  1. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 07:51 PM) Fine, give him time. Just not on the Major league roster. Send him down to AAA for a month and let him work out his problems. Sure, he has TONS of potential; the game against the Mariners' King (AKA Felix Hernandez) was a show; he doesn't belong on the MLB roster at this point in time. Also, it would be a different situation if he were atleast hitting the ball and getting out all the time, but he has tons of K's. He has nothing left to prove in AAA, and who do we replace him with on our roster? You really think Jerry Owens or Ryan Sweeney are more MLB ready than Anderson? I think not. I sure as hell don't feel comfortable with Mackowiak everyday out their in center. Anderson is here to stay. CWSOX45
  2. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) Yes, as I said before, the idea of trading for Griffey was a joke. We CAN'T wait till July to make a decision. He hasn't shown me ANYTHING in his two trips to the majors that he can do anything at the plate. Again, Jermaine Dye is a proven MLB hitter, Brian Anderson isn't. Plain and simple. If the Sox had that same mentality you possess, that means that all of the young players came up through our system would be long gone. That means we wouldn't have Robin Ventura who started off terribly as a rookie, along with guys like Crede, Garland, Cotts and plenty of others who struggled as rookies. You have to give you guys like Anderson time. It's too early to give up on him.
  3. What the hell do you guys expect Anderson to do? He's a rookie. I expected him to struggle A LOT his rookie season, with a lot of strike outs. Not many rookies come up and automatically adjust to major league pitching. He has a lot of potential but you have got to be patient with him. Give the kid some time, jesus christ. CWSOX45
  4. Garland has two bad outings, and some of you want him traded... :headshake It's April people. CWSOX45
  5. Now here's the question, do we get a hit this inning with the trio of Mackowiak, Cintron and Pods? :banghead CWSOX45
  6. Come on Pods, work the count, just put the ball in play. Get out of your slump. CWSOX45
  7. Sisco has a tendency to be wild, the Sox MUST be patient. CWSOX45
  8. So far we have seen some pretty sloppy baseball in the first 4 games of the season, yet some people here are acting that instead of being 1-3, we are actually 1-33. Granted I know I don't post here often considering I'm so busy at school and with work, but this is one thing that all you naysayers need to be aware of. There are 162 games in a baseball season, so far we have played a whopping total of 4. So by the numbers we've played 4 games out of 162, which means we have played a total of 2.4% of our season schedule.....I want everyone to keep that in mind IF we do we happen to lose today. Sure we should have won that game last night it hurt, but in no way or form am I worried. If we are under .500 after playing 20 games, then I'm going to start getting concerned. Ozzie is still trying to figure out his bullpen situation, it's going to take some time for him to get a grasp on when to use guys in certain situations. Until then, just ride it out, and eventually things will be fine. CWSOX45
  9. I just got back from class, are our batters just swinging at bad pitches again, or is Cliff Lee actually pitching well? Seems like Contreras has settled down. We need to score some runs, jesus.
  10. in my draft this year I relied heavily on pitching, after drafting Johan, Rich Harden, Zach Duke, Francisco Liriano, Jarrod Washburn, Javy Vazquez and Shawn Chacon I have plenty of starting pitchers. I made an offer of Zach Duke to a guy for Joe Blanton and Hideki Matsui, he declined and insisted on me either giving up Hermida or Ryan Zimmerman. This deal is a no brainer and I'm going to do it, but I don't know which player to give up. I really like both of them, I'm leaning towards Hermida right now because I hear Zimmerman could be this years version of David Wright. So who do i cut loose? Zimmerman or Hermida?
