  1. Anyone still thinking Vazquez is our best pitcher?
  2. Crap at bat by Wise. BA could do the same.
  3. Best his off-speed stuff has looked in a while. What the hell does Ozzie tell these guys? Seriously, he talks to Contreras and Vazquez and they start getting outs after looking terrible.
  4. I am just glad that horrible start by Vazquez didn't set the tone for the rest of the game.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 03:06 PM) At least we're still in this game, and Javy seems to have found his release point. Gallagher has a very lively fastball, and reminds me some of Gil Meche. We should score some runs today but the last time our pitcher gave up 2 runs in the 1st inning and we were happy about him minimizing the damage the game was already over. So you never know...
  6. Ozzie bringing out the roll of toilet paper.
  7. Clock's about to strike midnight on Ryan Dempster's Cy Young season.
  8. Hahahaha. Nice! Now please no rain.
  9. Dempster's not getting those garbage outside strike calls he got last game.
  10. I hope it doesn't rain.
  11. Put the hammer down Thome!
  12. This is awesome. Carlos is officially locked in again.
  13. This team is painful to watch hit. Unless they're already up by 5 or 6 runs. Then it's time to hit.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 04:16 PM) Is he on pace to reach his option requirement? He needs 392 more PAs. Not gonna happen.
  15. I am curious who you guys think will be the better pitcher long-term: Floyd or Danks? I've kind of been thinking it would be Floyd but I get the sense most people would take Danks.

  17. Was reading Mark Gonzalez's answers on the Trib site and found someone referencing a Pirates blog. The guy who posts on this Pirates blog is some sort of scout (supposedly), although I don't know that for sure. Anyway, point is he the guy thought Vazquez was tipping his pitches while in the stretch. Here's an excerpt: http://pittsburghpirates.buccoblog.com/emb...ss-as-expected/
  18. BTW, can we please put a pre-emptive stop to any Cy Young-ification of Kershaw if he shuts us down tomorrow. The guy is a highly touted prospect but he can be hit (4.34 ERA, 1.55 WHIP). Pathetic ass Cleveland scored 4 runs in 5 innings against him last start. Tomorrow's lineup should be: OC Alexei Q Dye Swish Crede Hall Wise P
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 10:28 PM) 2nd time in two games that the game was theoretically over after the 3rd batter of the game for the opposition. Yup. I don't really understand why people get so upset at suggestions that the game is over early? This is a terrible hitting team. Greg Walker should be fired.
  20. Holy s***, has Brian Roberts been hot lately.
  21. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 10:46 PM) Easy. Because both of those teams are in our league....and at one point we may possibly be competing against them for a wildcard spot. (Even though we are not this year.) Beating teams in the same league will have a more direct impact on the pennant race than playing the Nationals, Astros, Reds etc. I am talking about this year though. You are always going to play a number of meaningless games every year.
