  1. QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 01:54 PM) Can't we all just get along? GO THROW KNUCKLEBALLS SOMEWHERE, CHUCK!
  2. lets not talk about Hudson, mmmk? The Sox rightfully cut bait on him
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 12:41 PM) Why... BECAUSE EVERYTHING CIRCLES BACK TO IT
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) 1) This isn't Hogan vs Warrior. A largely dead, mark crowd booed the handshake in one of the better reactions of the night. It was a terrible idea through and through. Reigns is about to headline Wrestlemania. He NEEDS to find a way to get himself over. If not Pittsburgh and New Jersey Might be a bloodbathe For him. 2) Maybe. He's not exactly known for his endurance so I don't know. 3) Yep. I do wonder if it'll be addressed. I highly, highly doubt it though. LMAO. Im sure the WWE is all about reviewing slow counts. They have a committee being formed as i type this to right this terrible wrong
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) btw, by this comment aren't you making the first snarky comment ??? sure, I will take credit for the first snarky comment.
  6. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 11:22 AM) if this disturbs you as you are implying, why then do you post??? there are many other threads to go to. who said i am disturbed? Confused, yes. But not disturbed You are talking in circles here man, you are mad at JR for something that happened between 15 and 25 years ago, it has nothing to do with the current team, your expectations of how the money should be spent and how much is available to spend are unrealistic. I dont know what to say, there is a lot going on in the last 5 pages or so

    2015 TV Thread

I think if you spliced together every fight and zombie kill in the Walking Dead into one continuous stream, jenks would think it was the greatest piece of cinema in the world
  8. QUOTE (shysocks @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 11:06 AM) *blocks this thread on browser* smart
  9. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) it is absolutely absurd to keep putting words in my mouth, i have never said spend 190. better yet, show me and others where i stated this..... come on, you are very quick to pass this judgement with a huge exaggeration, or will you disappear for a while knowing you were wrong?? you arent saying it explicitly, but you are hinting pretty strongly at it QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 22, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) and this offseason, the fans finally found out how much money JR and owners have to bank. the tv money imcome alone is 190 + mil a yr. the salary of the sox is 120+ mil a net profit of 60+ mil and the income from the fans, concessions, commercial leasing etc.... adds to that profit margin.
  10. QUOTE (brett05 @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 11:04 AM) Vegas does not say that the White Sox are a .500 team. That's not how sports betting works. brett, let me introduce to you greg.....
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 10:51 AM) Come on man, the reality is that this is a business. The owners aren't going to cash our "faithfulness" at the bank. plus, that blade cuts both ways. The Sox have been spending, spending a considerable amount over the past decade, and the fans have not really broken the turnstiles. You cant hold the 90s against JR and then pretend like the last decade didnt happen, especially after the past offseason. Its like saying "Oh yea they spent a crazy amount of money, but still not enough because you make a lot of money" QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 10:52 AM) he spends enuf to get the fans but not enuf to win it all. look at bos, ladodger and many teams making the investment to win it or to put them in position to win it. all i have been saying this off season is to make that one more investment in pitching. not to go hog wild and to spend. don't soft soap it as well by "we are going to get players in spring training" knowing full well it is minor leaguers who were not on the 40 man roster. i dont know what soft soap means and i dont think i want to know, but the Dodgers have spent an insane amount of money the past 3 seasons, and they have zip, zero to show for it. Only one team wins every season, and last season both teams in the World Series werent really overspending the competition
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 09:21 AM) Signing Moncada gives the BoSox the flexibility to finally send that package of players over for Chris Sale. i forgot about that troll. lol I wonder what player he is guaranteeing next
  13. In CC's defense, he was pretty awful as a skinny pitcher
  14. Nice to see Travolta topped his embarrassing misspeak from last year with an even more awkward moment with Menzel, lol
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 07:06 AM) fans are always talking about getting this player or that player, that is part of being a fan. so with that how am i doing it differently?? being disappointed that the Sox didnt sign a player is a lot different from saying "The Sox will make 190 million dollars so they should spend it all, and Jerry is cheap/frugal because he didnt sign XXXXXXX player".
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 23, 2015 -> 06:50 AM) it wasn't just the signing of Beachy that got to me, it was prob the straw that broke the camels back so to speak. first, i have always stated that as an owner, he has the right to make money. but earlier in the offseason the FO was stating they didn't have money only enuf to spend xx amount to improve. then the FO said, they couldn't spend without the fans supporting them and spending money to help spend on FA's. then someone found the TV money deal on, i don't know, maybe forbes. the bottom line, is this team to sooo close to doing something that has happen once in the last 10 yrs. i look back at JR and his legacy is going to be 1 ws where several could have been done, b/c of being frugal, too frugal. the sox can make the playoff, this team is loaded, but there are holes. i am a fan and i been saying this team can make the playoff before many posters and some doubt it, that is ok, but i am not blind to know that there are holes. This is patently false
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 22, 2015 -> 11:19 PM) I can't believe this fight is happening over Brandon Beachy I just don't understand how Beachy can sign with the Dodgers and it becomes an indictment on Reinsdorf. I think that is terrible
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 22, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) and this offseason, the fans finally found out how much money JR and owners have to bank. the tv money imcome alone is 190 + mil a yr. the salary of the sox is 120+ mil a net profit of 60+ mil and the income from the fans, concessions, commercial leasing etc.... adds to that profit margin. the sox have several areas of concerns, 2 of Garcia and Eaton who are a health concern backup ---- Bonifacio Jose A, has to be healthy ---- backup LaRoche chris sale ---- backup ??? rodon and in a playoff race, how bout those innings oh i forgot how important another backup for that infield is so they went out and got beckham. how bout a backup for the catcher---- ??? the bench.. thompson, jb shuck those players really strike fear in the opposing pitchers. this team can really build something special and can keep it going. So, because you found out how much the sox really make, you get to tell them how to spend it and be angry with them and be angry at Jerry because he didn't sign people that you have determined they need?
  19. B.J. Upton will go by the name Melvin Upton Jr. this year. Upton will explain his reasoning when he reports to #Braves camp.
  20. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 22, 2015 -> 05:34 PM) this is the sox trying to save money, how much profit does the owners need. What does this even mean? Him not signing with the sox does not equal Reinsdorf being a penny pincher. The guy is coming off his second tommy john surgery
  21. Pop also doesn't give canned bulls*** answers. He gives no answers, at all. They ask a question and he ignores it
  22. If the Sox are in contention at the deadline and Shark is flipped for prospects, then something crazy is going on.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 20, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) As expected, his comments stole the headlines today. So we'll see if it was smart or not later. I don't see how in this day and age anybody anywhere is a shoo in for the playoffs because of the use/overuse of bullpens. I mean if our bullpen is trash, our team will be trash. Same with everybody, including KC. They are now banking on the same formula every night. They want to get to 7/8/9 inning guys every night. No law says those 3 have to be as effective as they were late last season/postseason. I personally would love if baseball/Sox brass would allow its starters to go seven full innings. It's a lot easier to navigate two innings than 3 or 4 IMO. If our closer is as good as expected, we'd be in great shape just getting through the eighth. I realize that is an impossibility; starters only go six nowadays or six and change. The Sox brass doesn't set inning limits on pitchers over the season, at least not how you are suggesting
  24. Why are you so goddamn frustrating to watch, Chicago Bulls?
