  1. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 12:16 PM) According to some, after the last five games, the season is over. Forget about this game. Don't even waste your time. Everything looking great so far.
  2. I think last night was just one of those games, right? And given what happened against a s*** Rockies pitcher, maybe the debacle in Detroit wasn't all due to the great Tigers pitching like some people here tried to argue? But people will jump down your throat when you dare suggest the Sox are "back to normal." Because, god knows, a team getting hot for a couple games is a much better indicator of their hitting ability than the previous 2 months of the season.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 13, 2008 -> 01:07 PM) Um, versus lefties over the past 3 years, Lofton has put up a dominant .246/.301/.290/.591 line. Jerry Owens is more useful against lefties than Lofton. Against Righties, Lofton put up a solid .321/.386/.436/.822 I meant righties. I don't know why I wrote lefties.
  4. It is pretty simple what would happen. Lofton would play LF/CF against lefties and one of Q/Swisher/Dye/Konerko/Thome would be given a day off. I think there's plenty of ABs for him.

  6. On the bright side, and I would have never believed this until checking, Buehrle now has more QS than either Vazquez or Contreras.
  7. The Sox are the worst good team in baseball.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) Irrelevant - Verlander is a legit ace, and when he struggles, you shouldn't expect it to continue. He obviously had a different game plan against us this time, he stuck to it, and it worked (as evidenced by all the popups). Sorry, you lost me at irrelevant.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 01:40 PM) Verlander is not a horrible pitcher. Only against us usually. What was his ERA and WHIP coming into the game? He's been having a really bad season.
  10. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 01:22 PM) ozzie blew game 1....game 2 we just lost, thats gonna happen...and game 3 coulda gone either way....its a frustrating series, but for going on the road against a good team (i dont give a s*** what their record is, they are still a solid team) we coulda walked away with 2/3...frustrating to not come away with at least 1, but we didnt play as poorly as a sweep may suggest Robertson, Verlander, and Rogers have been terrible. I don't want to hear how Detroit is a solid team because they have horrible pitching. We couldn't do s*** against them. We played that poorly.
  11. I guess it's just "one of those series."
  12. Hey guys, it's Ok, just "one of those games." It's all good.
  13. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) Pop out to short.........sigh.........second time today for Dye The pop outs on the infield have made a dramatic appearance the last couple of days. Yeah, everything is back to normal.
  14. I guess this is another "one of those games", huh? I don't think you can call Vazquez our best pitcher anymore. He's giving up too many baserunners to be considered an ace. Statistically he's more like 2006 Vazquez than 2007 Vazquez right now. In fact, other than the K/BB ratio, the rest of his numbers look worse than 2006. This has been an incredibly horrible series.
  15. It's too bad because looking at the matchups, this should have been the easiest game of the series.
  16. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) nobodys worried...but people have a right to be upset over games against division rivals that are given away....of course we arent going to win every game, but it would be nice to only lose the games in which the opposition outplayed us and that our manager didnt cost us at least 2, but probably closer to 4 runs I agree with this but I don't think it's our manager's fault that we lost today. The guy who had been our ace to start the season just did not show up at all today.
  17. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) You're right, it's the beginning of the end for this team. Enjoy it. Yeah, that's exactly what I said. Thanks for reading.
  18. Personally I am having trouble writing this game off as "one of those games" when it's our best pitcher (and one of the best in the AL) against their worst pitcher (and one of the worst in the AL).
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 08:02 PM) certainly not...and realistically if ozzie made the obvious managing decisions jose would have had 6 IP and 3 ER...a QS thank you leyland You are assuming he would have gotten the next guy out. Not a good assumption with a guy who have up 13 hits in 6IP.
  20. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 07:46 PM) Such a ray of sunshine after a 7 game win streak. You are right, but hey, 7 games doesn't erase 2 months worth of pitiful hitting in my eyes.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 07:42 PM) Sox just have to find a way to win one game this series. A sweep could potentially turn the Tigers season around. Anything less than 2 out of 3 is awful considering the pitching matchups.
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 07:41 PM) one of ozzies worst games as the white sox manager IMO....oh well i mean we werent gonna win the rest of the games this year...i just really think ozzies/the teams decisions have cost us runs on both sides of the ball tonight that would have kept us in this game Contreras was really bad though. They would have gotten to him.
  23. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 10, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) i will be rather upset if jose goes out for the 7th Does it really matter at this point? I think we'll end up going down quietly these last 3 innings.
