  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) happy now? hmmm, not really
  2. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) Gload (DH) uh, no. Sorry, I just don't think Gload is anywhere near as good a hitter as we need our DH to be.
  3. QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) i would tell rowand to go back on the roids haha, sounds like a good idea to me
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) I said in the game thread, the 4 guys in the line-up I would be looking to replace are Rowand, Crede, Everett, and Pods actually, Crede probably needs to stay. Hopefully next year Pods can play a full season. As far as Rowand and Everett, I wouldn't mind seeing an improvement at center and DH.
  5. yea, I don't see this team going anywhere... offense is just far to weak
  6. dude, i'm totally die hard nelly fox used to be our catcher that we traded for sammy then dealt to baltimore for buehrle
  7. QUOTE(shakes @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) Sac fly for Frank. 4-1!!!! steal second!
  8. QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:46 AM) My vote is for Lamar Hoyt he was so dam dominant in 83 thats who i voted for btw, its LaMarr Hoyt bla
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) But they're going to the World Series still, right? yes, or course
  10. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) Probably McCarthy Why not take a chance on seeing if this kid can work through his struggles and get confidence in his pitches back(like as in, actually throwing them, and then throwing them well)? It's not like we're in the middle of a close race where 3 losses in a row from the 5th spot is gonna kill our chances of winning a thing. At the very, very worst, it means Minnesota and Cleveland gain 3 games in those games. That means they are 5 out instead of 8 out. Personally, I am all for McCarthy starting every game until Duque gets back. Let him get experience, let him take his lumps, let him try and pitch through the struggles. yea, thats pretty much what i've been thinking. our middle relief has been lights out lately so we might be able to get away a few (between 3 and 6) more McCarthy starts.
  11. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) I don't think you sit him and have Garland rest on short rest. Garland can get rocked and people will be asking for Ozzie's head. And if BMac isn't going to pitch, send him down and bring up another pitcher(like Adkins as a LR). I don't like BMac, but I hate the idea of pitching our guys on short rest. It didn't work last year and it won't this year IMHO. Garland won't really be on short rest. The day off on Thursday will mean that Garland will be pitching Sunday after 4 days rest. We have the day off Monday after the scrubbies series (i think) as well.
  12. any word on when Orlando Hernandez will be ready to return? If he's not ready to go do you guys have any idea who will take the 5th starter role? IMO we should keep Cotts in the pen and not piece him into the starting rotation.
  13. QUOTE(Fotop @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) It's really easy to take a s*** on a 21 yr old prospect flung into a team that expects perfection every night. Simply put, I think everyone needs to take a step back and not write McCarthy off so soon. You guys make sound like he's Kris Honel or something. But hey, if posting I told you so's every start gets your rocks off, then go right ahead and splooge all over your monitor. haha, uh no one is saying that... we are saying he isn't ready for the majors yet... comprehensive reading my friend, learn it.
  14. i'm just waitin for the "McCarthy for Oswalt" thread
  15. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Didn't most of the board think he wasn't ready anyways? na, most of the board was very angry at the very mention of McCarthy not being ready for the majors. it's obvious he needs some more work
  16. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Your name says it all. yes, i know btw: i was right.
  17. So, you guys still think McCarthy is ready for MLB hitters?
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) Dude, D'Angelo Jimenez DOES suck. That's irrefutable. something we can all agree on
  19. QUOTE(farmteam @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) His ERA is 6.47, at least know the facts if you're going to enter an argument. environment to start out in. hahaha, ok dude.... seriously, you guys gotta get off this guys cock after one good start against the scubbies
  20. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) Yea it does, he's pitched twice in the majors. I was talking about his ERA in AAA after returning from the sox, not his major league ERA. I don't know what his overall ERA in AAA is, I suspect it is fairly high for a top prospect. Let me state this one more time...I think McCarthy is a great prospect and will be a good pitcher. I don't know if he is ready yet for MLB, I hope is! done and done
  21. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) Some of you people need to think before posting. Judging McCarthy on his AAA numbers so far this year is completely idiotic. The guy is one of the top 100 prospects in baseball and one of our top 3. Look at his career minor league numbers. He had one bad game up here AT Texas, when they were on a complete roll and everyone called for his head. He did pretty damn well in his MLB debut if I recall correctly and it was in a big game at Wrigley. Give the guy a chance before writing him off. He's only pitched twice in the majors. 1)AAA numbers are a telling sign of the progress of a pitching prospect. The assumption that judging a prospect by their minor league numbers is "idiotic" is highly suspect 2)A lot of top prospects don't pan out. I hope McCarthy does and I think he will, I just don't think he is ready for the majors yet. 3)single A numbers count about as much as highschool numbers 4)One bad game doesn't lead to a ERA over 7. sorry dude 5)Yea, he pitched a good game against the struggling scrubbies (not a major accomplishment). He also followed that game against a quality team and got destroyed. I think he will beat KC tonight, the are about as good as the flubs.
  22. QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) Im not a BMac fan.. He needs to prove to me he can be what he is projected to be before I support him.. Ide rather trade him to someone who thinks hes gonna be good in the future because I dont see it.. Look at his AAA #'s they suck, im sorry but someone who is as good as he has been advertised does not suck like he has in AAA i agree... Garland dominated AAA and it still took him a while to pitch really well in the majors
  23. 6 ip 2 runs only because it's KC i think McCarthy has no chance against a good team just my opinion... principal skinner: "...prove me wrong children, prove me wrong"
