QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) Things I'd do to see Eric Berry and Sean Smith in the Bears secondary. Both free agents at seasons end... Unrestricted?

If you trust in Bowdens sources, then you deserve to be misled

@ken_rosenthal #Tigers continue to monitor outfield and bullpen markets, sources tell me and @jonmorosi. Complementary pieces, most likely.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:07 AM) Rose has never gotten star calls. He doesn't put on the acting show that other stars put on to get those calls either. The crazy thing is he has always gotten fouled a LOT harder than the guys acting it out. I still vividly remember Dwight Howard knocking him out of the air

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) TDKR is not only the best Batman film, but its one of the best movies of the decade and to come out in recent memory. The film got a lukewarm reception because after TDK came out in 2008 people sarted writing the sequel in their head (I am scared that Episode 8 is going to suffer a similar fate) and when TDKR came out and it was not what they imagined, people were disappointed. When you criticize something, especially art you are supposed to judge on what it is, you never judge something on what its not it what you wanted it to be. Another thing that turned people away from the movie was the Aurora incident. TDKR is a better film than TDK, but when you compare the two you have to remember that they are very different movies. BB is an adventure movie, TDK is a crime thriller, while TDKR is a post apocalyptic war film. I could go on but TDKR is just better. This is just ridiculous, people didnt like it less because of the Aurora incident. Maybe less people would have seen it in theatres(which obviously didnt happen because the film made plenty of money) but it has zero effect on the criticism.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 11:52 AM) The Giants are MLB's version of the New England Patriots. All time great coach and GM duo (In NE they happen to be the same person). A couple great players (Bumgarner/Posey, Brady/Gronk) and a supporting cast stocked with good players. Annual contender. more like every other year contender

Didnt Gary Sheffield fire Boras because he cost him some money?
-
QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 09:06 AM) I didn't know Boers was retiring. Wow, when did they announce that one? hasnt been announced, but he has been hinting that he is just about done for a while now. Plus, he has been working from his home studio for a while, doesnt like to travel much anymore for work, and gets paid a lot. Its time, for both parties

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 08:05 AM) Tate vs Holm should be pretty great though too. Tate got smashed twice by Rousey. meh

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 07:41 AM) The White Sox according to Caulfield: They have no money, couldn't have possibly made money last year, yet they still would be cheap and stupid if they didn't spend more on guys like Latos and Parra and Desmond. Season tickets are approaching an all time low. The Sox missed the boat by not signing a free agent before the season tickets/Christmas present rush. Rick Hahn is unqualified until he can prove he received a varsity baseball letter at New Trier. He isn't posting anymore until KW and/or RV are gone. Cespedes would rather sign in Washington or Detroit because being on the White Sox hurts his marketability. If the White Sox want to sign a free agent, they will have to pay more than a small premium. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I can't turn my TV on without seen Bryce Harper on just about every commercial. Even if the Sox signed Cespedes, they are maybe the 3rd best team in the division, but probably still the worst. In other words, it's hopeless. Dont forget they should sign Desmond in June to play rightfield

Dos Anjos/McGregor is much more interesting than Holm/Tate
-
good lord, listening to Phil Rogers is painful. He was just on the score and was musing about Upton taking a 1 or 2 year deal, then transitioned to "the white sox hope that Avisail will develop into what Cespedes already is" why do people pay this man for baseball thoughts

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) Don't forget Anthony Collins Isn't Bradford a UFA? He is, I thought he was signed through 16

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 01:49 PM) Rumor has it they got approval from the administration to sell standing room tickets for the first time ever. After going to every home game during the 2008-2012 massacre it's really fun watching this team. Really fighting the urge to drive 5 hours for this one. This surprises me, I thought the game vs Indiana had standing room, there were a few Creighton games that were crazy sold out too

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) I don't get the Terminator 2 love. I mean, looking at the first three Terminator movies (I haven't seen any after that), the original is far and away the best, with T2 and T3 about the same and neither that great. Actually I feel like T3 was a better film than T2, though less exciting. Then again, I'm probably the only person here who thought Alien3 was a good movie (though not quite as good as the first two). I like to pretend any Alien films after 3 don't exist. Alien 4 was a studio meddling bastardization. The director removed his name from the film because he didnt want to be associated with it, he went on to do some good things. Some guy named Joss Whedon

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 12:00 PM) part 22 it must be said every day

i feel like something is going to happen today

there are like 2 callers that call the score every week suggesting Fox be fired for Gase, its just ridiculous.
-
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 07:52 AM) Doesn't make any sense. A Tampa writer was on the score earlier and was talking about how they knew that Koetter was going to be in demand and that they wanted to keep him around, and there were rumors that he was asked to change defensive coaches and he said no. To me it looks like Licht decided he wanted his own guy, which is ironic considering Lovie had a hand in Licht getting hired

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 06:59 AM) Pretty sure Tampa wants Gase for Winston They are talking about Koetter getting the job
