  1. Those damn sign stealers.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) Arow has had no protection this year at all. Well at least Willie is protecting him today. He should see some great pitches.
  3. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) Remember before the season started when KW told everyone he would hold back some cash until the trade deadline. Wonder what will happen with that cash.......... He used it to have his boating injuries worked on.
  4. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) There is nothing wrong with cheating (or gaining any kind of advantage) if it leads to a W. Just ask Raffy Palmeiro.
  5. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) What's going to happen in the first two weeks of September when the tribe plays Minny 6 times and Oakland 3, while the Sox are playing KC 6 times and LA 3? So there is no chance that KC or Anaheim can beat us? We lost 2 of 3 at KC last time we played them. The king of pessimism has spoken
  6. Hey, we need to keep our guys fresh for the postseason (which may never come).
  7. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) That will be right around Labor Day, unfortunately. You could be right. This team is playing with no swagger whatsoever. Seems like a completely different team than the one we watched before the All Star Break.
  8. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) Today is huge for us. We need to put a bad team like the Rangers away. Our game 2 lineup will be so pathetic I'm afraid to see it. You can guarantee Timo, Willie, Widger, Carl in the OF, Blum, Ozuna. Rowand and Konerko might be the only ones that play both games. So since we will be sitting all these guys tonight, does that mean we get the same s***ty Sunday lineup tomorrow afternoon? I'm scared to see how many times we see the sunday lineup in the next week or so. At least once today, probably tomorrow, the upcoming sunday game and of course monday 's 1 day road trip.
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) The pitching we will be facing is a joke and our hitters should be able to hit today. That's what I was thinking last night and we had 1 hit through 5 innings.
  10. Any word on when single game playoff tickets go on sale?
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) In the last 66 innings Mark has given up 46 runs.. 33 earned. Instead of playing Dick Tracey... maybe work on giving up less hits.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 09:15 AM) And Timo is? I do. It's just so frustrating when Ozzie is obviously playing favorites.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 08:49 AM) Also, it's not like he was tearing the cover off the ball when he was with the Sox THIS season. And Timo is?
  14. Since I am actually here in Texas for the week I thought I should comment on the matchups in today's doubleheader. Let me make this clear....it is VERY hot in Texas right now. So why is Garland getting the day game when it will be around 97 or 98 degrees while he is pitching? I feel that he should be pitching the night game when it cools down a bit. Why would Ozzie want his stud to labor in the intense heat and sun? Hasn't Jon earned the right to get the favorable start time? In my opinion you bring up the youngster to chew up the less desirable innings since he hasn't earned anything yet. Just my 2 cents. Hopefully both Jon and Bmac both walk away with a victory.
  15. I was at the game last night. Not much to get excited about. Baj looked good. I left after the 8th since I had an hour drive back to the small town I am working in. Defense looked awful, Mark didn't look too sharp and the offense was flat once again. I think we had 1 hit through 5 innings. Needless to say a disappointing game. Was nice to hear the bats come alive in the 9th. Too little too late though. BTW - The park is beautiful. If you ever get a chance to see a game there, go for it. I can post a couple pics when I get back home to Chicago. Oh yeah...it was cool to see quite a few Sox fans in attendance.
  16. sec 105 row 13 6-7-8 Going with a couple WSI buddies.
  17. My first game at Ameriquest Field. Would like to see us set the tone for the series with a nice win today.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) I think we tag the s*** out of seattle for the whole series and our pitching really steps up and keeps shutting teams down. I hope you're right. When are lineups typically announced? Hour or two b4 the game?
  19. QUOTE(downstairs @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) If we can add 3-5 games to our lead, we're in line to clinch against Cleveland during our next home series with them... I was just talking to some friends about possible clinch dates. Although it would be nice to get it that early my guess would be the Twins home series right after that.
  20. Maybe this is Paulie's way of getting the bandwagon people to stay home. The team seems to play better when the park is half full.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Timo, more then not he delivers. He delivers more often than not? That would mean he is hitting over .500 in situations where he needs to deliver. I don't think that is actually the case.
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) wow, excellent first post, great info. welcome LOL! I just remembered my first post and how stupid I sounded. It was during that game vs Colorado where Ozuna was making a ton of mistakes. Now you know why I am the king of pessimism: f*** you Ozuna! You should retire from the game mid-game. Note to Admin/Moderator: This is a copy and paste of somehting that was posted a few months ago. I do not wish ill will towards any Sox player these days.
  23. I know one guy doesn't make a team but when Scottie is healthy he is the catalyst to the offense. When he gets on base he disrupts the pitcher's concentration. He also seems to make Iguchi better. Is it just coincidence that Iguchi has somewhat struggled lately? Another thing Scottie is good at is making the pitcher throw some pitches. I know he strikes out a little too much but I'd rather have the pitcher throw 6 or 7 pitches to Scottie than have Timo swing at the first pitch most of the time.
  24. Damn. It's a shame we couldn't snag Randa. Apparently we were in 2nd place in that derby.
  25. QUOTE(GoSoxGo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) If Crede does have a broken finger, we may need a 3rd baseman. Isn't that why we got Blum? Insurance for Crede because his back was acting up?
