The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 11:00 PM) The problem is, Balta, that Obama already did, sort of, on Friday - he was pretty damn quick on the trigger when he thought he could take credit for Imanutjob possibly being defeated (of course, it all had to do with his Cairo speech - arrogane piece of s***, but that's another post somewhere else. You can make a nice, generic statement, which is pretty much exactly what Mike Pence did, saying that the US does not support violence or repression - and let's be fair about it - which we all know won't happen anyway. That's it. You don't "pick sides" by saying that. Saying NOTHING does pick a side, because honestly, Obama has something to say about everything in the world to any camera that moves but he can't talk about this? He's already got skin in the game by promoting the fact that he will engage the (current) regime no matter what, even if they brutally kill people who dare oppose them in their own country. Why don't you just admit that this is one of those scenarios that no matter what the Obama administration does or does not do, you and the GOP pundits have an excuse to rip him to shreds.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 09:24 PM) It's all in how you're spoon fed. Coming from the guy who's been in lock step with every GOP talking point since 1975.

Should the U.S. adopt English as the Official Language?
If you decided to move to Paris would you only want to learn French if they declared it the official language? I don't see how something like this will determine whether you decide to learn the predominant language of a country.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 11:35 AM) And what's the incentive for "private care" to stay in business? To get people like you, who hate all things government run, to keep coming back so they can overcharge for unnecessary care.

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
Poor little girl who did the national anthem is going to be banished from school. Magic were 7-0 when she did the anthem and she blew it last night. I blame the loss on her. She didn't give it her best.

Richard Roeper on twitter: Woman who just missed taking the doomed Flight 447 was killed in car crash. Sounds like a scene from "Final Destination."

Catch-All Anything Thread
So I'm in line at the supermarket last night with a heaping cart full of stuff. Girl in front of me has one thing so I ask her "Do you only have 1 item? Is it OK if I go in front of you?" I've never seen anyone look so confused.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 11:57 AM) In June, the Sox are hitting .086 w/ RISP. Let's work on this today. I would have thought it was lower.

Catch-All Anything Thread
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 09:36 AM) I'd like to point out that most of this week, and predicted for the rest of it, Fairbanks, Alaska is warmer than Chicago. This spring/early summer has just sucked weather-wise. Its been like late March since late March. Its starting to get to me. If I wanted my summers to be like this I'd live in Seattle, or London. I was just in Seattle and it was warmer and sunnier.

TCQ update: If Sox Out of Contention, Shut-Down...Maybe
I think we need to get used to the idea that he will always be on and off the DL. He has yet to prove that he can stay healthy. Bummer.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (Cknolls @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) So the classless David Letterman makes fun of Palin by calling her a slutty flight attendant and makes fun of her 14 yr old daughter being raped by Alex Rodriguez. You sir are a douche and should be beaten with a baseball bat. WTF? What a prick.
