  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) Oregon really might have the best offense I've ever seen in college football. they are ridiculous.
  2. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 07:00 PM) He strikes again! http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2012/11/biden-2016.php
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 02:21 PM) I think the one thing we can settle on is that America has a weight problem. i can agree with that
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 02:50 AM) Emily Post Question: I needed four tickets for the Kansas-Texas football game last week because I had friends coming in from Chicago for Homecoming. I made it my mission to find good seats that were free because, frankly, I'm not going to shell out a penny for Kansas football for gosh sakes. We're talking one of the worst programs in the country with awful fans. I ran into my rich car dealer one day, who is a big booster, and I asked him if he had four freebies to the Kansas-Texas game. He said yes and said to call him the week of the game. He ended up calling me the week of the game before I could call him and I went and picked up the freebies at the dealership. He even threw in a parking pass in a very convenient spot. The game came and went and my friends went to the game and had great seats (not that it matters for a Kansas football game). I was at the store buying some stuff and bought a thank you card and sent it to my car dealer. My question to you is: Was that a good thing to do, to send him a thank you card or was it nerdy and kind of unnecessary, unmanly so to speak? Believe it or not, the four tix were worth 320 bucks (for a Kansas football game, my god; 80 bucks a pop). I figured it would be nice to thank him with a card rather than just an email. So was it a bush league move or a good move to send him a thank you card? We know each other and I'd consider the car dealer an acquaintaince more than a friend. I have purchased 2 cars there in the past. As it turns out, I havent heard a peep from my friends who used the four tickets. I saw them tailgating and tailgated with them a while (I had to go to a couple diffrent tailgates, not just theirs) but no thanks for the tix from them. They had a lot of stuff planned so I didn't get to see them much all weekend. So what say you? Thank you cards? Or are they absurd? sending a thank you card would be a nice thing to do and would very likely be appreciated.
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) You need to unskew those results. Only 5% of voters in Mississippi went for Obama after you take away all of the ACORN fraud. haha
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 01:32 AM) Southern "I've been proved wrong so I'm going to try and save face because I can't admit defeat"s i have a fact that will likely shock you. 42.8% of voters in Mississippi voted Obama. so those would be southern democrats. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/politi...tion2008/ms.htm
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 07:51 AM) I'd like to see a profile done by race and sex. yea there's a lot of stats on that if you look. it's pretty clear the Democrat voting demographic has a lot of intersections with the obesity demographic.
  8. QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) mr genius, you've been served. not really. those are southern Democrats on your chart.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 09:09 PM) I'd rather institute a troll tax. you would go bankrupt.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) No. The narrator explains that the earth was created 4000 years ago, gays are evil, raped women should have no right to an abortion, Hispanics are unwelcome in America, and that Romney will declare war on Iran during his inauguration speech. All of this is said with random video clips of controversial figures from the Latin world. haha Mittens, thinks he will lose and puts out a sarcastic joke political ad. maybe he's not so bad afterall. too bad i already early voted for Obama
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 07:07 PM) <!--quoteo(post=2721485:date=Nov 1, 2012 -> 07:00 PM:name=MexSoxFan#1)-->QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 07:00 PM) <!--quotec-->The thing I want to know is, do we have a 3 pt lead with the ball or on defense. Makes a world of difference. with ads like this, Romney will surely win the coveted Hispanic vote not sure what's going on in that video. Hugo Chavez bad and Obama bad? is that the narrative?
  12. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 07:05 PM) All southern Wal Mart shoppers are fat and chances are great they are Republicans it would be close. i still think Democrats are fatter. Edit: I just researched obesity demographics. I was wrong. Democrats are very likely to completely own the fatso vote.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 06:58 PM) I know how to do this even moreso. Right now, fat people already pay a fine for being fat -- much higher health insurance rates. We will nationalize the healthcare system and fat people will then pay the government more, rather than "fat cat" insurance companies pfft. they won't pay extra
  14. in the name of bipartisanship, i have a great idea and want to run it by you guys. here are some basics to start with. 1) you guys like to raise taxes. 2) you really would like to raise taxes mostly on Republicans 3) you guys think Republicans are fatter than Democrats based on comments here at Soxtalk. What about a fatso tax? All fatsos have a weigh in and have their tax rates raised or lowed based on how fat they are. the tax will be like a fine. so for an extreme fatso the fine is like 5k a year. what do you guys think?
  15. QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 05:14 PM) get off my lawn! YOU ARE ON MY LAWN OLD MAN! leave and take your s***ty springsteen CD's with you.
  16. QUOTE (Reddy @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 05:15 PM) like... Rush... Limbaugh...? didn't he lose weight?
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 05:18 PM) I'd like to know if there is a trend as far as obesity in the respective parties. Which has the fattest politicians? Which has the fattest voters? This could be completely partisan blinders, and is certainly influenced by anecdote, but I feel like the Repubs would be fatter. I'm pretty sure the Democrats are fatter. every time i go into a 'democrat stronghold', i see super extreme fatsos everywhere.
  18. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) The final Monday rally lineup: Romney and Kid Rock vs Obama and Springsteen/Jay-Z i wouldn't go to any of any of those for free
  19. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 12:11 PM) Mr. Brown is done, me likey. We'll see
  20. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 02:54 PM) Limbaugh just called Christie fat & a fool Rush was being kind. A more accurate description of Christie is morbidly obese
  21. QUOTE (Reddy @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 07:52 PM) or is Cherokee a big voting block these days? yes
  22. i'm thinking about getting an ASUS gaming laptop
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 02:27 PM) Too busy or lazy to upgrade. You can always download a preview version, fire up VM Player or VirtualBox and try it for yourself. yea. i guess we are getting windows 8 at work so i can wait.
