  1. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) Can't wait for the new Lupe Fiasco, hopefully J Cole drops his new album in 11, Shinedown hasn't released an album in a while. I've always liked Lupe but the production on his albums are all over the place. I think he'd be better off sticking with one producer, preferably someone more grounded in soul like 9th Wonder or Just Blaze.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 02:02 PM) But wasn't it improbable that he would have the year he had last year too? I remember when we let Jimmy walk, I posted his numbers year after year after year and said the odds are that if he can avoid injury, he would continue to post similar production for as long as he continues to play. It appears that if you accept he isn't going to play every game, and you therefore limit his PAs, you can greatly decrease the chances for injury. So how many times are we going to continue to say the same thing, and be wrong, but expect things to change? So you'd prefer a player that has to have his appearances limited?
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) In liberal speak, involving say a brown person or a black person or a woman or a gay person, this would be called stereotyping and not at all acceptable. Perhaps you need to look up the word stereotyping.
  4. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) Best of luck to Jim. Screw that. I hope he hits .120 this season.
  5. Top this Lebron! You can't touch the ultimate douche.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) How come the aim to get women into combat hasn't taken on as big of a media event as DADT? I'll claim ignorance here....so women still can't be in combat??
  7. If they become a Democracy then maybe this is a good thing.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 01:03 PM) I think he knew some federal politician made a habit of showing up at the grocery, and decided it would be a great idea to shoot her. Case closed!
  9. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) There is political and there is partisan. It seems as if this was political, some of his rants were anti-government. That makes it political. I don't think she was targeted because of a (D) behind her name. That makes it non partican IIRC But no one has proven this yet. Everyone is assuming. Just because he didn't write it in his journal or facebook page doesn't mean he didn't plan on doing it. EDIT: And you could be 100% correct. I just don't think we have the answers yet but many people are behaving as if we have all of the answers already.
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) I think most people dont realize that Larry the Cable Guy is just an act. It's a persona. Sort of like Palin.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) Seems pretty clear with what we've learned so far that this guy wasn't aligned with either party, and oh yeah, he's also a nutjob. That's why we can't really blame any specific party or politician, and shouldn't. Which is not much.
  12. And this is absolute bulls***. I pray that nothing happens to her. WTF is wrong with people?
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) And her opponent is an irresponsible idiot for doing such a thing. Still doesn't have any level of causation. Yes he's an idiot but I still don't understand why so many, with almost no evidence other than a youtube profile and a little facebook data from googling, is 100% convinced that this was a 100% apolitical event. Just because his facebook page didn't say "I will kill the local Democratic Congresswoman because Sara Palin and other leaders I admire told me to" doesn't mean that there couldn't be some political motive in this. After all, he went to a political event and went up to the Congresswoman and shot her first. That didn't seem random. My first inclination would be that somehow this was politically motivated. Maybe I'm wrong but who knows? None of us have interviewed him or searched his belongings or interviewed people he knows. We really don't have that much info into what he really thinks to completely dismiss this as politically motivated. And yes he seems to be crazy. And even if he admitted that he did this because he agreed with Palin or Rush or whoever doesn't make it their fault but his. But it would be evidence to those politicos to tone down their rhetoric instead of getting defensive as we've been seeing. I just hope that investigators are looking at all possible motives and not excluding one because it could hurt some people's feelings.
  14. Lets hope Pawlenty doesn't become President. He'll be aiming to reinstitute DADT.
  15. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) not I guess that's why so many people are talking about.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 11:56 AM) I know you have said it didn't cause it. No one has said it has. But you just brought up the darn target map again. What for?To illustrate that it's not unreasonable to question Palin or bring up what she said/did. There are obvious questions that any sane person could make by looking at what happened. Time line: - Palin issues map with sniper targets attached to names - One of the people on the map asks Palin to take it down because it could incite violence - That same person gets shot in the head Of course people will make those connections whether it directly caused the shooting or not. It's human nature.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 11:54 AM) But still Sqwert, and I know you are very liberal in your beliefs, you can't honestly believe that the target map in any way could be interpreted by anyone who is at all sane in a literal manner. I mean, come on. There are limits on how far one can stretch the politicising of things... I believe I mentioned this 50 times in here. No, I don't believe it's what caused the shooting.
  18. Palin to keynote gun convention My favorite line of the article:
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 10:24 AM) In what sort of world would you not expect Palin's map and the violent rhetoric directed specifically at Giffords by some not to be brought up and questioned after someone puts a bullet through her head? Especially since Giffords because something terrible could happen as a result.

  22. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 08:39 AM) We also can't have the NFL telling us what football is. I know what a incomplete pass is and what a fumble is, most people do. It is the most ludicrous rule ever. Thank you!
  23. Fascinating read by Robert F Kennedy.
