  1. Thoroughly disappointed in HTC's announcements at MWC. No dual core phones. No EVO successor. Just slightly tweaked phones from 2010. Meh. I think there's one more major mobile event in March. Maybe they'll unveil something then. Otherwise, LG, Motorola, and Samsung just blew them out of the water.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Feb 15, 2011 -> 06:05 AM) Strong second episode of The Chicago Code last night. I'm still not sold on it. It's just OK in my opinion. I feel like the only reason I'm watching it is because it's set in Chicago. If it was some random city I'd probably give up after these 2 episodes but I'll give it a few more weeks.
  3. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) I find both of those stations bad so I guess that means I live in a cave. I don't even listen to the radio and somehow managed to find out who they are. There's a world of amazing music out there besides top 40.
  4. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 04:18 PM) Do I live in a cave? What channel would Arcade Fire be played on? Any rock station. WXRT, Q101, any endless number of internet radio stations.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) Well, I presume it would work on 4G/3G services. So if you live in an area with spotty service you'll literally be holding a paperweight at times.
  6. Looks like it's on right now. Oh well.
  7. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Anybody watching Watson on Jeopardy!? It's been years since I watched that show. What time does it come on?
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) My favorite veggie meal is in naperville at Naf Naf. Anyone been there? They make their own pitas and whatnot, its heaven. Never heard of it. If I'm ever that way I'll check it out. I'm a huge fan of Ethiopian. We just started going to Ras Dashen after being long time fans of the Ethiopian Diamond. Weeknights are the best time to go as they play live music in the restaurant.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) They serve those at Qwest Field in Seattle. I am sure they are tasty but the whole freaking stadium stinks like garlic. Who cares. That stuff is from heaven.
  10. The Oakland Raiders added a Hall of Famer to their coaching staff, hiring Rod Woodson on Monday as an assistant to coach the team’s cornerbacks. via
  11. And why the hell don't they serve garlic fries in the stadiums in Chicago like they do in California?
  12. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) I wonder what it's like to go to a ballpark and smell all that ballpark food, and then be like "Man, I really want a carrot right now." I don't know. I've never said the words "Man, I really want a carrot right now" in my lifetime.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) Hakeems baseline fadeaway coupled with his up and under were just lethal moves in tandem. It was just automatic, if you thought he was fading away and went at him to block it, he would step underneath you and lay it in and get the foul. If you guarded the hoop, he would drop it in with a perfect touch. Amazing player One of my all time favorite players to watch.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 02:15 PM) Might try the curry one without the peas, because peas are gross (texture thing for me, I like peapods in stir frys). The bean taco one sounds good. My fiance and I have both been wanting to find some new recipes, the problem is we both eat like five year olds. I pretty much hate peas too but find it to be quite nice in this recipe. The dish is so flavorful that you're not going to get any pea-resembling flavors from it. It's almost more of a texture thing in this one.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 09:47 AM) Hey BS, any good vegan or vegetarian meals you can recommend for someone who doesn't particularly like vegetables? What do you eat for protein? Are you adept in the kitchen? Do you like ethnic foods such as Indian or Thai? Difficulty: Medium This is a dish we make fairly often at home. We just use vegan margarine instead of the butter. Serve over basmati rice. Difficulty: Easy This is another one we do quite often. Very simple too. We use Upton's (local company) chorizo flavored seitan...it crumbles very nicely when you need to put it in the pan. If you don't want to venture into mock meats just skip the seitan. The black beans would provide plenty of protein. For our sides we do fresh guac, daiya cheese, diced tomatoes, and chips & salsa (this one is my favorite). Grab some fresh corn tortillas from a local purveyor. And sub shallots for the onion if you want to get real fancy. EDIT: This has to be the most out of place thread of all time on this site. I think baseball is never mentioned once.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) There's always a role for a person whose persona is to push the limits of what people/parents would define as acceptable. The thing I do admire about him is...he actually realizes that's his role. Lines in his songs about how he's doing "Black music" and using it to make himself money, expressing some of the deeper truth. Also, I like the fact that he realized he was getting over-exposed and essentially disappeared for about 3 years, which really is a sound music-business move. I'm strictly talking about his music. I eat, sleep and breathe hip hop and never liked his music. He's like the white version of Jay Z.
  17. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) By the way, what's the appeal of Eminem? I like hip hop, but I don't get his appeal. That stupid scowl and everything about him is lame. No idea. I never figured out the obsession with him.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 01:04 PM) Music is something we can only gauge by one thing, money generated. Music reviewing and critiquing is very much based on personal preference, so those songs and albums that generate the most revenue ARE the best. That's the only way it can be defined. Is this sarcasm? Sounds like your best Colbert impersonation.
  19. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) I didn't say to not make the post, I was simply pointing out that the first few were funny, and now they're just as stupid as the people spreading them around. So I guess, in a way, I called you a stupid. Jump the Shark = reached climax...and downhill from here. Those have been going downhill for well over a week now, and that link illustrates what I mean, perfectly. I am well aware of what Jumped the Shark means, smart ass.
  20. Sorry. I will start PMing you with the contents of each proposed post I want to make for your clearance.
  21. I watched Terminator Salvation last night. I don't know which would have been a more painful viewing.
  22. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 03:40 AM) Hey BigSqwert, I noticed from the links to the pics you posted in an earlier post that one of your dogs is a Doberman. What is it like to own that dog? Is your Doberman as gentle as other Dobermans I've seen in videos? And what kind of dog is your other dog? It almost looks like a terrier of some sort. No it's a Miniature Pinscher which looks like a miniature Doberman. The breed comes from a mix of Italian Greyhound and Dachshund. The other one is a terrier/Border Collie mix. At least that's what our vet told us. Both were rescues.
