LET'S MAKE A LIST OCTOBER '11 - FAVORITE SPORTS MOVIES
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 09:59 AM) This guy! Maybe I was too strict. Didn't count anything with wrestling, bowling, poker/cards, or pool. My list would have been much different if I had. Big fan of The Wrestler btw.

LET'S MAKE A LIST OCTOBER '11 - FAVORITE SPORTS MOVIES
Now that I think of it...scary movies would have been a much better option with the #1 movie revealed on the 31st (says the guy who hates sports movies).

Greg Walker next hitting coach in ATL
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) I guess this proves Walker has a lot more respect around baseball than most on this board thought. Respect is one thing, being good at his job is another. Norv Turner seems to get a lot of work in the NFL. He sucks.

U.S. Out of Iraq By the End of the Year
Obama is turning into Ozzie and his apologists seem like Marty, greg, and Cowley to me.

U.S. Out of Iraq By the End of the Year
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) To be fair its not like its coming out of left field. This was part of his platform when he was first elected. Meh. Why the 3 year delay? This should have happened in year one of his presidency. This looks purely political in my eyes.

U.S. Out of Iraq By the End of the Year
Just in time for the re-election campaign. How convenient.

LET'S MAKE A LIST OCTOBER '11 - FAVORITE SPORTS MOVIES
The list I submitted is pathetic. I couldn't even think of 10 sports movies that I've seen, let alone liked.

The environment thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 09:00 AM) For those who haven't followed the story at Berkeley, a group of so-called "Climate Change skeptics" decided to put together a program a year ago to test the supposed flaws in the consensus interpretation of the statistics. They received a ton of money, as all supuposed climate change skeptics do, including industry money. Their preliminary results were released earlier in the year, suggesting that...wow, the current interpretation is actually right, and they can no longer be skeptical of anything climate science is saying. They submitted a bunch of stuff a couple days ago...and once again...they're confirming the standard interpretation. Their "Average temperature increase over the last 100 years" is actually coming in on the high side. In the press release announcing the results, Muller said, "Our biggest surprise was that the new results agreed so closely with the warming values published previously by other teams in the US and the UK." In other words, climate scientists know what they're doing after all. These results I'm sure will get enormous press coverage. After all, they even had industry backing, which shows again that scientists aren't just some massive conspiracy after government funding. I'm sure this will get tons of coverage in the mainstream media. /sarcasm

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) From.....what the old iphones? Because other phones already use their own version of "Siri". It's not anything new that Apple is doing. I haven't seen anyone implement it quite like this.

LET'S MAKE A LIST OCTOBER '11 - FAVORITE SPORTS MOVIES
I hate sports movies. I go out of my way not to see them. That being said, I've seen enough to come up with a half-assed list.

2011 Films Thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 12:45 AM) Just watched Inside Job. If you ever need something to get your blood boiling...just watch this. Indeed. If I watched it again right now I'd probably fly over to Wall Street to join the protesters.
