  1. ARow does not blow. He is a great fielder, above average hitter, and great guy. I wouldn't go after him this year, but let Pods go next season and plug him into left. He can bat leadoff, but then again we would be far too right handed of a lineup with AJ and THome as our only starting Lefties.
  2. I truely can't wait to see the Tigers fall here slowly in the standings. I don't think they will have a long losing streak or anything - maybe a 4 game loss streak at most - but they will will lose 3 of 5 for a good span of time. I see us going 50-24 or so here on out, and 9-4 vs the tiggers. we haven't hit our complete stride yet...just wait til Garland (on his way), Buehrle (will work it out), and either Vaz or Freddy figure it out. We will win a bunch of 6-1, 7-0, and 8-2 games. I see D-town going something like 40-34, and us taking the division over them by 8 and the twinkies by 10. They still will win the wild card, and then we can whoop them up again. i will be watching from Michigan in a month...
  3. im tired from clapping and yelling for 6+ hours. great game. McCarthy, Jenks, and Thorton looked GREAT. I got to sit real close behind the plate for innings 11-19. P.S. I was at this game and the 16 inning last year. I went to 8 games last season and 2 this season so far. Why Sox, Why?
  4. classless fans. They caught Cubs women laughing after a KO of Lee, A Cubs fan on a cell phone constantly, and this classless move. They are trash.
  5. what's cuban's email? i would be surprised if he responds.
  6. According to the Trib Online (Joey Cora told them this), the replacement 3rd base coach for Cora's suspended games will be OZZIE GUILLEN!!!! YESS! This could be the cool. P.S. GO PHILLIES AND A-ROW. Prediction - Sox 5 Jays 4
  7. orland is a huge sox town, although there are some cubs fans. i think though a lot of OP sox fans are converts. in michigan, there are a lot of cubs fans, but a solid amount of sox hats, think its more for show. they love the D troit hats of course, and all have raging boners over the tigers. i remind them every day that the last winning season was in 1993.
  8. mccarthy should have remained in...period. ozzie will learn to stick with him soon enough.
  9. will someone write them and tell them how rediculous this is? this is a huge smack in the face to the MLB and the WHite Sox. If they can honestly claim the Cafe Raisians have a better offense than like said the Red Sawks or Angels, they are retarded and should not consider being rehired for a baseball writers position. Not only do they say the Sox lose, at home, but they lose 10-1, with the marines best hitter, a washed up utility player, goes 0-4. the whole MLB basically couldn't hit Contreras, but the 2nd to 9th best hitters on this japanese team can? f***in wow.
  10. i dont know why the sox would want to trade for pitching prospects. we dont give them a chance really ever. jenks doesnt count bc he was always major league ready, he just had mental problems. cotts was put in the bullpen immediatly. instead of giving one of our minor league amrs a chance, everyone (including KW i think) wants to plug in a major league reliever via FA or trade. if we trade garland for any minor league prospects i will be pissed. we use our prospects to trade for mlb players, which is fine and it has worked out for us so far. im not bashing the sox's way of going about things, im just making the point. i agree with it to a degree, although i would like to see a prospect get a chance to take the 4th and 5th OF spot and last bullpen spot.
  11. balta made a good point. they can sign these guys now, let them mentor, then trade em for prospects when there value is high at the trade deadline. good way i think to advance talent and build the farm repeatedly. grud, elarton, and bako can mentor well. menky is a jerkoff but prolly will draw a prospect or 2 at the dealine.
