  2. QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 31, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) Sqwert you have the greatest sig I have ever seen.I have shown everyone at work and always get a laugh. Thanks to you and Brian for the props.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 31, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) i feel like national games are always shorter because so many more can watch them/aren't coming in for updates. And it's a very nice day in Chicago. I'm betting a ton of fans are at a BBQ right now. I'm just checking in now and again as I prepare the house for our live fantasy football draft later this afternoon.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 30, 2008 -> 04:13 PM) Peeve has 3 E's and no A's Nicely done.

    QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 07:53 AM) OMG!Tropic Thunder was f***ing I saw it last night and was very underwhelmed. Pineapple Express much funnier IMO.
  6. BTW I hate Boston and their s*** hole stadium and fans.
  7. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 06:37 PM) And your alternative is putting somebody who is an "expert at nothing" in the Oval Office right away? The "McCain is old and is going to die" argument is as trite as it is flawed. Has she even been over seas to meet with World Leaders? It's like they held a raffle at the local church and her name was pulled.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 05:30 PM) No... McCain considers himself an expert there (whether or not that's accurate is another issue). He did need to solidify his "conservative" credentials so on that front the pick makes sense. But as far as how experienced she is relative to Obama doesn't matter, it just cancels out the argument from the GOP side. So if McCain were to lose his life somehow during his 1st term we would have a President who is an expert at nothing. Governing a tiny state (population-wise) in a remote region of our continent for the past 2 years hardly qualifies someone to be the leader of the free world.
  9. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) So, let me get this straight: A relatively inexperienced Obama - who will DEFINITELY occupy the Oval Office, if elected - gets a free pass. But a relatively inexperienced Palin - who will only sit in the Oval Office in the unlikely event of McCain dropping dead - is a flawed choice? I can tell that the Obama-maniacs are nervous right now. Relatively inexperienced vs no experience. McCain himself has cited that the highest priority issues of our time are national security, Iraq, and Iran...3 things Palin has absolutely no experience in.
  10. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 05:09 PM) IMO the qualifications for VP should be the exact same as they are for president. If you feel that someone is unqualified for whatever reason, you should not pick them as your VP, plain and simple. The VP should be just as "ready" as the top candidate. Especially if the person running as the President on your ticket would be the oldest 1st term President in U.S. history if he were to win.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) Their opinion that their talking heads were more interesting than the Democratic party's propogandist speech givers was interesting. I'll choose PBS anyday. I'm just annoyed that PBS is not in HD for me.
  12. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 04:32 PM) true, the governor is actually running things. pick some random person out of a crowd and they could have done what Obama did in the Senate (which is basically nothing). The governor of one of the least populated states.
  13. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 02:49 PM) So are you saying that there's a good chance that McCain will suddenly drop dead in the next four years? His 96-year-old mother, who has been on the road campaigning for him, sort of suggests otherwise. Geez, even Dick Cheney is still alive and fully-functioning. I'd have to think that an individual's odds of living another year decrease significantly after the age of 70. His mother living into her 90s is a good sign but it doesn't guarantee anything. Dick Cheney is irrelevant in the conversation.
  14. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) ...but I woudln't simply dismiss it as a bad pick. I'm sure you dismiss it as a bad pick if the roles were reversed and Obama picked someone with her credentials and McCain picked someone with a wealth of experience.
  15. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 03:18 PM) That's probably fine with the McCain campaign, because Obama arguably has more of a judgement issue than an experience issue. I'll be honest...I haven't been hearing a lot of talk that Obama shows poor judgment. Experience was his big achilles heal.
  16. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 12:49 PM) If he's trying to court former Clintonites, it'll tighten a LITTLE. but not enough to make a huge impact. Clinton supporters are overwhelmingly pro-choice unlike Palin.
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) The great fear was that if McCain picked Romney, NV, CO, and MI would be practically in McCain's grip. (NV and CO because Romney is Mormon and MI because of ROmney's dad). Now that it is Palin.... this might open up Obama to take charge in those states. I don't see which swing state will improve McCain's chances with the Palin pick.
  18. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) I know...McCain is going to rip Barack apart b/c Obama can only read from a teleprompter... Indeed. McCain showed us all in the GOP primary debates that he is not one to mess with.
