Nice write up of yesterday's Justified.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 08:50 AM) And seriously, stop blaming Bush already, which is overused and abused to the point of absurdity. I know you hate him, but most of today's problems were created before he was in office, by Clinton, Sr., Reagan, Carter, Nixon, etc. Believe me, all of Americas problems that exist today did not happen in 8 little years. They were created, in unison between both parties, over a span of 40 years now...and Obama isn't making things any better than any of the predecessors so far. I completely agree on all of this. I just made the Bush reference because he was one who went with his gut often. It just appeared from your previous posts that you were going with your gut on climate change.

Make sure to check out the Cheesecake Factory.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 04:53 PM) Since I'm not a scientist, I doubt it. Call it my cynical nature to believe we do far less damage as humans than we try to claim. Besides, the sensationalism of this era is impossible to not notice on all sides. So you're going with your gut. We had a President that went with his gut for 8 years. Didn't turn out well.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 06:02 PM) Lol, that's quite dramatic. You must be a lil wayne fan. I can't understate how awful the album is. And no, not a L'il Wayne fan.

Someone should inform Peter King about the radicalization of Christian Americans. Maybe he can hold a hearing or something.

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 02:20 PM) This drives me nuts at Costco. It's as if people completely lose their manners when stepping inside the building. I know this happens to an extent everywhere, but it just seems so much worse there, especially considering the aisles are much wider than most stores. I went there for the first time a week ago and did a walk through. I plan to never step foot in one of those stores ever again. It felt like living hell.

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) I can hear it now... "John Parvey looks like he's got some discomfort going on after that pitch. Oney Guihan comes out and takes the ball from him."

QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 02:38 PM) 3 innings of no-hit ball from Peavy? I'm convinced the man is a cyborg.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) I'm actually at the Lunar and PLanetary Science conference, so my posting has been a mite sparse. Elitist!

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) Last I checked you were NOT a member of Team Sheen, but Anti-Sheen...therefore you have never been winning, and will never win.

i keep seeing Watson lurking in here. Has he been banned from posting in this thread?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) Are you ever going to contribute to these discussions? Or are you just going to play the role of Jon Stewart trying to be funny but really just annoying everyone? Seriously, why even write this? Aren't you the one b****ing about trolls in the Dem thread? I happen to be friends with Y2HH. I'm not trolling him. And always winning.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) 1-2-3 for Peavy in the first. 1K.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) And no, I don't care if people agree with my opinion on this or not...that's why it's an opinion. You have terrible opinions.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) Al Gore is clearly exploiting global warming for monetary gain. So please don't come into this thread and try to bulls*** like he's some scientist saving the world. Who called Al Gore a scientist?
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 12:31 PM) I see a problem with people who are immune to learning new facts and critically examining something. Why don't you agree with anthropological global warming? Most everything I've seen you post on it amounts to "AL GORE MONEY HOAX!", not any amount of healthy skepticism or questioning. What are your intellectual reasons for questioning it? Why are you throwing out a good amount of scientific studies and conclusions to reject it? Why do most people reject it? Because they see it as part of environmentalism, which is seen a liberal p**** plot to ruin everything and cost jobs. They're not rejecting it on an intellectual basis. They've no interest in actually understanding the models, the projections, the criticisms and the responses. It's entirely political and emotional. It is anti-science and anti-intellectual.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 10:25 AM) My fridge is seriously hollow. Nothing but a bottle of mustard, half a thing of butter, and a couple of cups of yogurt. Worse is I don't have time to go to the store til Fri What about trying this?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 10:30 AM) Even if it's a well-established theory, it's still just a theory, and has yet to be proven as scientific fact. It cannot be proven right or wrong any more than the existence of God/Gods at that point...and that's the problem. After it's been proven, it's another story altogether. The existence of God/Gods isn't even a theory.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) That and Sagan's "Dragon in my Garage" are pretty standard go-to's for me. There really is no comparison between belief in a well-established scientific theory and religious belief. It's equivocation at it's finest. *bookmarked*

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 10:21 AM) Just....no. http://chem.tufts.edu/AnswersInScience/RelativityofWrong.htm Good read. Thanks for the link.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 10:24 AM) Try defending your position instead of being a smart ass. It's hard when what I'm arguing against is the equivalence to astrology. And have you ever taken a science course? You seem to know nothing about it.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) Well, if you're talking about me specifically, i'm not religious at all, so I have no horse in this race. I hate both sides for this very reason. I think the Pope is every bit as close-minded as your precious scientists. Both are equally self-rightous about their beliefs. It's just more annoying from people like you because you bring intelligence into the debate, as if questioning science makes you a dumb person. That's bulls***. And that's not being anti-science. That's being a neutral observer that science can only get you so far and that it still requires faith to believe the theory. Science is wrong all the time. Is it a better system than believing what a book written 2000 years ago tells you? Sure? But that doesn't mean it's wrong to question it. It doesn't make it the de facto right answer. Is it dumb to denounce evolution? Sure. But it's equally dumb to claim that it's the only possible answer and that any other potential answer is just stupid people who hate using logic to answer questions (or as SS puts it, people who rely on emotion and religious belief). The first bolded just screams pot meet kettle btw. If you're using global popularity of a belief, religion has science beat pretty easily. This entire post is full of fail.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 09:53 AM) I wouldn't be so sure of that. Well I will be sure of that but thanks anyway.
