  6. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Buzzfeed takes a look at what the electoral map would have looked like at different stages of enfranchisement in US history. 1870 (Traditional American vote) 1870-1920 (minority male vote, but no womens' vote) 1920 (only white men and women because of poll taxes, etc.) whats your point? you hate Amerikkka and all other countries have a righteous history?
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 06:59 PM) SCOTUS agreed to take up a case challenging Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act uh what is that
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 05:56 PM) the US economy did just fine under Clinton with higher tax rates AND capital gains taxes then there is no need to compromise. simply go back to those rates, as they are going to do naturally.
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 9, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) It does trouble me that a CIA director cant even get away with cheating. ^^^
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 8, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) Peggy Noonan, wsjonline.com Mr. Genius, I doubt you will read it, but I would like to see your reaction to this op-ed piece. I read it. Basically, some of it is right. The GOP can't be the anti-America pro-outsourcing party, they lose their patriotic base. Romney is a terrible candidate in that area. Romney was also clueless when it comes to connecting with the middle class. He was fraud and everyone knew it. When he talked about patriotism, small government, freedoms, or the country it almost always seemed fake; because it was.
  11. QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 8, 2012 -> 06:07 PM) fewer get outta here
  12. I'm not sure you guys are in the demographic we are looking to give free stuff too. Remember, it's about getting 65% of a certain demographic. 70% would be gravy on the mashed potatoes.
  13. Interesting. The final stats show Romney actually got less votes than McCain and a lot less than Bush. Clearly, Mittens did not get the GOP base out, even though they are totally against Obama. But that's what happens when you nominate a far left wing Republican. Time to get back to basics and bribe the base with free stuff.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2012 -> 06:48 AM) Then blame the Dems when you can't. Its really a win-win. Obama's fault
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 8, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) The reactions to the election from the far-right, such as the Tea Party groups and Christian Coalition hardliners, are hilarious. They actually think Romney lost because he wasn't conservative enough. Complete denial of reality. It is almost sad to watch. I can fully understand people's policy positions, even if they are further right than mine (by a little or a lot). But at some point, if the GOP wants to make changes, they need to deal with the obvious schism occurring in their party. They need to deal with the fact that the Tea Party types - who initially started as libertarian-like but quickly became just extra-angry right wingers - is falling back from being a party base to being an interest group. They can't have that be their platform keys anymore. You don't get it. At all.
