  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 29, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) Neither, forget Crawford. Next question. at least someone has some common sense. why would the drays trade their best position player unless they are completely overwhelmed?
  2. http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/sports/baseball/15968702.htm Ron Washington has only been the Rangers manager since Monday, but he is already making Texas a potentially choice destination for free agents. It will take money to get any deals done, but prize free-agent pitcher Barry Zito has placed the Rangers on his short list as a result of Washington's hire. Over lunch Wednesday, Washington said: "Barry Zito called me yesterday. He wants to make a visit here. Texas wasn't on his list, but it is now." Washington also said former A's outfielder Jermaine Dye called with the same message. Dye, however, will not be a free agent until next year, as the Chicago White Sox already picked up his option for 2007.
  3. "nyea panrovilsa" translate
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) Your 100% right Watchtower. MVP didnt ever touch those sort of graphics. It was also never made for 360...... Im sure 2k "wont touch" MVP's game engine. It was the best baseball engine ever. EVER. RBI Baseball > MVP Baseball
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) Wow, so if he is outrighted, that means he lost his spot on the 40 man roster too, right? i believe he has no more options left, so his career with the white sox organization is pretty much done
  6. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) This is actually more discouraging news about Lance Broadway than encouraging news about Joe Borchard. is it that discouraging to see a guy in his first pro spring training get a home run hit off him by a guy who's been in the big leagues? not that big of a deal folks
  7. 270 average is horrible for a highschool position player.
  8. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) I hate ricky Williams. Terrible guy, either quit and do the weed, or play the dam game :|. Dont do it like he does. Go back to playing a game you don't really have the heart for, or pay back $8 million. Seems like a pretty easy choice to make. Now Ricky doesn't have to play or give his money back. Seems like he did the right thing to me.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) If Ricky Williams wasn't a famous NFL player with gobs of money...do you think he would have as easy of a time not being caught? i'm not a celebrity. i have smoked pot with regularity for five years and i've never been caught. why should the nfl care if its players are taking non-performance enhancing drugs?
  10. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Thanks to the internet, you at least know that you are smarter than someone. and dumber than someone
  11. probably his brother, since carlos lee is also listed under the brewers
  12. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 14, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) Im in favor of keeping the status quo. Im absolutely positive the founders had this very same debate when the Constitution was being drawn up and theres a very good reason why things are the way they are. We get rid of the electoral college then the views of the small states become irrelevant as candidates focus on Cali, NY, TX, IL, OH and Florida. the reason the electoral college was formed was because our leaders felt that citizens weren't informed enough to make a proper decision. Todays voters are much better informed (although both parties spew propoganda come election time). People feel that there is no need to vote; in California or Illinois democrats are going to win the electoral vote no matter what. If the format was changed to a popular vote, the voter turnout would increase dramatically.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) They aren't overpaid. They just accept what they get offered. I absolutely despise the idea that some people get jealous because athletes make so much money. Its a billion dollar industyr (the sports industry) and the key players are going to make big bucks. Why the hell shouldn't they? mcdonalds is a billion dollar industry and their people make 6.75 an hour
  14. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) I don't mind getting him, but I'm not going to overpay for him. Garland + Crede for Blalock, Wilkerson, and Danks or Diamond is overpaying. Wilkerson is not needed and I'm sure Mackowiak could do as good of a job as him given full-time duties and our OF is already filled. Danks and Diamond haven't proven they could be front end pitchers in AA yet, much less the majors. IMO this is not overpaying. Players like Blalock don't come available for trade too often. He will be a cornerstone of the franchise and provide our offense with another potent weapon. Face it, Crede's a class guy and a great defender, but he's not Blalock. We're not going to be able to keep Garland beyond this year, and it's best we ship him now rather than wait until midseason and either get stuck with him or get less in return. We need a fourth outfielder, Wilkerson is a much better option than the likes of Borchard. Getting Danks would not only give us a prospect with awesome stuff, but give us leverage in signing his brother after the college season is over.
  15. Why would Baltimore trade their leader who happens to be one of the elite position players in the game? I can forsee Baltimore making a trade with us for Garland, but I don't see Tejada being involved.
  16. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) Well, if KW ends up giving up Garland and Young for Vazquez the deal would be horrible regardless of "cost certainty." If there is any validation to the rumors that Garland might be traded, the entire league would be making offers to get their hands on him. He's probably the best pitcher available via trade in a thin free agent market. Why would Kenny accept a Vazquez for Garland AND Young when he could get a much better deal elsewhere. I feel a package like Garland and Young could snag the equivalent of Vazquez, Tracy, and a prospect.
  17. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) You show me without a shadow of a doubt where US Congressmen were bought off to cover up something that might have happened there then you have something. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA congressmen cover something up, laughable. congressmen involved in scandal, laughable. do you really believe all the bulls*** propoganda you are fed?
  18. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) That should be green, right? Or is this a part of his joke or something? no, he didnt get burnt from freebasing cocaine. he tried to kill himself by lighting himself on fire June 8, 1980
  19. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 07:38 AM) He was free basing cocaine. that was a rumor, you're terribly mistaken
  20. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) I wasn't gonna say it but you did. When I read about that incident I laughed my ass off. I don't understand why this is funny: a man has a nervous breakdown and tries to burn himself to death
  21. QUOTE(juddling @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) ...and let's not forget that performance in Superman III..what a flick!!!!! classy
  22. We have right-handers that are better than Rincon against lefties.
  23. QUOTE(Randar68 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) Liefer???? LOL! That guy was marginal from day 1. Wells crapped his pants regularly in the majors prior to being traded. At one time some considered Wells and Rauch as "Can't Miss", but Liefer was never in that picture. On that entire list, when they were actually traded, only really Reed and Cameron were considered "Can't Miss". Liefer was supposed to be a 30 + home run hitter.
  24. Does anyone else see Texas throwing a bunch of money at Clemens?
