QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) Bah, leadoff man on. Run would hurt very bad, assuming we go with the solo homer attack in the 9th. Typically that has been the strategy this year whenever we are down a run..... :headshake CWSOX45

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 28, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) I would splooge all over myself if KW managed to swing a deal for Lidge. Ross.Effing.Gload (i.e. Mr. Waste Of A Roster Spot). He of 16 games played and 22 at bats. Mackowiak can play 1B if needed. I'd have no problem with that move. Especially now that his trade value has diminished. I bet Cooper could fix him. CWSOX45

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 28, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) If the big guy doesn't start the 9th...anger will be present in this thread. As well it should be...

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 28, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) Uribe first pitch swinging. Profundo Well at least he didnt swing has hard as he could three times and corkscrew himself into the ground. I swear to god, if you put the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes in a White Sox uniform you have Juan Uribe...

QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 28, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) So you want to move Garland into the pen? Talk about a great deal for Garland. Making all that money to pitch a couple innings a week. You have a better idea? The guy has ZERO confidence. He even said so himself. If you have a guy that is doubting his own self ability, he's the last thing we need out on that mound. I'm tired of watching him go out there and give up 3 homeruns a game. He's pissed away the lead so many times, I'm getting sick of it. Usually I am a diehard Garland supporter, but I've seen him s*** the bed too many times. Something needs to be done.

I'm really ready to see McCarthy as our 5th starter.....but then that leaves a hole in the pen. Kenny, you need to get us another RELIABLE reliever. CWSOX45
-
Well we're paying Garland waaaaayyy too much to be a 5th starter.... CWSOX45

I thought Crede's was Move Along by the All-American Rejects? Not 100% sure on that though. CWSOX45

For the pen I'd like Kenny to take a look at these guys: (Don't bust my balls on some of these, I am unaware of these guys contract situations, no trade clause etc, I'm just throwing some names out there.) Chris Ray. (Only been in the league two years, but has a career 2.55 era. Would be a nice righty for our pen.) Rafael Soriano-(might be hard to pry him from the Mariners, but I really like his stuff, teammate George Sherrill would be another option if Ozzie wants another lefty) Jon Rauch-(Yes, the same exact Jon Rauch that we traded to Montreal. In 28 innings has posted a 1.93 era, while compiling 26 K's compared to only 11 walks. Another possibly target on the Nationals would be former Sox prospect Gary Majewski) Mike Gonzalez (a pretty good lefty in Pittsburgh).

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 28, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) There is no reason for trading away talent and acquiring a contract for around $16 million just for a .100 point increase in batting average. Wilson is the one of Pittsburgh's only "stars" (how sad is that?) He's as much as an option as Derrek Jeter IMO. Right now as much as I hate to say it, Wilson is better than Uribe, hell Pedro Lopez may be better than Uribe right now. If this trend continues I wouldn't mind acquiring Wilson, BUT I'd rather see another arm in the bullpen, and a centerfielder. Once those two areas are addressed, I wouldn't mind taking a look at the shortstop position. I honestly feel the bullpen and centerfield positions should be are main concern right now. CWSOX45

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 28, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Coming into this season career: .263/.304/.372. With the decent year (for him) he is currently having, it's pushed up to .265/.306/.372 Uribe coming into this season: .262/.305/.432. Damn close to Wilson except for 60 more points in Slg. How is Wilson better again? With his woeful performance so far this year, Uribe is down to .258/.301/.424 Wilson sucks Good point....but the name of the game is what have you done for me lately? Lately Jack Wilson is far superior, hitting .299 with 5 homeruns and 17 rbi's, compared to Uribe's .199. I hate to say it, but if Juan keeps hitting this way, I'm all for acquiring someone for him, Wilson or someone else.

QUOTE(chisoxt @ May 27, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) Nelson had more zip on fast ball than he does now. He is finished. Yes, we did strand a lot of baserunners today, but note the disturbing trend of late of bullpen collapses in tight games on the road. Sometimes, your bullpen just has to hold the other team down, regardless of how many runners you strand on base. Look, our bullpen did a pretty good job holding them until the 11th. If you think that our bullpen is going to be like it was last year......it's not. We were spoiled last year. Politte and Hermanson had career years last year, and maybe even Cotts. I'm not ready to give up on Nelson yet, because I don't think there is anyone in AAA that is THAT much better. CWSOX45
-
So he gave up a homerun, big deal. I'm not ready to give up on him yet, his slider still looks really good. I really don't think Javier Lopez would do much better. Would you guys rather have Boone Logan back? Jeff Nelson is not to blame for the loss today, you can blame stranding 13 baserunners. This game should have been decided in 9 innings. We're going to have to go with what we have until Kenny gets us help....

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) What is this, old White Sox relievers day? Yeah, Karchner is pitching the 9th.
-
God dammit I hate Howry, Light his ass up Paulie. CWSOX45
-
I'd like ot see how we do against Dempster in the 9th......maybe he'll pitch similar to how he pitched against the Padres earlier last week.
-
I would love nothing more than to crush these two former pieces of trash that the Sox had.... Please guys....do it for Jose!
-
I really can't blame Cotts, he induced the routine double play ball that Uribe makes usually with no problem. It's too bad that Cotts couldn't pitch around the mistake though. UGHH Frustrating. I still think we can get to this team, let's come back and win 7-6, that would just be crushing to the Cubs. CWSOX45
-
This is what happens when you don't make the play. If we lose this game, it falls all on the shoulders of Uribe. CWSOX45

Hawk is bashing Mariotti....awesome.

Zambrano is a huge headcase. Someone just needs to beat his ass.

What did that pig Zambrano do? This is bulls***. I'm sick of these punks.

QUOTE(zenryan @ May 18, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) this thread is dumb So if it's dumb why take the time to bump it back to the top? Thanks for contributing.

Thought I'd post this before everyone decides to go insane about being in second place... It's May 18th. That is all.
