  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) What company you work for again? I've just moved into internal audit from external? Did you work in public prior to going into IA? Currently at True Value and never went the public accounting route. I always valued work/life balance.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) The key things that came out of SOX: 1. SOX 404 - Companies had to attest to there control environment (read up on COSO to learn more about the Control Environment) and the auditors than evaluated the controls as well and issued an opinion on the controls (much like we issue an opinion on the financial statements). 2. Public Accounting Oversight Committee - The audit firms actually got audited by a public department (in the past they were peer reviewed). Those public findings are documented and failures can become public knowledge (thus impacting our business). 3. Management had additional responsibility and the answer "We didn't know about it" wasn't good enough. Oh I know. I've been an Internal Auditor since 2001.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) Hey Mike What you are referring to above has no relevance to SOX. Sox was purely something created to ensure companies evaluated there controls and ultimately appropriately had the necessary controls in place to prevent from Fraud. IT also added a lot of responsibility to upper management to sign off and basically was set-up as a giant CYA for things like Enron. I'm a little confused as to what accounting guidance you are referring to Mike, but my assumption is you are thinking about the mark-to-market? QFT
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:21 PM) So are you guys telling me that they actually passed that thing about your monthly payment cannot be more than 10% of your gross monthly income? Can we be grandfathered in?
  5. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) I have been a member for a while and do not recall a SWAG gig. I shall gladly contribute next Tuesday depending on how next Monday goes. You won't be getting a hamburger today for it though.
  6. You forgot Green Balloons!
  7. Barack Obama looking at awesome things
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 09:40 AM) Maybe he'll still wear a Sox hat when he goes out there? I was referring to the attendance of that particular game in case anyone wanted to get tickets.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 08:35 AM) The Nationals get the President for their first pitch. Sell out.
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 09:20 AM) To play devils advocate, havent we been doing this to Pakistan for a while now? (GOing into another country to take out our enemies... not the country) To steal from Kap, it's always different!
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 09:11 AM) I am not fully convinced he is still technically alive. I think he may be a zombie at this point, especially given his recent photos LOL. I'll concede that point.
  12. The Raiders will continue to suck as long as Al Davis is alive. As a fan, I'd love to see a competent QB in the backfield to at least pull off an occasional upset against division rivals. It's all I have to look forward to. *sigh*
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:28 AM) My iPad is on it's way, via, UPS, from SHENZHEN, CN Nice. We expect a full review by next week's end.
  14. Raiders pursuing McNabb. Please let this happen!
  15. Enjoying Four Tet's "There Is Love In You".
  16. At this point it'd be more interesting to follow a random accountant from H&R Block than Ozzie's twitter. Example
  17. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) I just got an email telling me that my fathead jr. is shipping. I got it free with mlb 2k10. Tim Lincecum. Don't know if I actually have the guts to put it up anywhere. Unless you're 12 years old I'd avoid putting it up.
  18. QUOTE (joeynach @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) Defiantly, Brooks is awesome I have reached out to him on a couple of occasion for help with school projects and hes always happy to help. He doesn't even know me. I wasn't aware that Boyer had an issue with defiance. I'm glad he finally came around.
  19. Now that I've mulled it over more I'm changing my number to 85. Our offense is usually pretty anemic in April and we struggle to win consistently down the stretch to close out a season.
