    Matheny

The only problem that I see with Matheny is that he doesn't really know anything about AL hitters. Calling games has alot to do with being familiar with who's at the plate.
  2. Didn't Bonds* say something along the lines that he wanted to beat Ruth, solely because he wanted two black men on the top of the list?
  3. I know you'll all stone me for saying this, but Stone for GM in 06
  4. Career Numbers Harris - 240 AVG - 343 OBP - Approx 23 Steals a season Castillo - 292 AVG - 368 OBP - Approx 43 Steals a season Castillo can also hit lefties whereas Harris can't
  5. Best fans in baseball? I'd have to give that to my fellow posters here at soxtalk.com GO WHITE SOX
  6. Last year he hit sub-250, I think you're referring to 2003. I think the Brew Crew would be willing to give him up if they're getting a fair deal.
  7. You said that KW overpays for players, yet you keep repeating yourself that he should sign Orlando Cabrera. You also said in another post that you can't even compare David Dellucci and Cabrera, and I showed you numbers proving that Dellucci's are slightly better. Now, if you don't want KW to overpay for someone, why do you want him to sign Cabrera so badly?
  8. Didn't Buerhle try to throw that pitch in a game last year?
  9. You're still not getting the point.
  10. We're not talking about the order in which shortstops lie in the Free Agent market, we're talking about overpaying for talent. And paying $6 million a year for Cabrera is a joke, I'd rather stick with Uribe.
  11. Career Numbers Dellucci - .261 AVG - .339 OBP - .418 SLG - .757 OPS Cabrera - .268 - .316 - .409 - .725
  12. Just like if he were to sign Orlando Cabrera
  13. Bradley doesn't have to be a bad influence on the team if the team is a positive influence on him. I've posted it before, and I'll post it again, strong black leadership (Thomas, Everett, Baines) could keep him in line. I strongly believe he's worth taking a chance on, especially if LA is adamant to get rid of him.
  14. Petco park is no good for left-handed power hitters so it's no suprise his power numbers decreased. I had no idea that he was averse to returning to left field, and if that's the case, there really is no place to put him. Ramon Hernandez is sick, but I don't see them giving him up.
  15. Carlos Lee for Klesko and Burroughs, sign me up! I don't really see it happening considering the Pads only save about $100,000 in that deal.
  16. Haha, I hear ya, but it's hard to set goals higher when there's so many holes to fill. Personally I'd rather sign El Duque, and a couple of quality bullpen guys rather than go for Clement, Wright, or Perez and have little leeway as far as signing someone else.
  17. Duque only made $500,000 last year, he's 35 and at the end of his rope, I don't see him making any more than $2-3 mil a year at two years max. I could see Clement and Perez looking for the same amount of dough that Wright is looking for $5-7 mil a year.
  18. I've always liked Dellucci, outstanding character and the Godfather theme plays when he comes to the plate. He might see his numbers improve when starting full time, but I wouldn't be willing to bet on it. I'd rather see Everett start than Dellucci, but he would be an awesome bench player.
  19. Odalis Perez is ahead of Clement because he's a lefty and younger. And what's wrong with El Duque? He's old, but he would provide an excellent fifth starter for very cheap.
  20. Career Numbers Dellucci - .261 AVG - .339 OBP - .418 SLG - .757 OPS Cabrera - .268 - .316 - .409 - .725
  21. You've gotta be able to get on base before you can steal 'em
  22. Instead, he needs to wait til near the end of the auction and get a better deal.
