    PTBNL

The PTBNL does not have to be a minor leaguer, since the Sox and Brewers are in opposite leagues. Spivey would be great, but I'm 99% sure he's not going to be apart of that deal. If the PTBNL happens to be a major league player I wouldn't expect more than Gary Glover.
  2. Garland does not have the ability to win 20 games. To win 20 games you have to be consistent, and he's never shown the ability to do so in his entire career. He's got decent stuff, but doesn't have what it takes between the ears. If the RJ trade still might go through, the Sox should jump at the chance to give away Garland for either RJ or Vasquez, just so long as they don't give up too much else.
  3. Buerhle - 18 Garcia - 17 Hernandez - 12 Contreras - 12 Garland - 11
  4. You're not really losing that much defense by giving up Everett, Marte, Anderson and Garland. Your lineup still looks solid, especially if you sign Eckstein: Johnson Garcia Buerhle Contreras Hernandez Takatsu Vizcaino Hermanson Politte Cotts Adkins Podsednik Eckstein Rowand Thomas Konerko Dye Uribe Crede Davis Harris Burke Perez Gload Escobar
  5. Are you kidding me??? Third place with the rotation of Randy Johnson, Freddy Garcia, Mark Buerhle, Jose Contreras, and Orlando Hernandez? Tell me how would Borchard get playing time?
  6. He said that was the lineup he wanted, not what it would be.
  7. With the signing of El Duque, I still think that its a strong possibility that KW could make another run at Randy Johnson. He's signed a fifth starter, so Garland becomes expendable. Garland, Everett, Marte and Anderson for RJ anyone?
  8. Wow, Anthrax actually said something mildly intelligent!
  9. I'll say 6-1 that we sign AJ and 12-1 that we sign Odalis.
  10. Both Diaz and Grilli have good stuff, and if they learn how to pitch, could become successful at the major league level. It would help if the Sox had a decent pitching coach that could should these youngsters a thing or two.
  11. Pitching > Hitting Gonzalez has yet to prove anything on the major league level, and his minor league stats don't impress me all that much. Garland is gutless, but we need him.
  12. Grilli hasn't earned s***. Hermanson is more reliable in the 5th starter role, although I'd rather see Honey Weis start the season as number 5.
  13. This is from last season Sounds like consistent arm problems to me. I don't know exactally how many times he's been on the DL, but bottom line, is your going to have to give up something that you know you got, for something you have no idea of what you're going to get.
  14. Some people are just whiny b****es. If he caused problems every year with the fish, what makes you think he won't cause problems here? A me first attitude generally never leaves a player.
  15. Here's how many innings he's pitched each year over his major league career: 41.1, 82.2, 173.1, 204.1, 23, 120.
  16. Anthrax has diarrhea of the mouth.
  17. Then we'll have two problems and not just one.
  18. He's a clubhouse cancer and a walking injury-waiting-to-happen. He's not worth the risk of giving up what we would have to give up just to watch this kid sit out most of the season.
  19. I think it could turn out ok. The Sox could sign El Duque, Cairo, and Pierz for the around the same amount of money they would have spent on Clement. But most of you wouldn't be happy with that, so I guess it's still going to be ugly to you.
  20. You feel the same way that many of us do about RJ. RJ-Garcia-Buerhle in the playoffs crushes all.
  21. Articles have never directly clashed before?
