable, calm, restrained, professional fan... Omg my teenage daughter is less drama. We get it, you are offended that someone who may or may not have been Cooper dared to say we don't need you if you don't support us. Shake your fist at the sky, Abraham!
  10. The last three years me and my buddies did a rumble pool and I won twice. It's nice to go home with 100 bucks
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 04:24 PM) Pretty sure he's quoting his source there. You know, bucket. Lol, hardly
  12. QUOTE (captain54 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Athlete life? we are talking business and marketing 101… where normally when there is a problem with the product, or attendance in this case…you address what YOU are doing wrong, as opposed to what the CUSTOMER is doing wrong.. on second thought. you may be right.. life at 35th and Shields reflects more of an insular "company softball team" mentality, as opposed to life in the real world... Yea man, the Sox are such a different organization than everyone else. I'm sure they have extended their marketing department to cover Facebook decorum I hear Kenny Williams got on Twitter and told everyone to suck eggs. Let's all hold hands and sing kumbaya and maybe it will go away
  13. QUOTE (captain54 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 02:46 PM) You are a regular customer at a restaurant.. the ownership changes the menu, the decor.. the quality overall is not to your liking.. You and others decide to go elsewhere..suddenly the restaurant is empty most nights.. The owner or members of the staff go public and rip their former customers.. disparaging them, in some ways insulting them.. placing the onus of their failure to draw customers on the actual customer.. rather than flaws in their operation… Apparently, you would probably agree with this scenario as well... The real life to athlete life comparison is weak. It's not even remotely the same planet and you know it If you want to be butt hurt about Facebook messenger comments that may or may not be real, whatever. Live your truth, rage on, fight the good fight
  14. QUOTE (captain54 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 02:15 PM) Well, you don't know the whole background of how this thing got started, so basically... you don't know what you're talking about, so we'll leave it at that… there's whining there but its no more or less than any other fan board… of course, in your fantasy world it sounds like your panacea is for everyone to hold hands and sing Kumbaya, despite three losing seasons… Yea, tons of Kumbaya and hand holding here at Soxtalk
  15. There is so much 20/20 hindsight in a vacuum general managing here. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 01:08 PM) If you have a roster full of players that wouldn't fetch anything on the trade market (except for jimmy), doesn't your GM suck? Please. The bulls have plenty of assets. Boers and Bernstein are on now, call them and yell at them
  16. QUOTE (Kevtrem @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 12:09 PM) If we let this thread get to 300 before Yo signs, I would be ashamed and embarrassed for us all. I hope your 17 posts have enough room for all of the shame
  17. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) Yep, some of knew the " cheap " word would be used at some point. Was just a matter of who and when. I was more playing off his incorrect usage of the word "To"
  18. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) White Sox are to cheap to pay up. Where are we going? To cheap! To cheap we go!
  19. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) For what its worth I've seen the comments. Have them now on my computer. Don't know if it is the real Don Cooper or not but the poster who originated the story was pretty true to what was said and how. That being said considering some of the other stuff Cooper has said like on the radio, it wasn't that bad. Once he realized he was 'talking' with a female Sox fan who claimed she and her husband went to a number of Sox games last year, he backed off a little and offered to be 'friends.' Still as I said earlier, it's business 101, you don't rip your fan base at any time regardless if you think you are right or not. I mean it's not like the Sox are drawing three million a year and can afford to insult any fan or group of fans. Just my opinion. Mark Be honest lip, has Coop ever come across to you as the type that really gives a s***? Even if this was him, I would still shrug and care not, because he is a grouchy SOB and that isn't gonna change
  20. I have a feeling something is going to happen today™
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 10:21 AM) http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/i...ing-up-momentum Cespedes back to Mets momentum increasing "Sign him to a five-year, $120 million contract with a two-year opt-out and a ton of deferred money. Cespedes, 30, could claim victory -- he would get the long-term security he wants and a higher average annual value ($24 million) than Justin Upton ($22.125M). The Mets would win, too -- the five-year term is shorter than Cespedes desires, the deferred money would lower the present-day value of the deal and the opt-out would ensure that the outfielder stays motivated." You wouldnt think the Mets would be getting into more deferred payments to players, seeing how they are still so far in the hole that there is no light for like 20 years.