  12. First, here is what I have put together so far as of what the final trade looks like: Arizona gets : El Duque, Vizcaino, Young Sox get: Vasquez, 8 mil over 2 yrs (which makes him a 7.5 mil a yr pitcher) If that is 100% correct, which i am not sure of completely yet, we won big time. Vasquez (the 2nd Expo great pitcher we have picked up) is def worth 7.5 mil a yr for the next 2 yrs. I would like anyone who knows baseball at all to disagree with that. Second, we gave up El Duque, who we do not need, along with his 4.5 mil this year. Amazing we could even do that! Then we lose Viz, who is replaced by McCarthy. LEt's not forget how crucial it was to bring Buehrle in slowly in the pen. Then we lose Young, which might hurt, but not now. Owens, Sweeney, and Anderson will do. Plus, AROW is a free agent after 2007! We traded a good young prospect to the other league from a depth position? Nothing wrong with that. Better than Fields (2nd in live at 3rd) or McCarthy. Now I say hold on to Garland, unless something drastic can be done. Let him walk if he wants after this yr, then promote Cotts. He will be a #2 or #3 starter for a long time. Tejada and Crawford would be nice, but not neccasary by any means. I know this is hard to think of doing, but how bout we let our minor league pitchers fight it out for that last bullpen spot? Politte, Hermy, Jenks, COtts, McCarthy, ?. Ask fans of 2/3 of the other teams and they will tell you it happens a lot. Prospects in the White Sox organazation just never get very many chances. I can deal with our 6th bullpen man being a rook. Now let's look at $. Vasquez for 2006 (if details are correct) - $7.5 mil El Duque, Viz for 2006 - At least $6 mil, if Viz gets 10% raise in arb. So we added $1.5 mil to our salary in 2006. BIG DEAL. We got a potential #2 when he is on, when he is off, he's no worse than an average #4. BE HAPPY SOX FANS!!!!
  13. exactly, im sorry, i want big Jon back. screw 2007 and on, we want to win this yr. sure vasquez could be a good fit here, but Garland has proven that he is. if he walks after this season, ok. resign contreras, you still have buehrle, garcia, and mccarthy. thats 4 quality starters. then either sign a FA starter or work up a minor leaguer. or how about this, NEAL FOCKING COTTS. Why not give him one more yr in the pen and then wham. 2006 Buehrle Garcia Garland Contreras McCarthy/Duque 2007 Buehrle Garcia Contreras McCarthy Cotts Nothing wrong with that.
  14. i'm late to this too, and i didnt want to read 15 pages, so sorry if this has been said already. I believe that Kenny should try to put a package together for Crawford. If he can somehow pull it off w/o getting rid of any of the major league pitchers, go for it. You dont think they would like willie, rogowski, baj, and munoz for crawford? here is why i would get rid of a lot of talent for him. take a look at this lineup. LF - Pods CF - Crawford RF - Dye 1B - Konerko DH - Thome 2B - Iguchi C - AJ 3B - Crede SS - Uribe Thats as dangerous of a lineup overall as any i have seen. Its more dangerous than the potent Bos/NYY lineups in the past bc of the speed. A single for pods or crawford can turn into a triple 2 pitches later. As long as Garland,McCarthy, Cotts, or Jenks arent involved, go for it. Fields can go, Crede is still young.
  15. I have found a possible fit for the CF job. Kenny Lofton. One year deal likely between 2-3 mil. He would take less playing time, worked out well with us before, and would allow anderson or owens to get some time. then get rid of timo so we can have 2 of the owens, anderson, sweeney, young group up.
  16. With the addition of Thome, due to getting rid of a class act, Bears fan, all around great player Aaron Rowand, I think our offense is where it needs to be. Crede and Uribe will continue to improve, as will A.J.'s batting average. Iguchi will be a year more adjusted, and Pods will return healthy with some confidence that he does actually have a little power. Why not do what the Astros did with Tavares and instead of spending or trading more talent for a OF go with the speedy Owens? The angels also did it with Chone Figgins a couple of years ago. Willie Harris and Owens could both be used off the bench to create a speedy duo. Harris with some added playing time could be a .250 hitter i believe. Then, get rid of f***ing Timo, please, and get a defensive minded backup outfielder (free agent, any ideas?) who can come in once and a while and provide some power (maybe already have in gload?). No need in my mind to add salary now, let's wait til the trade deadline. p.s. although the rowand's rowdies are dead, we will rise again in another form.