  11. I am a little concerned with our bullpen situation, however I think these young guys will answer when the bell rings. Granted I haven't been able to watch many spring training games since I go to school in New Jersey, but I think it is save to say the only two pitchers in our pen that I have 100% confidence are Neal Cotts and Cliff Politte. I think Jenks will be fine once the season starts along with McCarthy, but I have my concerns with Thornton due to his control issues, and I haven't even seen Boone Logan pitch but have heard great things about him. However when you look back at our team last year, there were plenty of question marks. No one expected Hermanson, Politte, Cotts and Vizcaino to pitch like they did last year, and if you say that you did last march you're lying to yourself. Hopefully Thornton and Logan can get their acts together and prove they belong in our bullpen.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) 30 posts in and no Queen mention? Sad. what did you have in mind? Fat bottomed girls? At least the fat part is correct.
  13. I can't believe this is an actual poll, after all this man has done for the White Sox in the early 90's and beyond...of course he deserves a standing ovation. CWSOX45
  14. Nothing will ever come close to the terrific thrill we all had last year. The main difference between this year and last year is that we are no longer a dark horse. I for one did not expect to win the World Series in 2005, last year was definatly the best year of my life, but this year we are not under the radar. We are the team to beat when Opening Day comes around. Basically the expectations are higher this year because we expect to win now. I expect to go to the playoffs, I expect to win the ALCS, and I expect to win the World Series again. Anything less will be a disappointment. CWSOX45
  15. I like this move, between Munoz, Lopez, and Almanza one of those guys should give us the innings we need from our second lefty. CWSOX45
  16. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) Would he be good enough to be the second lefty in the pen in 06? As of right now, it looks like he will be. CWSOX45
  17. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) The problem with trading uribe in this is uribe could be used as the new #2 hitter in the lineup so tadahito can move down. I'm not stating that uribe hitting behind pods is a sure thing, but i have heard that idea floated around. I also have heard the same thing, and I actually don't want Juan traded. Juan Uribe works his ass off, and plays hard every day. I will be devastated to see Juan go, the last two plays of the World Series are only a small fraction of all the outstanding plays Juan has made this year due to his heart and hustle. Juan Uribe is a poor man's Miguel Tejada, and my main concern is keeping our rotation together. I'm satisfied with what we have now, and I think only minor tweaking is needed. CWSOX45
  18. QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) This may be true, but with all due respect, Bruce Levine "is in no position" to have any freakin clue what KW will do next. Even if Levine has heard this directly from KW's kidney stone, it may be to get his nose out of it and stay under the radar. I'm not saying anything is gonna happen, I just am not gonna take Levine's word for it. DING DING DING!! We have a winner! Wasn't Bruce Levine reporting that he was positive that Jon Garland would be traded before spring training? Levine doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, whenever I hear him report something it goes in one ear and out the other. As for acquiring Tejada for the White Sox, forget it. We have Thome/Konerko/Dye and I think Joe Crede is finally going to put up some real solid numbers this year. We have plenty of power. Get us another arm for the pen, a bat off the bench and we're set. CWSOX45
  19. Correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't Juan Uribe's agent Scott Boras? Or wasn't it Scott Boras when we signed him to that new contract? I'm pretty sure I read it in a Sun-Times Article last year. Boras can be dealt with, I'm sure Kenny knows this, if the price is outrageous then I have no problem moving Crede. CWSOX45
  20. QUOTE(Traveler1776 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) In response to CWSOX45, we are not yet in the playoffs due to today's win. Only one scenario exists where the Sox could fail to make the postseason. This is what would have to happen: Sox lose remaining 4 games. CLE wins remaining 4 games. BOS wins tomorrow and takes 2 of 3 from NYY. NYY wins tomorrow and wins 1 of 3 from BOS. In that scneario, CLE would win the Central at 96-66 and BOS, NYY and the Sox would finish with identical 95-67 records. NYY and BOS would play for the AL East title and the loser would play the Sox for the Wild Card. If the Sox lost to the loser of the NYY-BOS title game, they could fail to make the playoffs. This is all moot, b/c the Sox will win tomorrow. That would result in us tied with Boston and New York at 95-67 correct? So we would have to have one game playoffs. Just win today baby. CWSOX45
